Since he said something to her, she waved back to Kahlin. Casually, she said, "Hello." She went back to looking around there were plenty of people near Kahlin and R'ael, she doubted they would bother much with her, it suited her just fine.

Gem trilled above her, telling her she saw someone, and sent the mental image of the rude Queen.

She could almost sense her little gold's agitation remembering it, but told her to keep looking for a little longer.

"Really? I nearly said patch since the multicolor hair reminded me as a calico patch on a cat." He sigh watching G'dor sulk off. "I don't get why he blames you for his not waking up on time. I guess you two have been aruging a lot then."

He paused and looked back at Caleten and waved. "Hello," he said. This was getting odd but he guess this happened at parties. He just had been to shy to ever notice it. Kahlin sigh and cuddled Sonia to calm the unhappy hissing flit.

"I'll tell him later but I'm not sure it will make a difference." He admitted. "...Not so much arguing...not like that fight in the Weyr bowl....but he won't let it drop that I called him a Parasite. He thinks it's better that he told everyone that I was a skirt chaser." This earned a disgusted snort, then he lifted his own hand to wave at Caleten. "Boy. I bet that just helped both our reputations so much." Cale seemed to be bound and determined to ignore them, which made him feel bad.

N'tren had come down and seen the argument between G'dor and R'ael. He knew the two brothers were constantly at odds with each other and were stalking away from each other fairly often. But he, like many of the other weyrlings, had simply ignored it. Not his place, N'tren decided... Unless it interfered with fighting Thread when they got older. Then it would matter to all.

They will learn eventually. Datiath's thoughts broke into his own.

"I sure hope so. It does dragonriders no good to have petty arguments. Doing well love?" N'tren's voice warmed up.

Very well. I see the excitement through your eyes.

Looking around, N'tren noticed a familiar backside sitting at one of the tables. He was almost positive it was her; she had managed to make it back to the Weyr.

"Caleten?" He called out cautiously. N'tren counted her as someone to know even if she would never be his friend. "Is that you?"

Caleten waved back to R'ael, again she was trying not to attract attention by being at least civil. Gem came out of between by her elbow and chirped that she had seen someone she recognized and at that moment, she heard N'tren's voice saying her name. She looked at her little queen and softly told her, "Thanks for the warning." Of course she still stroked the little queen who was being to sulk like a child who thought they did something well and got in trouble for it.

With a happy queen, she took a deep breath and turned half around. With close to a smile she remarked,"Yes it is I. Hello, N'tren." Her posture was still ridged, but for the sake of trying not to stand out, which didn't appear to be working, she was other wise rather nonhostile--closer to being down right friendly.

Gem trilled her happy greeting to N'tren, and even sent Caleten the image and smell of klah cake, as if she had forgotten.

A strangled amused sound anwered. "Skirt chaser? I'm sure if you where you wouldn't have time to talk to me, let alone build the pool. You would be chasing the ladies." He shook his head, blond hair flopping in his eyes and pushed it back.

"Sure it did. You're the calm one; he blows up it makes it easier to judge what you can say near you." Sonia calmed enough for him to place the flit back on his shoulder. "Don't worry R'ael. I'm sure they will forget. It is a party after all. Your fight can't be the only one."

"Maybe not the only one but it was certainly a noisy one...He really does need to get a hold on his temper though. I wonder if it was there all along. I never really noticed before." he said thoughtfuly, shuffling nervously. "Anyway...it's too nice a day to be letting him get everyone down...why don't we see what we can find to do, hm?"

The rider seemed almost hesitant in his words. Bethan was not especially adept at reading people, but was that... fear, or just simple apprehension? Ah, either way, he would survive. They all survived in the end.

"It's very nice to meet you. I suppose this is silly to ask, but..." Bethan bit her lip. Suddenly she felt nervous, but it was a rather abrupt request to ask of someone she just met. It had to come out though.

"Could I meet your dragon... If you don't mind that is. I only ever met the Searchrider's dragon, and I'm so keen on getting to know them." And studyl them, she added silently. Dragon anatomy looked fascinating.

If he had been surprised by her forwardness before, this latest turn in the conversation threatened to send the reclusive bronzerider back to the comfort of his weyr. Social situations were just not his forte.

I do not mind, bring her to the bowl so I may land... I would like to see what it is the search dragons see...

