actually, if an entity was omniscient, wouldn't that entity know how to defy the laws of logic? and thus could know everything and grant us free-will?

I don't think it would be possible. This stems from my belief that logic is not necessarily man-made. I believe that it was a necessary ideal/what have you for the universe/anything to even be.

Well, let us assume that there is an all-powerful being that created Life, the universe, and everything. That means that before then, only that being existed. Therefore, the laws of "Logic", "Physics", "Time", and "Space", did not apply. So, these laws would be created to bring "order" to the universe. So, with all these created, what would be there purpose without free will? If we did not have free will, what would be the purpose of us living our lives, and, follow a traditional monotheistic belief pattern, being punished/rewarded at the end for decisions we did not have a choice in?

Er, sorry to drop in on the debate after the long abscence, but it looked enticing.

Like I said, I believe logic was necessary for the entity to even be.

i agree with you, but if you think about it, then something can't be omniscient in a universe where logic is... well... universal. i find that interesting.
