The blush never left Jigue's face as Basil kissed him again, making the pale cat wish he could be so bold as to return the kiss. But it was all okay, as the day was still new and there was still so much to do!

At the mention of lunch, Jigue's ears perked up. "Oh, um..," he said with a little laugh, hearing the bantering chime on Basil's question. "Yeah, I could go for something to eat! I just really wanted to feel the ocean again, that's all," he continued, pulling up on a pant leg; he really had gone pretty far out, and he only had wanted to dip his feet in! "Let's see what Florien packed us, eh?" he said with a grin.

"England? You used to live in England? What was it like there?" Jigue asked as his interest was piqued, turning to follow Basil out of the water. "What did you think when you came over here? What did it feel like? Do you miss England?" he continued, clamping his mouth shut suddenly. He was so interested that he hadn't realized how annoying he must be sounding with all these questions. He kicked at the water absently once more, trying to think about how it must've been to be so far from everything you knew.

Chuckling heartily the cat purred. He didnt mind telling, though it was a bit of a story. "If you want, i can just set everything out, if you want to stay and play in the water a bit. We can sit pretty close since the waves arent rolling in so far." Basil smiled at the other feline. He went to the basket they had gotten and pulled out a blanket to lay on the sand about as close as they could get to the water's edge without getting soaked.

"As for England...Yes, I lived there most of my life. It was lovely. Beautiful scenery, amazing cities and old buildings... So much history. When I came here I didnt know what to think. I came on a whim, actually wanting to leave Europe." his ears fell slightly, though he took a seat on the blanket and looked at Jigue.

"Sometimes I miss it, though I know I came here for the better. It was more of running than such..." Wow... there was a flood of memories, but he kept his purr up. "You're free to ask any questions. It's okay." Smiling again, the cat went and looked in the basket. There were all kind of yummy things! <3

"Oh, that's okay, I'll come in!" Jigue chirped as he followed suit out of the water, though his steps came slower. He had to be careful not to lose his balance, and it was quite easy to do so with the extra weight the water put on his soaked pants and the thick fur on his feet; not to mention the small waves that reached shore could come quite unexpectedly!

Reaching land once again, he reached down carefully and began to squeeze as much water from his denim jeans as he could, though it was slightly difficult seeing as they were a bit form-fitting. As he did this, he listened to Basil's explanation of England, his eyes visibly lighting up even through the glazed appearance being blind gave them. He hadn't traveled very much -- or at least as far as he could remember -- and this place seemed so... pretty, maybe even magical. He wondered what kind of things he would feel in such a place, thinking he probably wouldn't be able to even start to imagine correctly.

As he finished Jigue rose slightly, still crouched as he came over to sit on the blanket beside his friend. He was careful not to knock over the basket as he fell back onto his hindquarters, legs stretched out so he could give them room to dry. The soft sound of the waves crashing ashore so near really calmed him down, despite his frustration over his own lost memories. If he could keep interested in other things, such a problem wouldn't worry him so much.

"Do you... do you think," Jigue started nervously as he heard Basil reach for the basket, a finger coming to his mouth in response, "Do you think you'd be able to... show me England someday?" It seemed so wondrous a place, but to take someone like him... it was almost too far-fetched a dream. However, he felt so compelled to ask that he knew it was partly because of his crush on Basil.

The cat watched as Jigue sat before pulling two sandwiches from the basket, offering one, taking care to make it obvious, to the other feline. "Sandwich?" they looked delicious... Florien should open a deli too. Chuckling lightly at his own idea, his ears perked and flicked as the cat asked him a question.

It took him moment to comprend what he had just been asked... "Take you to England?" His purr faultered lightly as his tail flicked. His eyes lowered to his food.... Would HE even WANT to go back? Sure it was magical in some ways.... but...-

His purr picking back up Basil smiled. "I would love to, though I dont know how soon it will be."

As Basil offered Jigue a sandwich from the lunch basket, the pale cat hastily dried his wet hands on his vest and grabbed the offered one, a bright smile on his face. "Thank you!" he purred, fiddling with it for a moment before deciding to unwrap it to eat.

He took a bite as he listened to Basil, a moment's lapse of silence telling the intuitive cat that it was an awkward situation. Did something go bad last he was there..? he thought to himself, immediately feeling foolish for not thinking things through. Usually one left a place behind because of one thing or another, but it wasn't normally on very good terms. He was tempted to apologize before the feline started up again, but knew that might make things all the more awkward for him, so tried to continue to keep up his smile to brighten the mood.

"Don't worry about it! I don't mind the wait; I'd probably feel downright out of place if I wasn't prepared anyway. Really, just anywhere is fine, if I'm going with yo--" he coughed slightly as he stumbled on the last part of his sentence, blush returning to his face. He turned his face away a little and took another bite of his sandwich in a futile attempt to stifle his words. It didn't matter, though, as they had already come.

