The loss of 108 stars makes sense though. We have a tactical game were towns are inaccessible (in the 3D explore sense) so you can't get NPCs to stay in your home. That's why most of the character are combatants. If that wasn't the case, we'd have alot more Yohn (and who needs more of that gonk ). Plus, this isn't necessarily standalone games like the others.
But not having Viki in the game is unforgiveable! She's like franchise!

I see no purpose for Yohn. It bad she doesn't talk, but hardly in any scene.... Yohn is like wasted space....

This game is released on Thursday in Europe! I can't wait to play it! Sigurd, we meet again! heart
Anyone know if it's compatible with saved data from Suikoden IV?
Game is supposed to set like 5 years before Suikoden IV?

Game is supposed to set like 5 years before Suikoden IV? It's some years before Suikoden IV, but only briefly. The majority of the game is set (i think) 3 years after Koden IV. Yes, it is compatible with Koden IV's save data. Be sure to use it as you get a character you would love to have on your team.

Wow... wow, I just got this game last night and boy it's a lot harder than most other Suikoden games. Not to mention that they keep dying all the time. >.>; Silly Maxine...
Anyways, Pablo just failed a quest, should I continue or do I get something special if you complete all the quests?

You can always just redo the fail quest after a couple ingame days. And don't do the X & Co. quests if you want Chiepoo to prosper and sell some nice items. And that also leads to 4 extra characters. On the flip side, if Chiepoo goes out of business, he sells Hunter Runes.

I'm using Hero, Seneca, Kika, Sigurd, Eugene, Flare and Hero IV. I think I should add a magician for the last spot, but there are no good... it seems. >.<; Haven't gotten them yet though. And where's Viki and Jeane? >.>; (don't answer about Viki and Jeane, if they do show up, I want it to be a surprise. ^^)

Other appearance was in 3 and this game Why are you calling him hero? They actually gave him a name this time 3nodding Rita's overall a good characer. She's the first character you can recruit so she should be leveled up accordingly. Tristan is good because he excels in speed. Bog him down with speed boosters and he could be getting two turns to almost anyone (especially if you have him mounted on an owl) Oh and if you get him, Nalleo. He's has the potential to be a tank. That's really it for the early on.

Keep on leveling up Flare, and start equipping her with items that either raise attack or evasion, and totally ignore her defence levels. Then level any skills that increase evasion and anything to prolong her survival, but ignore any skills that has an activation word (meaning the word will appear in battle before it activates. for example, Block or Parry), and Battle Lust for they will not work when on a mount.
Then once you have a Giant Owl, mount Flare on it, and now you have a sniper of death. The evasion boosts from the owl itself along with any from Skills or equipment will leave her with about a 80 to 90% chance to dodge all physical attacks. Plus, mounting her increases her attack range by 1, and cannot be hit with melee attacks if she's hanging over a pit at least two spaces away from solid ground. But be careful of magic, for they will hit regardless. Do the same thing with Frederica and you have two snipers of death.
When I outfitted those two like mention above, they've been much more useful than a handful of other characters, and have a much higher kill count than an average archer would.
