Random_Monster_Attack He nodded in approval of the new, more manly band-aid. "I think I'm gonna come with you guys to the baseamajig thing." "Really?!" Ruby squeeled and gave him a big hug.

"Yeah. I figure having someone as cool as I can make up for the bad leadership." He smiled.

Ruby glanced up at him, for a brief moment letting him see some of the concern in her grey eyes, but she pushed it away quickly and masked it with a smile. "Everythin'll work out just fine, Verve."

Hattie had busied herself washing or cleaning up messes. She was currently elbow deep in a tin tub washing bedding. The water was pink with washed blood as she took a soap to yet another sheet. She scrubbed until she couldn't any more before taking the sheet and twisting it until all the water splashed from it. She then tossed it up on her make-shift line to dry.

Ruby peaked over Hattie's shoulder, watching her clean, and in general getting too close into her space. Ruby had a habbit of doing that. "What's your paternal grandmother's maiden name?" She asked in an attempt to make conversation...or at least check to see if Hattie was one of her many cousins.

Hattie turned her head to see Ruby and furrowed her brows for a brief moment. Her eyes flashed with a sudden sadness and rage but it was quickly gone and Hattie smiled wide and quite disturbingly. "I'm not really sure, St. Claire." She replied. "I never met her and I'm assuming she's maggot food by now." She said this with the same smile, as of it meant nothing to her.

Ruby missed Hattie's brief change in mood, or if she saw it she decided to move away from the subject until later. She shrugged, and sat herself on the edge of the sink. "I really don't like maggots. I once had a pet rabbit, and she got a cut in her cage, an' we didn't notice it, an like a few days later she was gettin' real sick. So we took her out to give her some sugar water an' the like, an' we found the cut. It was movin' an' wrigglin, and I pulled it back a little to get a look an' found it was full of maggots. Maggots eatin' my poor bunny alive. I really don't like maggots."

"Poor Bunny." Hattie said in a careless reply. "I've never had a pet myself... Well... Maybe I have..." She furrowed her brows and then looked as if she were thinking quite hard. Either that or she was constipated. When her head started to feel floaty, she gave up trying to surface her past. "I'd like to think I had a pet. I'm an animal person. Fish, I think." She nodded, content with that.

Laurel stepped in just in time to catch the last few words. "Are we having fish tonight? Mmmm. How are you doing, Auntie?"

Ruby nodded, "Fish are good, nice an' replaceable too....but I'm more of a bird person. I like things that can talk back to me....and I like feathers." She smiled at Laurel, "Well hey there, sug. I'm doin' right fine, but you know how I feel about bein' called Auntie, makes me feel all old inside....'fcourse bein' called mommy don't help much either."
