Kamiss lay up in bed, and slid his legs to the right. He stood, legs shaky, then steadied himself. He went through the fireplace to the weapon cache and picked up an axe, a katana, and two cleavers. He strapped the first two to his back, and sheathed the cleavers on his thighs. Kamiss' own two swords were on his waist. He walked, silent as a cat, past the sleeping Chobah and looked at Raiynoc. The dragon was also asleep, and Kamiss smiled at him. He then spread his wings between the weapons and was off towards the village.

Behind closed eyelids, Chobah eyes whisked back and forth, her eyebrows lowering. She wasn't dreaming, she could see no images, was not conciously aware that anything was going on. But unbeknownst to her, her mind was reaching out above them, past the stars, to meet with that of a phoenix.

Kamiss landed in the village, drawing both his swords. He bumped into a wall, then stopped and turned to the right. He walked forward, then right again, and walked into a house, feeling the absent mind of a human. This woman had had her eyes cut out, too. Kamiss this time stretched his mind in a circle, and found to his surprise he could 'see'. He laughed sadly. The image he 'saw' did not please him. He sensed much more than minds now; he saw the bed the woman was sprawled on, the bookcase, the range and the door and windows. But he could not see the woman's face, the window panes, the door furnishings, the individual books. He exited, knowing that she was alive and and would recover. To heal her would make her awaken without her eyes faster, and that would put her through emotional turmoil. It would be better to return her eyes; along with everybody elses.

After about five minutes, Chobah's mind returned to her, and she stuttered awake.
"Ghuh-hawha?"
She cleared her head by shaking it, then stood and stretched. She knew Kamiss was gone. She could feel emptiness, and knew it meant he had gone after Trarr. Or at least to assess the damage he had done. But at this point something else was pressing on her mind. Something about a phoenix feather that she had to find. It would lead her somewhere, she was certain without knowing why.

Kamiss calmly walked onto the water, ripples spreading onto his feet. The sun was setting and Kamiss could tell it was casting a light onto the lake from the dappled surface of the water. He only wished he could see the effects. "Trarr." Kamiss called. He turned his head side to side, sending his 'vison' in that paricular direction. Trarr wasn't in any of the dead trees surrounding the lake. "TRA-" Kamiss jumped off the surface of the lake, flipping backwards and landing with no splash. He leaped forward, swords in his hands, slashing madly. He 'saw' Trarr's arm reach up, and put his swords in an 'X' to block the downwards slash that was sent his way. He threw off Trarr's wicked blade, and jumped up, bringing both swords down on an arc. Trarr moved quick, and Kamiss spun to face him. "How do you think you can beat me?" Trarr mocked. "You are blind, just like before. You will forget the faces of your loved ones, like before. You will want to die, like before." Trarr spread his arms. "I can grant you that wish." Trarr mocked.
Kamiss yelled and charged at him. Trarr was suddenly behind him, blade to his neck. "I am a god now." Trarr whispered in his ear. "She will die next." Kamiss roared again, and was gone. He appeared a second later on a treetop in a blaze of blue light. "You are no god." He said, standing on the farthest reaching branch towards Trarr. "I will show you."

She was walking, passing through the moonlight like a sad ghost of times long forgotten. She could not remember starting to walk, only the image of a burning-bright feather, of such shimmering beauty she could almost feel it's heat. And she knew it was close. Her eyes took on a change, and the woods grew from dark and shadow into light and grey. No more color, but brightness, and through it she could see a spark of orange and red and yellow.
Not far, now.

Kamiss thrust his palm forward, and a black flame spung forth in the form of a sphere. Trarr laughed, and reached his own hand forward. A dark fireball the like of which even Kamiss could not conjure connected with Kamiss' sphere, absorbing it and sending the whole thing Kamiss' way. "You were saying?" Trarr taunted. Kamiss backflipped, branches below him springing up in flames. Kamiss then snapped then with his mind, and they hovered close to him in two bundles, like second arms. He then drew his dual swords again, and grinned. "Kriyako." He dashed at Trarr, swords and flaming branches moving rythmically in patterns, swords in his hands and branches levitated. "Years ago, when I returned to the Chosen, I developed my own signature technique." He was quickly boxing Trarr into a helpless position. "I christened it Kriyako. It is a remembrance of the pain I felt when I thought Raiynoc died. Kriyako-FOUR SWORD STYLE!" As Kamiss said these words, his swords broke through Trarr's defenses. However, they were already snapping up, and Kamiss didn't have time to deal a critical blow. Instead, he lashed Trarr on the back and arm with the flaming branches. Trarr cried out for a split second, switching his sword to his other arm, and continued fighting. Kamiss only smiled coldly.

It was there, suddenly, lying on the path in front of her, burning bright in the heacy darkness. All around it she could feel a sort of bubble. Pushing through it, barely feeling the tension. Suddenly she was surrounded by a light singing, more beautiful than the sweetest birdsong, more spiritual than the most angelic choir. She could almost feel it lifting her up off of her feet. She grasped the feather in her hands, gasping at the flood of knowledge that slipped itself into her mind.
So...

