Alpha then stepped though the portal, and the wound in the world closed behind him. It would open right up again moments later on the surface, at Sorrow's Keep.

-----

Victor was never alone anymore. From the moment he grasped the sword the eye of The Forgotten was on him. Plans needed to be made, movement needed to happen... Energy needed to be consumed.

Perhaps it is time to make your presence known.

The voice would echo through Victors mind.

There are those that will be preparing for your arrival, and there are those that are preparing for my return.
It would be a fools move to let them gain too much strength.

And you gain power with ever move made.
The best show of force is a tactical one.

There is work to be done. Good work. If they refuse to use their wills, we will take that will and use it for them.

Victor Fah.

The only other survivor of the House of Fah, from the long dead continent of Nybelmar and the broken remnants of the Allen Fah Empire.

Unlike his twin brother, who made due to carve his niche in the world through blood and violence, Victor preferred the more 'gentlemanly' route.

This was to say that while Vahn was known as the devil, Victor would become a silver-tounged devil.

Victor was well versed in diplomacy, bluffing and speech in all its aspects. His charisma was a weapon in of itself and it was what had gotten him this far.

And right now, it was probaly the only thing keeping that voice in his head from learning all of Victor's true intentions and completely taking control of him or driving him insanely mad.

Yet it was still a struggle.

"Every revolution needs movement. And to have movement there must be those that we can move."

He spoke softly, yet to no one in particular. To any watching, it was as if he were talking to the very air itself.

"The best way to deal with both problems is to make them wary of one another and force them to be each other's problems."

He smiled softly, his hand gripping firmly the handle of the ebony blade.

It was a similar tactic he had used in order to gain acess to Babel. Making the Lizard Clan and the Stratans fight each other, proving enough of a distraction to allow Victor to accomplish his goal.

"And what better way...than to play the pieces against one another..."

He turned his single visible eye to the swirling recess of a pool of water, the image of Owle coming to view, along with that of Vahn.

The woman...
Has atempted to interfer with plans in the past.

She can be found, as her mind has been touched
How she is still well
is
very
strange

Not imposible if she is of a powerful mind.
Perhaps

then she would recognize agents of The Cult.
Prudence.

Says she would be blind to your agents...
Unlike the
other.

Though the centuries The Forgoten has consumed millions of lives, taking their memories and power into its whole. Considering his exploits through the ages the chances were high that at least one of those victims had known of the man in the pool. The problem wasn't finding one, it was finding one that didn't conflict with another. The Forgotten had to rely on the fact Victor had such a strong conection with his brother, a destiny bond, to discover the true name of the man in the pool.

Kas...
Vahn

...uske... Ky...
Fah

You know where he is
I have an agent

Apt for dealing with him...
and his allies.
A subjugator of the elements

A softer touch than

Alpha

Not obviously

One like Alpha either
not as proud

Though the plan is yours

Victor stood on the threshold of a terrace, overlooking much of Eden. He had his head lowered, as if his entire being was focused in concentration of some sort.

"Yes... finding my brother... has never been the difficult part."

His hand raised to his own neck, clasping about what appeared to be a simple necklace and consisted of a golden chain and a tear shaped ruby. The chain was made of intricate golden links and fitted loosely around Victor's neck. The ruby was hung from the chain and measured 5 inches in width. Golden lines could be seen swirling within the ruby as the artificial sky of Eden reflected light.

It was known as the Tear of Blood, one of the artifacts that Victor claimed within the depths of Sorrow's Keep, before it became re-inhabited.

The artifact was able to track living creatures, after having come into contact with their blood. It can sense the blood as it flows in their bodies and bestows this awareness upon its owner. The wearer of the necklace can sense where its quarry has been, as long as the Tear of Blood has been dipped in the creature's blood prior to its use. The owner simply knows that his quarry has visited the place where he now stands, however, this awareness has nothing to do with any of the five senses.

"Curiouser... to find him in such a place..."

The small pool now reflected what seemed to be a hospital ward of some sorts...

"Leave the woman to me... if she is as knowledgeable of you as you say, then it is better that I approach her. I'll leave my brother to your doings."

Tellus reclined against the lavish bedpillows, curling one crimson one against her chest. She knew Ra'kar would keep her promise, but she had no idea whether 'tonight' was a few moments away or a few hours. For that matter, the formerly blue haired Leviathan child wasn't even sure how much time had passed since she'd come to this little corner of the void. It could have been days or even longer.

On the trail of that thought, came another that caused her a bit of panic. Her children. James could and would take care of himself and Gabi, and they were lucky enough to have expense accounts, but something about Gabi was making her worry, and it was connected to her own inherent connections. What was going on; out in the real world?

Her fingers slid along the fine Durem sheets, caressing it as one might a lover, the texture of them playing on her senses. The sheets clenched as she tightened her fist around a loose piece. "Damn, Damn and Double Damn..." Tears threatened to fall as she sat there frustrated and angry. Even the flickers of flame from the fireplace didn't warm her, it seemed too cold, too impersonal.

