She nodded to acknowledge that she heard him and continued her strange search. There had to be something here, she sensed it instinctively. Where was it? She glanced around, pausing abruptly in her movement to look up. "Oh..." She whispered, and reached upward to grasp what she saw.
It was large, forcing her to use both paws to hold it carefully. She stared down at it, surprise etched onto her face. It was blue, a soft blue that hinted at a glowing center. To look at, it was almost too pretty to eat. The rounded edges made it look a bit cute as well, as it should, for it was a star. She turned to show it to Briar, a soft smile on her lips, "I found it." She said, a hint of disbelief laced in it.
How could she have found a fruit, one clearly ripe to eat, when all of the others were rotting on the ground? She flushed pink, she was probably Hallucienating or something and holding a rock. She must be crazy. "Oh..." She turned her gaze back to the fruit, tempted to drop it and let the illusion end, but she didn't move. She didn't want this pityful illusion to end.

Briar sat back and waited for Kechara, deciding to let her investigate a little while longer before he tried convincing her to search somewhere else for food with him. Upon hearing her announcement, Briar wandered around to the other side of the tree to where he found Kechara sitting with a blue star fruit in her paws. He blinked, surprise in his eyes, as he stared. Moving closer, he examined the fruit in Kechara's paws. It was perfectly ripe without any bruises or dents.
"I can't believe one remained," Briar whispered, looking up at Kechara. "I mean, all the others are lying on the ground in decay, except this one which is still perfectly fresh."

Kechara nodded, "I can't either, but..." She flushed, "Well, I just kind of knew there was something there." She explained hastily, "I'm sorry for acting strange, I just..." Her voice trailed off, she couldn't say anything more. She looked at the blue star again, and then Briar, "Um...D-do you want to eat it now?" She asked, and finding herself lost in his orange-red eyes. She shook herself free-quite reluctantly-and looked away, an even darker crimson.

Briar shook his head, seeing no reason for her to apologize for her behavior, which wasn't really all that strange in his mind. "Of course!" he answered Kechara's question, grinning at her. "Let's share it."

Kechara nodded, using a claw to split the fruit in half for both of them. A bit of slugish juice spilled out as she held Briar's half out to him, dripping down her paw. "Oops." She mumbled, laughing nervously, "I guess it spills." Her face was still pink and she religiously avoided his eyes for the simple fact that anymore eye-contact, probably if he even touched her, she'd melt into a little puddle of happy-goo. Such an idiot... she whispered to herself, Acting this way....but can I really be against it?

Briar reached out to take his half of the fruit. He cupped Kechara's paw and brought it to his mouth. Pausing, he looked over to her, giving her a chance to pull away if she objected. Then he tentative licked at the juice that had dripped onto Kechara's paw.

It took a moment for Kechara to register what Briar was doing. One moment she was handing him the fruit--the next he was licking the juice off of her paw. She stared at him for a moment and then--dark crimson painted her cheeks a vibrant shade. "....B-Briar?" She managed to whisper, eyes wide.

Briar, for a moment thinking had made a grave error, started to pull back. "Yes, Kechara?" he asked, still holding her paw, but he sat up straight so that his mouth was no longer close to her paw. He tilted his head with a look of confusion as he waited for Kechara to talk again.

Kechara somehow became a darker shade of red and looked down, "Wh-what a-are you doing? And...why'd you stop...?" She managed to squeak out, gaze firmly attached to the blue fruit firmly held in her free paw, "S-sorry..." She whispered, terribly embarrassed. I'm scared... her mind whispered faintly, But it's not because of you...it's because I don't understand how I can feel so much toward you at this point.

"You had juice on your paw," Briar explained, looking the paw he held over. It still had some juice clinging to her fur. "I stopped," he paused and glanced up at Kechara, "because I didn't want to make you feel uncomfortable."

Kechara blinked and nodded meekly, still a bright crimson, "I-I see..." She whispered, "I-I'm not....uncomfortable..." She looked up, finally looking into the red male's eyes, "I-I like it...?" She dropped her gaze again, "B-but if you are y-you can stop if you like...."

Briar grinned a little as he raised the paw back to his mouth. "Not uncomfortable at all, my dear," he said before he licked some more of the sticky juice from Kechara's paw.

Kechara flushed darker, hiding her face behind her multi-colored hair. Her heart beat rapidly in her chest, fingers tingling with every lick against her fur. Her fingers twitched and she squeezed the half of the fruit still held in her paw.
She glanced up in surprise and embarrasment, "Sorry, I--" She stared as a bit of the blue juice dripped onto Briar's paw and without thinking--and causing a situation that would profoundly embarrass her later--She raised herself onto her knee and automatically altered her grasp on his paw, bringing it down to her level so she could like it clean.

Briar was stunned when Kechara returned the favor and began licking his paw clean of the fruit's juice. He smiled at her as his tail thumped happily against the ground. He doubted there was a mate more suited for him than Kechara. After a few more licks, Briar had gotten the last of the juice that had spilled onto Kechara's paw.

Kechara opened her eyes-which had been closed-and blushed crimson, "S-sorry! I--!" She let go of his paw quickly, bringing it close to her chest, "I-I'm sorry, I didn't mean anything--" She stammered, eyes wide and staring at a point on the ground, "I-it's just you had juice on your paw and I...." She stammer rapidly before she trailed off, still blushing brightly enough she was sure she was glowing.
