I don't agree with the soliders either, as it's their choice to join in the first place, which more often than not means that they agree with the leaders. Anywho, change of subject! Where's KB been?

O-o There isnt anything wrong with our soliders, it's just the preisdent they are forced to follow~ You can join the Military and still dislike who you have to follow, you Join the Military because you want to support your country, not because you love the leaders you have to follow >.>; Atleast that is Teh Yotsy's opinion~~ Yesh 3nodding

Anywho, change of subject! Where's KB been? What's wrong with being British? xp England is by far my favorite of the countries I've been to. And Yotsy, your logic is flawed. "I'm going to end people's lives because it will make a difference, and because if I don't join, nobody else will! I may not agree with the person I'm following, but I'll follow orders blindly because I'm a puppet!" No offense to Heswina of course. This isn't directed at anyone in the guild. It's just my general view of the military. Why would you join a force whose leader you know you will have to follow despite your disagreeing with him/her? "I hate (insert name here) with a fiery passion, but I willingly joined, knowing I would have to take orders from him/her" Honestly doesn't seem like a very smart career choice to me.

Krono, you know that Bush was elected into the presidency over his opponent right, and probably wont be elected again, right? So that means that when he was elected he was liked, and the only people who didn't like him were those who voted against him. Now, however, he's a royal ******** up and no one's voting for him and only those who actually need to join the service because they can't survive for what ever reason in the civilian world join the military.
Then you have people like me, Krono, who obviously don't give a s**t about anyone but themselves (conceded I know but what ever). I don't like that I'm pretty much being payed to hurt or even kill people, because that's all they're training me to do is either help other people kill or do the killing myself. For all my hateful additute in the past I've realized that in the presence violence is a horrible thing that only spawns more pain after it's been done, and not just for the person hurt. I don't like it, but given the alternatives I don't have much of a choice. Besidse, I figure if I have to channel out all my rage it might as well be put in a useful direction. At the people who threaten my country where my friends live, where my life is, where the love of my life's family is. You see? I don't give a flying rat's a** about this country, I'm only protecting mine and mine alone...besides, you're Canadian arn't you? No offense to Krono of course. This isn't directed at anyone in the guild (directly), it's just my general view of people who b***h about my country. Why do you really give a damn? We're not invading you, and you're pretty much safe because of us. Honestly now, if Canada didn't have the United States just to the south of them they probably would have been taken over by someone or another.

I actually had a statement about my being from Canada, which isn't much of a better country, but I took it out because it didn't have much to do with my argument. Canada sits on the sidelines and does d**k all. Put simply however, I give a damn because I don't like the idea of war or people getting hurt/killed for their beliefs. The USA is rather hypocritical. They claim to be in this war to abolish terrorism.
Terrorism is defined by official US documents as the calculated use of violence or threat of violence to attain goals that are political, religious, or idealogical in state.
So why can't I care about what my neighbouring country does? I think I have a right to as a citizen of this world. We shouldn't be defined by nations in the first place. It's just another form of discrimination. However, this is straying from my point once again. As for you not invading us, I'm still waiting for that to happen. It's just a matter of time due to our oil and water supplies. It likely won't happen in my lifetime, but I expect it to happen one day.
Also, Bush cannot be re-elected. This is his final term. Now if you don't mind, can we drop the subject? I tend to get much too worked up when I get involved in this type of debate. Thank you for simply acknowledging my ideals, even if you don't agree with them. That's more than most do. If you really want to, we can continue this in an IM however.

I was actually going to suggest the same thing, stoping the topic at any rate. I can't do IM's for a number of reasons the only one you need to know is that the computers here won't let me.
By all means, Krono, you are entilted to your political and personal views, as am I. Despite what it seems I'm not trying to like 'turn' you over to my side of the view, I'm just making conversation for the sake of conversation's sake. smile
...I really should finish the Alda thread...and update my character profile to match. Grrr.

Oh well for that...All I gotta say is i think this war is bogus. And I may not respect the opinions for going to Iraq but I respect everyone's right to believe in their opinions. All I know is that one of my b/f's best friends is getting shipped in Jan. and I hope to the gods that we can end this war before then because It's just not fair to the families here at home who have to deal with worrying/ wounded/ MIA/ dead soldiers.
Death is a terrible thing to have to deal with. I just want everyone to come home safe. I think you'd at least all agree on that.

We've finished out discussion about the military. As for the RP, well Alda is finished now, but I don't know about any position of authority, not at the age of 18 unless you were like royalty. blaugh But the Royalty of Alda consists of the five families that rule the Isles, five nobles and the 'Royal' Family, and the nobles of the Tripplets/Guardians are going to be NPCs.
