Charles wanders into the place, with his assault rifle this time, and a trolley with a long and not-too thin crate on it. He showed the people scanning him at the entrance the contents of the crate, A Railgun, and they let himpass, cautiously. The railgun wont fit into any of the racks so Cady leans it against the wall and looks around his new base a second time, This time he felt more at home here but it was still a long way from a HQ tent. He takes out the locket which was always by his chest and kisses it before puting it back in, and he calls out.

"Oi, sowhich lay-about here is the boss?"

to the lounge in general.

As Len continued down the hall, Lydia folliwng him, he took in her questions. He snorted at the first comment and ignored it, moving on to the second. He looked over his shoulder slightly and arched an eyebrow. "Digging into my un-rested mind again eh Lydia?" He said, sounding a little annoyed and coming across in a rude tone. He then stopped and turned to face her.

"Eh...sorry about that, I guess I really do need some sleep. I've just been busy is all." He fibbed, looking around the hallway, a couple people walking by every now and then. "Probably after my meeting with William, I'll get some sleep and be good as new. Though, you've seemed a little tired as well, best you get some and don' end up like me." He laughed, turning and looking forward again, picking up the leisure movement.

He looked at the clock and shruged, deciding to go see William now since there was only ten minutes until the specified time. He looked to his side, the large tear in his shirt on his side revealing the bruise. He didn't care much, just another battle mark for others to gawk upon. He smiled to himself and continued towards Will's office, not bothering to worry about wether or not Lydia was still behind him. She would talk when she wanted to be present.

"I..." She trailed off as he left, feeling like it was not a good idea to follow. She had read his mind? Yes, that had to be it, only she had not wanted to, and did not try too. She looked at the cross on her necklace. "Why didn't you stop me?" She whispered to it, knowing the piece of metal covered in spells to keep her still growing powers under control. Still growing wasn't the right term though...not fully contained would be a better one, if still not completely accurate still. REst...Len needed rest, but her last nightmare...her continuing nightmare....was still fresh in her mind. But she knew good sense when she heard it, and did not think it would be passed someone to order her to sleep. She walked back to her room at Haven, opening the door with a sigh and closing it with another.

Krii'Ouse had had enough sleep. His nightmare woke him mid-dream. He donned his black attire, cowled himself, and hooded his hair. He grabbed his black reflecting shades as well. He left his room, heading for the mess hall.

As he entered he heard a British voice ask, 'Oi, so which lay-about here is the boss?' This upset Krii'Ouse. These people were not 'lay-abouts.' They were hard working Hunters! Risking their lives to save the ignorant populace of Demonic New York.

Krii'Ouse walked up to the British bloke and stood adamantly.

'Look, mate. These people are hard workers. We stay up literally all night, watching the asses of the lazy blokes out there in bloody New York. Now, I suggest you take back those words. I am not very pleasant to those who insult the people I work with.' His stance was stern, and demanding, one could see it through the cowl that he was angry. His young attitude demanded respect, even from one so much older than himself. He knew this man was his elder, and he should be resoecting him, but nothing insults his friends. He will not stand for that.

His face hidden in the cowl, and his sunglasses, his anonymity was what was more demanding of respect. Krii'Ouse had things he needed to do, but he would wait for this man to apologise before checking on Marcus for his swords.

Charles looks at the person confronting him, and laughs a dry humorless laugh.

"Listen son, I'm not very pleasent to people I let call me friend, and I'm even less pleasent to everyone else. I'm a grumpy old man but I'm an old man who knows how to fight. I've spent one half my life taking orders and the other half giving them so I want to know who gives me my orders, and I'll give them to anyone junior to me. understand? good, now bugger off and bother someone with a longer temper."

Skiaska smield as she saw Krii'Ouse. "Krii! How do y-" Stopping when she heard soem anger in his voice, she blinked curiously at the exchange of words. Gently tapping the man on the shoulder, she smiled. "I'm sorry, sir, but please do not insult my fellow hunters." Bowing a little, she smiled even more. "And, you do not look that old. I'm sorry if I was interuppting." She then went ot Krii'Ouse and looked at him questioningly.

