Coming closer into speaking distance of Kivuli, Ciyari opens her petite little mouth to say something - a cordial greeting, perhaps - but her attention is immediately stolen away by another creature in the vicinity. Her neck twists about, to spot something medium-sized and spotted - no, splotched - coming towards the twain. She stands a dignified, regal ground, ears lingering forwards atop her head in a friendly, if slightly aggressive manner. An appreciative eye rolls over the juvenile's form. Another not-adult...good. Ciyari has no love for the adults of her kind. But perhaps these two are part of a pride...? She sniffs, uncertainly, but speaks to keep the upper-hand.
"G'day," She offers, and for all you knew, you'd think she was an Empress granting a great favor, instead of a scruffy little orphan. Gaze shifts dubiously back to Kivuli. "I'm Ciyari, Queen of the Riverstar Pride. What names d'you two go by?" And then, politely, "...is this your lands?"

Kivuli's upper lip twitches slightly as the grey cub introduces herself. She bows her head playfully. "I am called Kivuli. This is not my land, and I'm not exactly sure whose land it is... I only stopped here to get a drink while I was traveling." She tilts her head and studies Ciyari carefully. "Riverstar Pride? I'm afraid I'm not familiar."

Eyes continued to be directed towards the pair of cubs, never truely leaving their figures. Thankfully, he hadn't been ignored, and the calls from the duo reach his ears, which instinctivly perk to better hear what they have to say. At the greetings of the lioness', a quiet smile spread across the males muzzle, and his gait was increased. Already he could sence the differences between the two.. one seemed be a little more shy, though the other was.. outgoing? A mild shake of his head was shown before he answered, thinking about Ciyari's questioning for a brief moment. "Uhm.. Hidalgo's the name and.. no? I've been a rogue since.. well.. forever," He stated bluntly, a brow quirking while he reached the cubs and slowly came to a halt. Wait.. QUEEN? A blank glance was shot towards Ciyari, the one who had spoken the most at this point. "..Beg your pardon.. but.. queen..? Aren't you.. uhm.. a little young for a queen.." He said slowly, eyeing the female curiously.

Ciyari eyes Kivuli warily. "It's north of here, alright. It was overthrown by evil pridals several moons back, and my Pa and I - he's a murderer for hire, really - were forced out of the lands. He's off bein' a mercenary so we can get enough to eat, so now I'm staying in Knight Maji's lands for awhile, whose family is all gone. My squire, Hodari, is also there." She adds, helpfully, all wide-eyed innocence.
She shoots a somewhat unloving look at the new juvenile male, pulling herself up as if affronted. "Of course I'm not. There's no age limit to it. When my Ma and family and everyone was killed, that made me the new Queen, Pa said." She pauses, tipping her head. "I suppose I shall one day go back and wreck vengence upon the evils my pride has suffered, but for now I'm an outlaw," She adds, cheerfully, slanting a sly look at the duo.

Hidalgo listened carefully to Ciyari's words, wondering why in the world a cub of all things would be a rule of some land or another.. "M'hm.. sure.." the male stated, only a tad non-believing of this whole story, however what other choice did he have but to go along with it, true or not? His beady black eyes were rolled at this thought, however he was in no position to start an arguement, seeing as this was the only company he'd come across for quite some time. At least the loneliness of not speaking with many hadn't made him shy and.. unsocial, to say the least, however his manners might've been a little off, seeing as he tended to blurt whatever came to his mind at this point. "Yup.. sooo.. d'you always listen to daddy, then? I mean seriously.. not that I'm against it, mind you.. but how's a cub supposed to make adult decisions..?" He questioned suddenly, and rudely.. clearly uncalled for. With that, he rolled lazily back onto his hindquarters, waiting hesitantly for the words to come in reply from that statement.

Kivuli listens with great interest. Assassins? Mercenaries? Outlaws? "It sounds like you've had a very exciting life, and you're still so young." She sits down and stares at the ground. "I'm a rogue. I've been a rogue for most of my life... A pride took me in when I was fairly young, but I got separated from them and I've been living on my own for a while now."

She eyes Hidalgo with scorn, lifting a decisive brow. "That'd kinda a bit rich, comin' from you...if you're a rogue, you learn to make adult decisions, or you ain't gonna survive," She says, brutally. "You ain't an adult either, an' yet you're sitting out here without a home to go to, or anyone t'look after you. You ain't got an adult to look after you. I c'n look after myself just as well as you can. Probably better," She adds, huffily, giving him a pitying look. "An' of course I do what my Da' says - I'm not stupid. He's a mercenary, an' that's just not somethin' you mess with, if you've got half a brain."
She glances over towards Kivuli, however, immediately feeling kinship with the other. A slight nod. "Oh, yeah, it ain't never a dull moment," She mutters, then shrugs. "Well, the rogue life's the better one, anyways," She informs the other gray feline.