Kamiss and Trarr felt a surge of power, but neither stopped fighting. Each attack was blocked, each parry parried. They seemed to dance on the water, two men, glinting steel and ghostly branches. Kamiss then dropped onto his palm, twisting into a circle, his sword sent flying. He dove under the sruface of the water, coming up behind Trarr and throwing a kick at his head, sword already turning from its flight to return to its owner. However, Trarr twisted around, swinging his sword. It caught Kamiss' arm and blood gushed forth. The limb was almost severed. Kamiss dropped to his knees, looking stunned at the billowing cloud turning the water red. It's not healing. Trarr laughed in triumph, slicing the limb off completely. It fell beneath the waves; no longer attached to Kamiss' body the magic left it. Kamiss opened his mmouth in a silent howl, the blood still coming. He concentrated and the flow stopped greatly. Trarr raised his sword and brought it down in a vicious arc. A tear flew down Kamiss' cheek from under the bandages. Kamiss threw his other arm in the swords path.

Chobah was watching them. Through the magic of the Phoenix feather, her eyes were hovering over the water, far above the dueling enemies. She could see everything so clearly; the crimson blood, the dark water. The single tear, the one that could heal. As the mystic bird had whispered...
"The tear from the unseeing hero will heal the broken soul."
But who needed it? She didn't know. But for now, it seemed not to matter. She was only an observer.

Trarr stared in horror at the arm that lay, unmaimed, under his blade. Kamiss threw his head back, and started laughing, a maniacal laugh, one of a crazed person. "You thought..." His shirt started ripped under the blade. "You thought you could defeat me?" Kamiss had used his gift and curse-as the shirt ripped more, the dragon scales underneath were shown. He could call them when needed, but would always remind him of Raiynoc's death at his hands. The toll on his mind-the loss of his arm, needing to use the power he recieved from killing Raiynoc those years ago-made his crazy. The scales rippled up and down his arm, covering his entire arm and making his hand clawed. He threw his arm out, sending Trarr flying. His stump started glowing black, and a thin black line, flowing like a stream, stretched form his maimed area. It widened, thickened, and started taking the shape of an arm, and then a hand at it's end. It was larger than the original, but when the black peeled away to reveal pink flesh, the skin and arm returned to their normal size. Kamiss then flew forward, running across the water, scales spreading from arm to newly regenerated arm, down his chest, legs and feet, up his neck and onto his face. His features lengthed grotesquely, ears becoming pointed and sharp. His teeth became fangs in his canine-like snout, and he roared. A spiked tail sprouted from his spine, wings appearing from his shoulder blades. He laid into Trarr, forgetting his swords, clawing, slashing, like he had done to Raiynoc for survival. He roared, and dark red flames engulfed Trarr's body. (This is a hint at Kamiss' past. I think this is a fitting 100th post in the Inn)

The Sky-Eyes blinked rapidly, shimmering, then faded from the blank stretch of night. The images before them were too strong to keep the magic flowing. Chobah fell back into herself, holding a blackened pile of ashes. She wandered slowly back to the Inn, curled into a ball on one of the couches, and stared at the wall.

Silas suddenly woke, not able to see, and glanced around at his surroundings in a frenzied panic. He was in a small room with a decent bed and a shelf with his clothes laid neat and clean on their wooden storage. And the floor was gleaming, reflecting the image of his face. But there was a problem, he could not see this. neither darkness nor his slowly adjusting eyes prevented him, it was far worse. he was blind.

She could hear movement above her, in one of the smaller rooms. She sat up, head heavy, knowing if Silas needed her he would call. She walked over to the window, and looked up into the night sky. Not a star could be seen - clouds obscured all.
What a night...and what is happening with Kamiss and Trarr? Nothing I can do, certainly, but...

Trarr emerged from the flames. "You cannot kill me. My magic has made me immortal. I already told you-I AM A GOD." Kamiss charged him once, more, but his sanity had returned and his swords came into his hands. Trarr was on him at once; everywhere and nowhere. Kamiss never even had a chance to attack, as the relentless assault came from all directions. He and his swords spun in a circle, blocking all attacks thrown at him. Kamiss only grinned, as this was giving him plenty of time to prepare. Trarr was suddenly behind him, but Kamiss didn't move. The sharp blade entered Kamiss' back and protruded through his chest, moving further until the hilt was embedded in Kamiss' back. Kamiss' psy levels fianlly peaked as he had hoped, and Trarr flew backwards into a tree as Kamiss' psyonics blew him backwards in a huge blaze of life. Untouched, however, was Trarr's sword. Kamiss removed it, grunting, strands of shadow sealing the wound in his chest. He turned, branches long forgotten from the assault. Both swords were sheathed, and Trarr's eyes widened as he realized he couldn't move-Kamiss' mind was trapping him, and he couldn't do anything about it. Mind magic was seperate from any other type of magic. Kamiss dashed forward, raising Trarr's sword, and Trarr knew he would die. Kamiss slashed out, and Trarr lost his own eyes. Power gone, he crumpled bleeding to the forest floor. Kamiss raised the blade above him with two hands.