Charles begins to rant again to the woman being condescendingly polite.

"I was not bloody insulting anyone. You see this place? this place is a den of luxury! you people don't understand the hardships you have to fight in a real war. I've fought with no more than a tent and a broken down Land Rover as a HQ, and with little more than a knife and my wits as a weapon! now if any of you want to get some real combat experience sign up and bugger off to Iraq, the army is now I hear."

He turns to her and he softens, but only slightly. "how old are you? 20? I'd say I've got almost three decades on you. I've been alive half a century, give or take a year. I might not be 'that' old but I'm bloody old"

Skiaska's eyes hardened slightly, but her voice held the same politeness. "I suppose you are right, you were not being harsh. Also, while you may have had the hardships of war, I had hardships known as a horrible life." She glared a little, continuing. "My mother was turned and sanpped in a blood thirsty rage. She killed my family, me the only survivor. I trained my entire life until I could kill the one who destroyed my mother. My mother died by my hand as well. Science detroyed my pride and confidence in my form, changing me into an animalistic freak. Because fo that, I was shunned by men." Skiaska had unleashed a few tears, but clenched her nails into her arm. "Don't tell me hardships when you haven't lived my life."

Charles softens some more and puts a hand on her shoulder,

"come on love don't cry on me. Never could deal with this side of things. Listen, tell the truth I only just noticed those... thing about you and im sure they must be a royal pain in the arse but I tell you the scars I've accumulated do nothing for the love life. No one wants a man with more bullet scars than buttons on his shirt, let me tell you."

he laughs, the laugh of someone remembering things that others would find horrendus. The laugh of war veterans.

"trust me, i've had my share of loss. Lost more friends than most people have had, good men. pays nothing to dwell on it though but sleepless nights and guilty days. no room for them in the army, any sleep you get is a godsend."

Skiaska furiously wiped away the tears that had fallen. "Heh. Sorry, didn't mean to get emotional..." She looked at him, a little embarressed. "I apologize for bringing back anything... Yeah, these... "features" tend to get me mistaken for a lycanthrope when I'm not careful..." Skiaska chuckled sadly and coughed a little. "By the by, my name is Skiaska. Skiaska Sperraw."

Charles tries to smile, and shakes her shoulder a little,

"That's the spirit girl. and don't worry about it, I've made my peace with the dead... well those that don't get back up and drink blood that is"

he laughs loudly but stops himself short,

"no no, but I'll make pleanty of peace with them soon enough. My name's Charles. Well it's nice to meet you, I think, Skiaska... Skiaska that's an odd name, where's it from?"
PostPosted: Mon Jul 04, 2005 11:46 am

"Skiaska was a goddess, and it literally means "Lady of Night" in a demonic language. This "Lady of Night" was a leader to demons. My father picked the name." She pressed her lips a little bitterly, but sighed, respecting the dead. "Anyway, I decided that it was exotic enough for a strange person like me." She said it jokingly, but there was a hint of sadness. Suddenly, Skiaska looked down at her attire and blushed. "Heh..."

The man laughs again,

"well I'm just Boring Charles to most, Charlie to my mum and my sweetheart, may she rest in peace... heh both of em"

he pauses for a moment and resists the urge tor each for the locket at his chest,

"And sarge to my mates... you know, lady of the night is a pretty polite name for a bloody impolite thing back where I come from, not that I'm trying to say anything about your character, just dont tell any british lads what yer name means."

Skiaska shrugged, not quite understanding. Smiling, she looked at Krii'Ouse. "I'm going to take Charles to Will. See you a little later?" Looking back to Charles, she nodded and began to head towards Will's offcie. Knocking first, she entered and held open the door. She waited for him to enter, then left, closing the door behind her. Skiaska leaned against the wall and lit a cigarette.
