There was someone on the stairs staring at him so he figured that was better than staying outside. "Yea .." He shuffled past Kaleb and hoped that no one bugged the mage after he left.

Kaleb closed the door behind him, and scurried to hastly move some books off the couch so there was more room than just the tiny spot he occupied during his studying. He blushed again at the little red box in his hands. "D-did you want anything to drink? I-I think I have some juice in the fridge..."

"Ah .. nah im good." He flopped down on the free space on the couch and leaned back against the cushion. At least maybe if he was sitting he wouldn't think about the damn box.

"O-okay..." Kaleb said, moving another tall stack of books and sitting down next to his partner. He fidgeted with the box. "D-did you want me to open it now?" he asked hesitantly.

"If ya want" He didn't really care when Kaleb opened it since it was just candy. If his partner wanted to save it then he could just stash it away or something.

That was as good as a yes, so Kaleb carefully opened the little box. Once he saw the contents he grinned brightly and barely took the time to set the box on the coffee table before throwing himself at Riley to give him a hug. "You got me chocolate!" he exclaimed happily.

He caught Kaleb and grunted slightly. It was just candy. It was like the chocolate milk all over again. "Yea .. figured ya liked it since ya drink chocolate milk."

Kaleb just grinned. "I like chocolate more than chocolate milk," he said, wagging his tail in an absolutely delighted manner. He glanced up at Riley without letting go of him. "You didn't get me chocolate because I said I wouldn't get any more, did you?"

Kaleb's tail wagged a bit more as he hugged Riley tighter. "You're too nice to me, thank you so much!" It wasn't just the chocolates that pleased him so much, knowing Riley had thought of him and cared enough to get him something made him feel all warm inside.

"You are too nice, I don't know how to repay you!" He exclaimed. At that point he would have been ready to just crawl into Riley's lap and rub his ears until dinner if that would help him return the favour.

He shrugged slightly. "Ya don't gottan repay me. Then it wouldn't be a gift." If he got payment for it then it would just be a trade.

"Not just for that, for everything." Kaleb said with a smile. Regardless of what Riley said, he felt he owed his partner for all the kindness.
