the thing that gets me is people who say they vegetarians eat fish. aren't fish meat?
Yeah those aren't vegetarians, they're pesticarians or something like that >.> <.< I can't remember the name! Some "vegetarians" just aren't very well informed and just call themselves that.
i guess but....i just feel sorry for the fish for they aren't being concidered as anything
Yeah I fail to see the logic behind it too... I mean if they call themselves vegetarians because they don't want to eat animals shouldn't the realize they're eating animals if they're eating fish? confused Those people are obviously not the sharpest tools in the shed
if any shed
xd nice burn there Viral
thank you Sanzo

Sanzo...

We don't eat meat on some days, but we eat fish right, why is this allowed? Lol. Why can't they be a different kind of vegetarian?

O.o I can't expand right now.
Oh yeah you mean on the Friday's during Lent right? Yeah... I didn't get that either... what is the difference between being able to eat fish and meat on those days? *sigh* Our religion has such confusing parts

Don't tell me what religion I am, I know what religion I am and you have NO right to tell me what I follow and what I don't follow. I never ASKED you for information I am simply stating reasons that vegetarians are vegetarians, I never said I was one. Stop making assumptions.

Catholics follow the teaching of the bible. That's what Catholicism is about. You don't. You're not part of that religion. It's as simple as that.
STOP TRYING TO TELL ME WHAT RELIGION I AM! I may not follow the Bible but I follow a lot of the Catholic practices and THAT'S what counts more than anything.

There's no gray area in Catholicism. You are, or you aren't. Following "a lot" of it's practices is ridiculous. Why do you do it? Why not all of them?
Stop trying to derail this into my religion, what I believe in religion is my own goddamn business. I have my reasons, I have questioned my religion and found it much easier to stay in the religion because I agree with more of it then I disagree with. What I believe is my own decision, it is what I choose to believe don't tell me I'm wrong for calling myself Catholic

Religion doesn't bend to suit you. It's the other way around. Particularly one quite so clearly defined. If you only follow the practices you like, what's the point of having a religion?

Thankies. 3nodding

On Topic:

I'm not a vegitarian. There are certain animals I'd feel uncomfortable eating (I have an affinity for dogs and cats, having them for pets), but as long as the animal is not endangered or a danger to my health (diseases and whatnot), I guess it's fair game. I'll elaborate on this if you all wish.

If it was my dog, or my cat, I'd agree. If I was homeless, and I didn't know the cat, and couldn't get anything to eat, well...I'm sure no one would judge me. Much.

An ingenious use of my username mispelled there ¬_¬

I have strong opinions on that particular subject. No one wants to hear them.

I wanted an explaination of how vegetarianism didn't defy all natural logic. Eventually, I got one. YOu were probably all trying to say the same thing, but it took a while for it to be written in a way I could understand. Potentially, a fault on my part.

yeah... i crack me up xd

and pardon if i'm mistaken, but i didn't wuite see anyone else make reference to being trapped in a feking meat locker.

seriously... if i am mocking you... it's half to keep a light hearted mood, and half out of a lack of respect since you seem to be showing very little to others, and have COMPLETELY ignored what i said.
nobody else mentioned a meatlocker. or horrifying experiences that cause people to not eat meat. did you not comment because you had nothing to say on the subject? is it because i'm right and you'd rather not admit defeat? hmm? or not? prove me wrong man. neutral

and i just realized i was ganging up on you... sweatdrop sorry if i seem a bit rude... and i know i can be... i just really don't like being ignored, especially when i'm only trying to contribute.

I repeat STOP TELLING ME WHAT THE HELL I FOLLOW! No religion is going to be exactly to a person's belief despite what you may think. I follow the religion that most closely resembles my own beliefs.

I don't react well to some vegetarians... I, myself, beleive that all animals and people are equal... Therefore, we are all game on the scale of the food-chain.

There was a girl I knew (not very bright, imo) who became vegetarian because of the videos and stuff she saw online... A lot of them made by the PETA (never liked them)... So I have for a while associated vegetarianism (veganism, especially...) with her... an instant aversion to the idea >_<

I'd need more of an explaination on the health-reasons... :/ you can get the same balance of benefits and complications no matter which diet you choose... Cept the "raw foods" diet... that's just funny!

Yeah, that's my stance, more or less.

Wasn't it you who said "humans are at the top of the food chain"?

Yep, we're at the top. If an animal lower down on it thinks it can eat me, it's welcome to try. It might succeed. If so, it doesn't mean that humans as a species are any less low on the food chain; just that the bear/wolf/pig got lucky.

ok... is that based on your religious beleifs, or what? What religion are you?

That's a result of a serious trauma. While terrible, it's not a rational or a logical decision. I didn't comment on it because it got lost somewhere int he other flood of comments.

I didn't start this thread expecting to be showered with acceptance. Carry on ^_^

If you don't follow the same beliefs as Catholics, you are not a Catholic. You just incorporate some of their beliefs into your own personal belief system, and you don't follow a religion. Stop claiming that you do.

Partially on the idea that we're inherently superior; partially on the idea that it took 50,000 or so years of evolution to get to this point, and that we owe it to our ancestors to be the ones eating the other animals.
