Jamal was not entirely stupid.
While the whole effects with the light path and whatnot were so alluring to his natural curiousity, Jamal knew something was up. He had spent a long time in the jungle, trying to regain his composure after nearly tearing Gallen and/or Richard a new one, and just as he was about to go back in incognito, everyone started shuffling out so some new location. His wariness kept him from joining the group directly, but he had spent most of the time pacing alongside in the jungle, staying far enough away to not be seen but close enough to where he could see THEM with his extra sensitive vision. He wasn't exactly a quiet, stealthy sort at the moment, but the chaos with the rats neatly diverted attention.
He paused, craning over the shrubs to see if he could note anyone familiar, but suddenly was greeted with seeing a shaggy brown form leap forward from nowhere. Even he was taken aback; he hadn't smelt anyone nearby other than the group.

"I just went--" Nita began, just as Gaius got swarmed by the rats. She stood stalk-still, unable even to flee. On a more normal occasion, she wouldn't have minded rats. Nita had had pet rats. But these were wild. And probably rabid.
Something loomed towards the path, and all of Nita's old fears resurfaced. "Ohmygod, Annie," she whispered, heart pounding. Nita crossed herself shakily; the rats were the last of her worries.

"What the ******** was a very rare occassion when Oz had to swear, but in this case, he was more than justified. As much as this would have been a cool event, the real fear he could see on other people's faces told him something was very wrong. All he could make out was a flash of light and a gut-wrenching snarling sound.
They wouldn't set a rabid animal on the loose, would they? Surely not! What-what was happening!?

Pyroth was lost in the undergrowth for a few seconds as rats scattered and people stumbled around yelling bloody murder. His ears were pinned back against his head, his tail tucked between his legs in fear. He'd also somehow lost his roman helmet in the madness. He heard sounds from behind him and swerved around only to hear a sound that chilled both him and the coyote to the core, it all screamed one thing and one thing only.
"WOLF!"
He could only try to make out the movements in the strobe lighted madness, unaware who was being attacked or what.

Gaius somehow has enough wits about him to move aside and out of the way from the flashing claws and teeth.
It leaps straight through the gap in the middle of the group... and then begins to swing backwards.... on now visable pieces of fishing line. The life-size Angharad figured swings back and forth as its momentum slowly runs out, frozen in a perpetual snarling leap.

Sid was willing to chock up all the noise to his own imagination, until someone shouted wolf. He spun around, brandishing the cane, only to see the figure hanging there. His shoulders sagged, even if his heart was still pounding. All the excitement was killing his buzz. Worse, all the walking was making his leg hurt.
"s**t."

Kikue froze, her claws sinking deeper into the bark of the tree. They were meant for rocks, not the jungle. Then, she began to shake, watching it all play out below her like some mad stage -- and it was a horror movie they were in.
She caught sight of a whole group of Islanders below as they stumbled forward. And then -- someone quick, something snarling. Something big.
She heard the cry of "Wolf!!" recognizing the voice. Pyroth.
And then she saw Nita, in a gaggle of others, staring brokenly as the wolf-thing charged toward the center...and began to swing...
"Nita!" Kikue shouted, impulsively, her grip on the tree sliding as the moist bark threatened to give way.

Alec stares as the movements of the beast changed into an altogether unnatural sway. He stared, heart pounding in his ears, white as a ghost and a hair's short of wetting himself. His voice was caught up in his throat until he was sure everything was ok, everyone was ok....
"NOT FOOKIN FUNNEH!!!!!!" The teen suddenly yelled at maximum capacity, ending in a anticlimatic and pathetic whimper.

Marshall stood there, short of breath as the mechanical creature "died". His heart was pounding furiously. He was SURE that it was that woman Gaius had told him about, but he quietly thanked the lord that it was only an animatronic.
"G-Gaius..." Marshall said, trying to regain his composure. He didn't even look back at his hat, too scared to, "A-Are you...Are you okay?" he managed to squeak out.

Miller bent down scooping up a rock runing to catch up with F again holding it out to him as the screams up ahead grew worse. "Better then just our hands right?" he waved the bottle in his other. He looked up ahead shivering unaware that the whole thing was just a prank.

Richard gaped at the sight the lupine creature burst from the bushes. Instinctively bringing his cane up to protect himself. A brief flash of terror siezed him before he could clamp down on it. He froze for a moment as Gaius confronted the thing.
Still he had trained himself for things like this. Don't panic he told himself. I'm dead anyway. He ran up Gaius and the monster. Fangs beared.

Gaius stared wide-eyed as the wolf menaced and growled, swinging from its lines feet from him.
Then he slumped to the ground as his legs gave out beneath him. Every muscle shook, and he couldn't pull his fear-widened eyes from the would-be Angharad.
"I-I-I... I th-thought she- I- G-Gonna die..."

Bobby decided she was going to go back to the party, only to find... that it was completely dark and empty!!! Where had everyone.. gone? The pig sniffed, Pyroth had been here... and not too long ago. What f something was wrong!? She sniffed again, there was no blood. That was a good sign.
The pig went to the table, she'd need provisions! After eating her complete fill, Bobby was ready.
She took off at a run... or... as fast as she could. It was more lumbering as she threw her body weight around.
She smelled the leftovers of the spider webs, heard the music.... smelled the rats and... something else? By the time she caught up, the pig all but collapsed in exhaustion before she surveyed what was going on now.
The shouts.... Bobby held her head, just barely hearing the word 'WOLF' in her currently foggy mind as sweat dripped off her fur and through her costume.

Oz flinched and leaped a short distance back as the 'beast' swooped into the middle of the line and was revealed to be a puppet werewolf. Very realistic too. Obviously Oz was completely unaware of what had happened on the Island with its real wolf figure Annie. He heaved a huge sigh of relief and then started laughing.
"Well ******** me and call me Sally," he laughed, thoroughly relieved. "You guys really must like Halloween."