Things had gotten a bit more lively in these parts, and considerably so.

The long abandoned island was not that abandoned ever since Victor stepped foot on it, bringing along his personal vanguard and pouring all his hopes and dreams into making it move for him.

The appearance of that blade, had not gone unnoticed from the Nephilim, as there were those who were always scheming and waiting for the chance when they might be able to move freely about without being nothing more than servant to a mere human.

However, the significance of such an event was that more greater, if not intimate for Ezekiel.

The figure had been seen striding the pathways of the actual garden itself, taking the time to mend himself in thoughts...

The arrival of three other outsiders had not gone unnoticed either... let alone the chilling new presence that ebbed through the island.

"....."

Needless to say, precautions had been taken to ensure that no one could so easily... make an unannounced appearance, to say the least.

Ezekiel had kept quiet when Victor had given that Tribal fruit from the Tree. He had even kept quiet when Alpha had started commanding Shades to start reworking Eden over...

It was in his nature to silently watch... acting only when told. And when he did act... it was frightening to watch that kind of emotionless servitude in action.

Curiously... he found himself missing the conversations he had had with the Siren in Babel... but brushed them off for the time being.

"So, this is where 'ya went."

The gruff voice caused Ezekiel to pause in his steps, even as he turned his head to the side.

A hulking figure became outlined in the shadow, even as he stepped forward, one giant paw of a hand scratching at the underside of what could pass for a chin.

"What is it, Samuel."

"The Shedu have been getting hungry again... damn things never stop eatin'."

"I am not their keeper."

"I know, I know... just been tryin' to feed 'em some of those darklings, but they apparently don't like the taste!" Samuel let out a bellow of a croaked laugh... his entire lower jaw seemed to be reworked, as a result of the parting gift Sunstrike had given him.

His whole left arm was reshaped as well, being it that Vahn had completely lopped off the original.

"The wind is different..."

"I didn't realize there was wind in the void."

"......"

The Isle itself had slipped back into the reaches of the Ethereal Void, seemingly without anyone realizing it and perhaps even without Victor having initiated it.

However none of the Nephilim had the courage to go ask about it--- they were bound in service to the man, so what he did mattered little to them unless it directly involved them.

Victor was still on the terrace, the ebony blade being spun in one hand as he moved about with the sword. He made several slashing motions, and long sweeps, turning with his heels and bending the knees ever so slightly to keep the rhythmic bounce.

He kept this up until the sword became an extension of himself, confident in its weight, ability, and reach.

There was an unmistakably darker aura about him now, ever since claiming the sword... as if some sinister presence were always about him, unseen by normal eyes.

The old man sat quietly, a book in his hand, surrounded by the tomes within the Great Library.

His head sunk low, devouring the information within the ancient text, trying desperately to find out why...why...

Before he blinked.

"...My god..." He whispered, dropping the book, the tome flapping dustily to hit the floor with a short clap. "...He...I'm...no..."

The side of his face rotted - before he simply vanished.

This world, even in the Void, had no place for a man who died years and years ago. Time had caught up with Ancient Tomorrow, yanking him from this dimension and tossing him into the ether.

He was gone.

Whatever happened after that, doesnt matter.

The events that had transpired within Sorrow's Keep had not gone unnoticed by Victor. The shaded eye had returned before the two emissaries were due to arrive, through a word of recall--- thus giving Victor the appearance of two full eyes again.

He had his left hand extended out, the shaded eye dissolving into nothingness, ember by ember of shadow as he pressed it against the left side of his face. Running the hand long the side and brushing past locks of ebony, he breathed outwardly.

Apparently it took a great deal of concentration to have kept the eye stable.

"Barton... not exactly an ideal start, but no use in trying to change whats been done."

He mused on sending any support or not and decided against it. The city was more or less already fallen, and if his new allies couldn't keep it then perhaps he had misjudged them.

He had since left the tranquility of the terrace, moving back inside and running a hand through his hair.

If anything, no matter what kind of archaic or legendary place he wound up in, he was always glad to find out it had basic plumping. He was somewhat craving a shower at the moment, thinking it would at least rend that feeling of weight from his body that had taken to him as of late.

His footsteps echoed out along the halls, yellowed eyes taking in the sights along the way.

The place he had decided to fortify himself in was one of the few remaining ruins of the civilization that had claimed the land known as Eden. This of course meant that it was hardly in top condition. Every now and then, the starry blackness of the Void would stab in from gouges in the ceiling, or missing sections of wall, illuminating the path before Victor to a degree.

Being in the void always calmed him... a soothing feeling that betrayed a sense of 'home'.

As it was, Victor's footfalls slowed down as the shrouded figure of Ezekiel appeared before him. "What brings you to the Atrium?"

He stopped, staring forward even as Ezekiel pushed off the wall he had been leaning on and stood before Victor, both hands in his pockets.

The right side of his face was covered in a bone white mask, unlike the other Nephilim who wore the full visage upon their faces when on assignment.

".....I felt you needed me."

"I'm not going to bother sending any of you to Barton if that's what you were intending on asking." Victor stared the younger Murmillion down.