His tail flitted over the smooth case of his violin and his ears twitched, realizing after a brief moment what it was. Right... That song... He swallowed his mouthful and beamed back, saying, "After we eat I can play you a song, okay? I know you had wanted me to before, and now I've got a song to play." Of course he had a song to play, he had been up almost all night composing it just for the occasion... and just for Basil.

The cat watched the waves silently as he listened to the other. When the other coughed, his ears twitched slightly and chuckled lightly as he smiled at Jigue. He had caught what he had meant to cover. "I think England would be a wonderful trip with you too."

He moved back and took a bite of his own sandwich. They were good. <3 Tail flicking Basil looked at Jigue. " A song...? Oh yes! i cant wait to here it!" The veling purred enthusiastically.

He sighed with relief, glad that his own words that he had stumbled over had made sense. At least, in the way he wanted them to. His tail waved behind him in his happiness, content just to sit in the momentary lapse of silence that followed, just being with Basil. The roaring of the waves next to them, the sereneness of the day, the warmth of the air, the brightness of the day... it was almost as if the day was set aside just for them. He purred at the thought, happily munching on his sandwich as his smile seemed only to grow.

His sandwich was almost completely eaten by the time he had heard Basil answer about the song. A hand reached out to pull the violin in closer to his body while he finished up his piece, ready for when he settled into the right mood. Right now he was still slightly nervous about it; after all, he had never really performed in front of an audience of any sort. However, he was sure he could do it; after all, if he couldn't do it in front of Basil, the one he trusted the most and felt the most comfortable around, how would he ever be able to show anyone his music?

"Just tell me when you're done," he said, slightly muffled by the crashing of the waves as he turned his head down slightly. Honestly, though, he couldn't wait to show him. He had put his heart into creating a song that expressed what he felt when around Basil, and in such a short amount of time it was a wonder how he had done it. He had been so inspired, most of the time was taken into refining the tune instead of writing the actual piece of music itself.

Basil smiled, his tail curling around the other on along the blanket as he ate his sandwich. He couldnt wait to hear the song. He had thought about it all since yesterday. <3 Purring he finished his sandwich.

"All done. I cant wait to hear it! I bet it's amazing."

Jigue finished up his last bit of sandwich and brushed off his hands, stalling slightly for time as he warmed himself up emotionally. He froze briefly as he felt Basil's tail slide around him and, upon realizing what it was, smiled. He was still a little red from the blush that hadn't completely dissipated, but he had hardly noticed as he took up his violin and undid the latches holding the case shut. He pulled out the cherrywood violin in a graceful sweep, holding the bottom of it under his chin and running the bow along the strings, tuning them as he went. He was still stalling slightly as he relaxed himself, controlling his breathing. It was difficult, though, as the cat had always been pretty antisocial up until now, preferring to remain silent in front of people than going so far as to play them music.

It didn't need much tuning, however, so Jigue hadn't long to prepare himself. Despite this, he felt himself warming up to the idea quickly, getting into the mood of the song long before he thought he would be able to. Flipping open the thick notepad he used to punch in the notes of songs, he ran his fingers over the punctured paper to refresh his memory of the song before situating himself into a comfortable position to play.

He didn't know how long to make the song, as he could add in numerous parts to it and, if in the right mood, would be able to play it for a long while, if his arm would allow such the exercise. He shrugged off the question and decided to just go with the flow; if it seemed the right time to stop, he would, otherwise he would keep going.

He started off wit ha slide across the strings with his bow, getting a feel for each strand was without having to look at them. He positioned his fingers at the tops of each string so he could feel where they were, lightly as to not strain the sound (almost at a hover) and began the piece. It started off as a pretty mellow song with a happy tone to it and progressively got more jumpy. The notes at some points were hard to follow as his hand moved quickly, the bow seeming to flow over the strings like water. He almost made it look easy, but after a lifetime to practice it was no wonder. The tip of his tail seemed to twitch to certain notes and his smile was wide; he was having a great time playing the song and his body language seemed to show it.

Basil leaned forward a bit as he listened intently. His ears flicked as if literally catching the flying notes... It was an amazing song. As he had thoughtm the other feline was an amazing violinist.

He was in awe while he listened and when it finished... He just sat there and listened... Once the other fleine was done, he just sat watching him... the only thing he could say was... "wow..."

When he had slid the bow across the last string, leaving it off on a resounding note, his visage seemed to display how much he had binded himself with the song as he played, almost as if he wasn't aware of anything else. However, at the resulting silence as the music faded, his ears twitched too the wind and his initial nervousness came flooding back, but it was mostly hopeful as he turned to Basil.

