Reiha grined at the compliment, then looked over to Erik. "Oh don't mind Adian. He doens't know anything about anything anyway. He isn't in charge of me. Honest" she told Erik, frowning at the thought that Adian could keep her from anything she wanted to do.
Nothing pissed her off more than that thought. Adian had no right to have the power to deney her anything. She was made enough when he forced Korbin to be outside most of the time. She was suppose to be in charge of her own life right?

Erik sighed and rbbed his temples for a moment.. Forcing himself to see in the dark had given him a headache. "I.. Reiha.. You have to tell him.. What if soemthing goes wrong and you get hurt again? If he doens't kwo what's going n, he won't be able to help.."
Berial looked over at Reiha and noodded in agreement with his guardian. He coudln't be around to ave her all the time, so someone needed to take care of her while she was away from him.

"I don't need his help!" Reiha stomped her foot, like any spoiled child. "I don't! I'm smarter than him. I'm stronger than him. And I'm BETTER! All he has over me is age and height" Reiha was mad, she didn't need anyone! Not a single soul. Much less Adian. "He doesn't even really care about me. You saw how happy he was to get rid of me. I wish he never picked me up. And I bet he wishes the exact same thing!"

Erik took a few steps back.. He didn't know what to do.. He wasn't used to this whole parenting busness and a child throwing a tantrum. He'd never handlled one of those.
Berial frowned as bhe looked over at Reiha. "but what if you get hurt again.." He mumbled. "What if you get hurt and there's noone there, Reiha.." His eyes started to tear slightly.. What if she was alone..

Nothing cut though Reiha's temper like Berial's tear. It died just as suddenly as it came. She moved over to Berial quickly, giving him a hug. She didn't like to see her friends cry. It was one thing to yell at Erik. he wasn't trying he just looked like someone slaped him in the face. But Berial...she hadn't meant to make him cry.
"I wont be alone" she promised, "I'll never practice magic alone. I'll have korbin with me Berial. Korbin or Erik. I'll be okay. Honest. Adian doesn't do anything for me anyway. Telling him would just worry him needlessly. Honest"

"But what if Korbin's out hunting? What fi something goes wrong?" He said, crying into her shoudler softly in fear. "what if you're alone.." He mumbled, clinging to her.
Erk watched for a moment before moving to Berial's side.. "It's jsut another safety precaution, Reiha.." He said softly, placing a hand on his charged back and rbbing i gently to try to calm his tears..

"I wont be alone" Reiha tried to protest, even as she held Berial to her, stroking his hair as she let him cry, "I wont. I promise I wont ever practice magic alone" Berial managed to charm lots of promises out of Reiha, ones she truly meant to keep. Never practice magic alone.
"Will it really make you feel better?" Reiha asked Berial, "If I tell Adian about me wanting to learn magic. Will that make you calm down and feel better?"

The small boy nodded. Adian was big and he would protect Reiha when he couldn't be there with her. He sniffled.. "I just.m' scared.." He said simply..
Erik continiued rubbing his back.. berial seemed to gain much better responses from Reiha so her remained quiet. His boy was so scared, thogugh.. He'd coem to think of Berial as his boy and now.. he jsut felt at a loss..

"Berial" Reiha pulled back, making him look at her, "Berial, I promise, I'll be as safe as I possibly can. And remember, if I'm hurt I'm telling you" her hand moved up stroked his cheek.
"And I'll tell Adian, and he'll watch over me. And so will Korbin and I wont be alone. I wont be alone. If I'm hurt someone will come tell you, and everything will be alright. Okay Berail? Everything is going to be alright. I'm okay, you're okay and I'm not alone. Now please stop crying."

She won't be alone.. He sniffled again, taking his sleeve ad brushing it against his cheek to get rid of the tears. "Ok.." He said.. She wouldn't be alone, so she'd be ok..
Erik shuffled in his pocket as Berial drew his face away, pulling out a small handkerchief. Brushing it across Berial's cheeks, he jsut nodded. "There there.. none of us will be alone. ok?"
Berial just nodded. He didn't want anyone to be alone.

Reiha gave a smile and gave him another hug, "come on" she said softly, again, tugging him over to the fishtank. "Let's tell Hurburt about what you learned about the stars today" she urged. She wanted him to get his mind of of sad things.
"I bet Huburt would like to know all about the stars and how they watch over people. Don't forget to tell him about how you found Korbin in the stars and everything. I want to talk to Erik about my lessons" she said honestly, slipping away as she headed over to Erik.
"When can I start my lessons?" she asked him.

Berial situated himself in front of the tank nd nodded, ebfore turning to the cave and startign to talk. He told Hubert about hsi star, and Reiha's star and Korbin's star, and prett soon, he was smilign again, chatting with the octopus, who seemed to jsut listen intently. "and then there were this really big group. Those were Korbin's.. Do you know where your stars are? I'm sure you have alot.
Erik twiddled the handerkerchief in his fingers.. "I.. I'd like you to read a book on the introduction to magic before we begin.. We can start as soon as you're done reading it."

"Okay that will only take me a few days" she asured him as she went over to her bag and pulled out the book she showed Berial before. "Does this book work?" she asked him, showing it to Erik. "Or do you want me to get another book. Do you have the book you want me to get?"
Reiha was clearly quite determained to get this started. She wasn't scared of hard work. Especailly if it meant fullfilling her dreams. She glanced out. One day she would fly! She was sure of it now. She saw it in the flash of light, flying in the sky. Free and happy.

Erik took a glance at the book and shook his head. "That book is much to high level. I have a book I can give you." He said. He noticed the determined tone in her voice. It was what made him say yes.
"But.. I.. you're clear, Reiha, righ? In the fact that I'm not a teacher.. I never had a master, I learned out of books.." He said. He wantd ehr to know. He was not the most skilled caster. He couldn't work magic without a catalyt, liek crystals or other things.

"You know more than I know" Reiha said simply and she glanced over to Berial. "If I get hurt, like i was hurt today, minorly. Can we not tell Berial? He gets so scared. If I'm majorly hurt I have to tell him. I promised him I would but if it's nothing important I don't want to worry him. He gets so worked up over nothing and I know he just wants to protect me but life include pain and joy, and I don't want him to get so worked up. He's really nice and he doesn't deserve that" Reiha was so calm and determained.