"....The others are restless. They have spent too long in this nothingness we call a prison."

The Nephilim weren't as enthusiastic as Victor about staying in the Void so much, seeing as how it had been their prison for so long--- until Victor found them, one by one and binded them to mortal flesh.

"Are you questioning my decision?" Victor smiled now.

"....No. I cannot of course. You are my lord, and I must serve you as you see fit."

"How are our guests faring?"

"The one known as Tellus has remained in her quarters... and the Tribal hasn't come out of the Library at all for the past few days."

"Leviathan's daughter... the power of each avatar is necessary to rend open the lock that keeps Destruction hidden. I had planned on using the Thunderer to tame the Leviathan itself... and luring my brother is a simple matter.

It is the other avatars I am interested in... they must be found."

Victor's plans were clearly layered and deeply planned-- as it was no simple feat to just charge a lazer and fire into the planet or something. The machine found on Eden needed power--- power that would be supplied by the souls of the million lives necessary. But that collected energy would be for naught if all it did was strike against an aegis that could not be bypassed without first unlocking it--- some doors simply could not be forced at all.

Hence, the needed power of the elements--- or more specifically, the power of the terrestrial avatars. Each element on Gaia served as a separate lock for what apparently kept Destruction hidden beneath the surface of Gaia itself-- on a meta-physical level, not physical, since there was nothing but rock, crust, magma and the such in Gaia's core.

Basically--- Destruction had been sealed within a separate plane of existence entirely, beneath the surface of the planet-- as if doubly layered. And to first gain access to this contradictory level of existence, one must first rend away the elemental locks placed on the travel to said place.

Victor at first had been perplexed at the complexity of the seal, wondering why something so dangerous would simply be left locked away and still allowed to do harm. Henry had simply told him that it was to prevent anyone from ending Destruction and trying to prevent what it was meant to do--- which was apparently a Lavos-esque destruction and consumption of Gaia itself.

Striking at the core of Destruction with the power collected through the souls of Gaia's children, would mortally wound it-- and with it, take all of its negative influences on Gaia, doing away with the anarchy and chaos that stemmed from the purported source of all evil.

A dream of peace that Victor had envisioned when he broke away from the Fah Empire, and committed patricide for.

Or perhaps simply a means of redemption for the failure he suffered so many decades ago...

It was hard to tell, and only Victor would know.

And perhaps Henry himself.

Maybe it was the thought of his name that finally made Victor see the man, sat in one of the larger cracks of the wall, arms folded carfully as he inspected the void outside.

Henry always was hard to spot in a crowd. But there was a trace scent of licorice and spice that surrounded him much like clothing on an ordinary person.

The robes he wore shifted much like the outside sky, showing him to be far more abstract then mortality could pin on a person, but for Victor and the others benifet he always pulled most of himself together when his presence was felt.

As it was, he'd been silently keeping vigil on the events that were unfolding, leaving the larger players to do their own parts. Any forward questions were givin answers that left Victor thinking for himself about the direction he needed to go in.

A smile quirked his lips at the sword Victor held, as well as the quiet servent he spoke with.

"Greetings, Lord Fah...have you need of me?"
Inky, blue eyes blinked in casual amusement.

"I had begun wondering where you had gotten to."

He didn't turn around fully, even as Ezekiel lowered his head and simply retreated into the background.

"I wonder if your absence had anything to do with a most curious recent acquisition of mine."

He was regarding the sword of course, even as he finally faced the enigmatic man fully. Yellowed eyes took him, trying their best to place a form and solid shape on Henry. He always felt if he blinked the man would simply fade away.

He took a few steps forward now.

"You know I never interfere in your aquisitions. Had I more conscience, I might have been pressed to save the elf maiden, if that were the case." Still the amusement as he watched Victor step closer.

"No Victor, I simply gave you the road, how you pave it is up to you. And I must say, the going is smoother then I expected." It was a compliment of sorts.

"Where I've been," He started, then barked a laugh. "I had to rediscuss some terms with a certain, lady friend."

"The locations of the avatars. I need them."

He cut straight to the point of course. He hated resorting to basically asking for assistance-- some of that hereditary pride showing through.

He had spent the last few weeks unsuccessfully trying to determine the location of the other somewhat aloof avatars.

Only Vahn and Leviathan were the ones who kept somewhat high profiles after all.

"Too proud to dig a little deeper into the muck, eh?" Henry closed his eyes and leaned back. The next was said without a hint of sarcasm, as if it were nothing but a statement.

"You've found out the easiest, now you want someone else to do your work for you, how very noble."

He sighed softly, looking away. Henry was quiet for a long period of time, almost so much that he might be accused of ignoring the other man. Finally he frowned and looked sideways at Victor.

"You'll have to make them...the humans or meta's that contain traces of the avatars are far too..." He searched for the right word.

"Diluted. You could probably find people it can be brought about in, but as far as actually sleeping gods..." He held his hands up.

"I'll make a list of likely candidates, and we'll go on from there.