Sei... I am not comfortable with this...

Why? She is a candidate and can ask from us what she wishes. She is the future and the future must be well educated.

Instead of replying right away, P'athen mulled over his dragon's words, sparing a few glances in Bethan's direction. Dragons are not supposed to think far ahead Sei... He thought with a twinge of pride, Sei had always been the sharp sort.. which had gotten the pair into a great deal of trouble as weyrlings.

Shells, just tell her yes, then ask her to dance later.

By this time P'athen had opened his mouth to say something to Bethan, but the last comment nearly made him choke. SEI!

"I'm sorry about that, of course you can meet him. I apologize in advance if he appears a bit... untraditional; we've had an interesting road."

One cue one pair of dark wings spread upward and fanned against the turnover sky, framing one set of whirling blue-green eyes.

Interesting would barely begin to describe it ridermine, I hope she is not bothered by the scars. They really do not hurt me.

"It might of been..perhaps he just kept all his emotions burried when he was bully and now they fizzed over." Kahlin grin. "I would like that. Not much is going on here yet so what where you thinking of?"

Giving a whistle as a greeting to Gem, N'tren sat down though not too close to Caleten. He waved over a drudge, once again, happy that he was not behind the scenes this night. Smiling, he turned and tried to make conversation.

"How have your travels been? Have you fared well since we last spoke?"

In this middle of this pretty speech, his voice broke. Going from a light tone to a more squeaky one, N'tren blushed in embaressment. After all, he was fifteen turns and on the brink of manhood.

"I'm not sure, maybe we should make an effort to meet a few more people?" He suggested. "I guess I don't really socialize much outside of class, and it wouldn't hurt your chanses to be on the sands next hatching..."

Caleten heard the break, she had teased her older brothers when she was younger, only one of the things she had against them. It told her about how old he was, and that she was older, not by much mind you.

However, she didn't tease, although it was amusing to think anyone could call a bronze rider 'mousey'. It served the benefit of causing her to lightly smile, a real one. "I haven't been caught out in any Thread this turn. Besides a few scuffles, the travels were nothing out of the ordinary, rather peaceful." She was probably one of the only one that could recount feline incounters, days of not eating, and living everyday wondering if Thread would fall as peaceful.

Gem was delighted with N'tren, the whistle did it. She walked over to him, butting her head against his hand and sat down in front of him. With a till, she demanded to be petted. She also listened to her friend, and picked up the images of the 'scuffles' her eyes went red a moment, in fast whirl. She remembered them, but Caleten's stroke to her back and soothing images calmed her.

N'tren blushed a little deeper. Dutifully, the bronze rider began to scratch Gem with a fierceness. She seemed to be quite happy. Listening to her basic sketch of events, he wondered what memory would upset her gold but held off on asking.

"At least you and yours are in good health. As for scuffles, as long as you won and it was for good reason... Can't complain. For me and Datiath, it has been lessons and more lessons. We can fly straight aways now."

He paused and bespoke to Datiath. Caleten is here and talking with me.

Up on the ledges, one head turned and looked down. Giving a bugle of greeting, Datiath left N'tren to explain.

"He says hello by the way." Another squeak at the end of that comment. "Fifteen turns and soon I will sound like breaking glass I suppose."

Gem was happy and crooned out her delight with N'tren. He was a good human and she liked him.

Caleten thought about just how much she wanted to tell him. Being in a conversation would most likely keep others at bay, and she supposed he was a lesser evil compared to most men.

Nodding lightly, Gem was certainly happy to be around him, and he seemed to care about their wellbeing, not soo bad. "I won every fight, never started them." She listened to him talk about Datiath and wondered how big he had gotten. The bugle gave her an idea, looking towards the direction, she was very glad the dragon had done that, instead of barging in to her mind without warning as he had done the last time.

Gem tilted her head when she heard the bugle, and trilled softly. She wanted to go up and say 'hi' but was enjoying the scratching

"Good to hear, if you well, tell him I send my greetings as well. How big is he now?" She was curious how huge the bronze would get, she knew so little about dragons, that it was a great choice for conversation.

Holding back a chuckle, she did not laugh in front of others, "I'd say more mousey then breaking glass." There, she compared any part of a bronze dragon rider to a mouse, this she would laugh on later.