The orange feline's reaction too the song made a furious blush appear on Jigue's face, obvious euphoria playing in his mind. He liked it! He liked it! he said in his mind, a wide grin splayed across his pink face. However, as his voice was held steadfast within his throat, it was a bit longer before he could say anything. His tail twitched slightly as it hovered in the air and his pale hand found its way to Basil's tail, which was still wrapped around him, as he gave it a slight hug with hands alone. "Basil, I... that song..." he tried, but it was no use. He was unable to say that the song was made just for him, was inspired by him, and was only for his ears; the words just wouldn't come. At a loss, Jigue said the closest thing he could get to that, "I'm really glad you liked it."

His hands jumped to his face, still a little giddy and happy over the fact that Basil liked his song, but also nervous about his own feelings toward him. He didn't know how to approach with this feeling inside of him, which only got stronger after he played the song, showing his heart to Basil through the media he could express it best. He had never felt this way before, even a little bit, and he felt as though it was possible he had done something wrong by playing that song. If Basil didn't like him the same way... but then again, what about all he had done for him? It was all so confusing...

Without a second thought on it, he bit the bullet and purposefully leaned into Basil's arm, as if asking for a hug but content just to stay like that. He purred, hoping his assumptions were correct.

Basil grinned at seeing how happy the other was and he purred contently. When the other feline leaned against him he smiled warmly and wrapped his arms around the other. "Youre a wonderful violinist Jigue." He purred. Smiling he continued to speak, "And the song was absolutley amazing. I dont think Ive ever heard anything so filled with emotion, so... alive."

His ear gave a small flick as he kissed the top of the others head as he held him loosely, but in a bit of a possesive way.

As Basil's arms wrapped around him, Jigue's heart jumped; however it was all in excitement rather than the fear or surprise he usually felt along with it, making it an experience all its own. It was a great getaway from his usual attitude, something he always wished he could change in some ways, and Basil was making it all seem possible.

Jigue gripped onto the arms that held him, beaming hugely as he buried his face into Basil's arms and hugged him back, tempted to twist himself around and give him a full-on hug but unable to at the present time. "Thank you!" he chirped happily, though it was slightly muffled as he refused to lift his head. His ears twitched as they caught Basil's description of what he liked about his song, which only made Jigue want to bury his head further, not to hide but rather for comfort. "I'm really glad you liked it... I stayed up all night to get it to sound just right."

He slid down as he finished that sentence, hoping he hadn't revealed too much for fear of being rejected (though he hardly said anything to reject) yet simultaneously hoping Basil had caught the notion. His tail flopped over his own lap but was long enough to fall over Basil's as well. His heart skipped a beat or two when he felt the kiss atop his head, wishing that he had enough courage to return the kiss. But how was he to do that when he wasn't altogether sure Basil wasn't just being friendly? Regardless he leaned back into him, upturned face so he could smile directly at him.

Basil purred contently and steadily as he held the other feline. He enjoyed the others warmth in combonation with his own and could easily get used to it.

Chuckling at the others statement of staying up all night he grinned, "So full of devototion, so dedicated. Thats a good trait." He smiled happily down at the other. He was so cute ~ Gently he lifted a hand to gently stroke the others cheek as he purred. "Youre so cute when you smile ~ It's a pity when you dont."

He liked when Jigue was relaxed and he was glad he was relaxed around him. It made things so much nicer and he was sure it couldnt be fun to be all tensed up all the time, worrying. It was to much stress. Basil had tried that but he never got anywhere so now he just takes what comes at him without worry of what next .

Jigue blushed at the compliment Basil had given him, wishing he could be as direct with his own feelings as well. There was so much he wanted to say, but his heart pounded so furiously that it hurt whenever he thought about what he was going to say, and his tongue forgot the words as he opened his mouth. His ears twitched back slightly at his exasperation, but was completely content just to stay put.

His cheeks burned more furiously as he felt Basil's hand stroke his cheek, complying with the comment and giving the darker feline a bright smile. "Th-Thank you..." he stammered, leaning back into Basil's shoulder. He knew he wanted to say more, knew it wouldn't be as awkward if he did, but he couldn't. His heart was racing again as he thought of what he was going to say, but nothing sounded good enough.

Facing himself back forward he began fiddling with the handle of his violin case. This wouldn't do... he needed to say something, anything! It was messing him up to wonder what if on everything... So he figured maybe he could just work up to what he wanted to say. "Hey Basil... I wanted to thank you for taking me out here today. Nobody has ever been so nice to me right off the bat like this, and I really appreciate everything you've done to me. I really want to ask you why you've done all this for me, even when I was just a stranger to you, but I know that it's just your way. You're naturally kind like that, and I like that about you. You're a rare find out here," he explained, though it appeared like he was fixated on the handle as he became slightly uncomfortable, wondering how he was going to put his thoughts into words. "I really like you, Basil. I haven't known you for very long, but I do. I can't help it," he squeaked, trying to justify his feelings. He was almost afraid to know what Basil's next words would be, but either way they went, at least he would know for sure.
