91. Drowning.
Little Red Riding Hood walked through Dropdown Woods, staying quiet so as not to attract the Wolf of Suburbia.
Arriving at Sapphire Sea, she heard the cries of the water babies from underneath Her current.
At once, her papoose jumps out, dives in, sinks down.
She knows this isn't how it's supposed to go, so she follows.
Sinking down, he cannot be found and she's choking on dead air.
She cries, "Oh Demeter, he's always lurking, I've got to escape from his chains."
Emerging from the shadows, she begs for a sign of life but only catches the Wolf departing.

This is the first time I've travelled that deep into the collective unconscious. And the first time I couldn't put in words what I saw. The right words do not exist. But this is the closest I could get. The state of emergency, the panic, was overwhelming.

92. All that I have.
She's a bloodline of stories oozing.
Just dripping memories on the bathroom floor.
A lollipop world is laid to rest..

94. Last hope.
Arriving like a Divine Spark, she takes me to the Dirt again and says:
"Dig in. Get out. Find your rabbit hole. You've got to hide my little fairy, they can smell your loss."

She had it on display. How else would anyone notice? Got your own brand going, everyone wants a piece of your desperation.

96. In the Storm.
We only speak in shades of grey.
Styrofoam cups full of lost life, count the days since he plunged.
The veil continues to tear, as you claw at the ground, searching for your safe place.
That bayou that could keep you afloat when Lucifer whispers in your ear.

97. Safety First.
Her eyes keep me locked down; focused on the exits.
We swell into red balloons; aware the danger of being deflated, we risk it anyway, just so we can float into welcoming skies and maybe, just maybe, escape the sullen world we created.

100. Relaxation.
Lily,
The threat of being alone in a space no longer exists. I persist because I accept all that is there. Anger, fear, sorrow, happiness; they all have a place. In me, in you. I accept that. I live with it. I breathe it. I wait for it to pass. It's ok to be alone once you can live with what is there. Inside and around you. I can be my own safe place. Lily, you are welcome, but you are not needed. I no longer need to live through you; I can live with myself now. My steps are bigger. My head doesn't get dizzy so often. I exhibit sweet honey smiles for all; no more exclusions. My future, I am not sure of. I am constantly rewriting it; but this, this I can be sure of. It seems to be constant even when circumstances are not.
The fairies will continue to guide my way as long as I trust in them. The sky is no longer on fire when I awake. The dirt has been cleared away from underneath my fingernails.
I hold on to our journey, and I will go back to it when I begin to question again. But right now, this peace is all I need. A welcomed rest from those crashing waves.
Hold on my dear Lily, we've got so much to see now that our eyes are open and the clouds have lifted.

Well this took a long time in the making.
Started: June 6th of 2006 Ended: July 6th of 2007
Exactly 1 year and 1 month.
So please, feel free to read and comment if you like. Hearing what you all think is greatly appreciated, since I did work hard on this.

I just read all the ones on this page, and oh my gods above, are they beautiful.
"We only speak in shades of grey." [<--I am so stealing this.]
That line really got to me. I don't understand the overall message of your poetry, Tak, but I take lines bit by bit...and they're amazing.
The way you think is just beautiful.

Update; just finished the first page. Your style was rather different back them, and wow, it actually had a linear plot.....I'm surprised. O.o
I think I might do this. You know, it's funny--the themes correspond almost perfectly with the chapters of Ametris.
Sorry. OCD.