Kivuli nods slowly to Ciyari. "I suppose so... It's harder, but it is much better. You don't have to share food, you can go wherever you want whenever you want, you don't need to listen to anyone but yourself. I've learned a lot out here, lessons I never would have learned in a pride. I'm better off this way."
She glances at Hidalgo and her eyes soften slightly. He was most certainly unpolished, but there was something about him that almost made her sad.

-Quietly as he could, Hodari crawled on the ground, his tail flicking back and forth in the air...- - It seemed as if days had passed since he had last eaten something. His stomach was growling violently, never pausing for a moment. Each movement the young lion took caused his stomach to begin it's snarling once more...-Growling a little to himself, he sat up... Eyes wandering left and right in search of something to eat...-
-The ears atop his head began to flick. Finally, they stopped and fell back against his scalp... The young one dropped to his stomach, letting out a wail.- "Why does it have to be me?! Can't something just walk up to me an die?"-He placed his paws up onto his head, grumbling to himself...-

"Pssssh.. No one needs a home to go to or someone to look after them," Hidalgo grunted, eyes narrowing towards Ciyari, however left the comment to himself about her second statement, assuming that she'd only find another snippy comment to add to it. "Ah well.. no use argueing over it," He muttered to himself, making his words difficult to understand while his eyes quickly shifting to the ground. Ciyari had made her point, and no further comments he would probably make could better the conversation on that certain subject. So, he pressed on, deciding to more or less agree with the feline, instead of upset her. Instead he looked to Kivuli, watching her figure for a moment before dropping down further into a laying position. Now their height, or a little shorter, his gaze swapped between the two, glancing back and forth as he remained silenced for the time being. It seemed they'd be in this particular spot, so he furthered along making himself comfortable and allowing himself to roll off to the side, making his appearance even shorter than before as a sigh was emitted, finally again speaking, cutting into the conversation again. "M'hm.. I agree with y'both on that one.. Rogue is the way to go.. harder.. but oh so much easier.." He stated the pitch in his tone unchanging as he went along speaking. Other than that, he really didn't say much, only watch, making it clear that his pride had been.. dampened.. by the conversation that he and Ciyari had had, taking it personal that he'd not commented back and won the battle of words against the feline.

Ciyari is looking daggers at Hidalgo, and it looks clearly that if he says another thing on the subject, she's going to go at him - physically or verbally, it's uncertain which. But the scruffy little brat must have the last word, and so she sniffs. "I think so, too - which is why there wasn't any reason to insult me like that. 'twas just plain rude." But despite getting huffy and leaving, she merely settles back onto her haunches, paws kept close together.
She nods, however, at his words. "Mm." It's unsure what she would have said then, for the wail breaks out over the savannah. She knows that wail. Her head darts up, expression alert and surprised. A pause. "Hodari?" She calls out loudly over the hills. Is her squire here?

-One small paw slid off of his head as he lifted it to gaze out at the landscape.. That voice.. It sounded vaguely familliar... Was that..?- "Ciyari?" -He hollared, scrambling to his feet..-Before he knew it, he had started sprinting, searching for her..- "Ciyari, is that you?"-He called out, skidding to a stop for a moment..-

Hidalgo had made himself comfortable for the moment, assuming the subject wouldn't be further continued. Though his assumptions were instantly proved wrong as the feline added the last words to the conversation. Him.. insult her Eyes were narrowed, a foul dislike for this creature instantly coming into his mind while his jaws were slowly clentched together with anger. She just HAD to go and fit in the last word, didn't she.. A frown was plastered to his muzzle at this point as he began to speak, somehow finding the will to unclentch his jaws from their position, though he'd love for them to stay that way. "Why you little.. " He muttered nastily, not even giving her the chance to say anything in return before continueing onward," Me.. insult you? Gee.. who wouldn't??! You prance around like your the queen of the world.. c'mon, seriously! And for your information, you insulted me, so I'm not the only one doing something wrong here and being rude," He snapped, taking a paw and offgaurdingly swiping it at Ciyari's head, which happened to be just within his reach. Luckily for her, he narrowly missed. Hidalgo was fully alert now, all attention diverted to the female with a cold stare.

"I'm over - " But before Ciyari can do more than call out, Hidalgo breaks into her words, and she glances back towards him. The frigidly cold stare doesn't deter the child, however...perhaps she's met too many like it already. Anger suddenly sprouts all over the child's features, ears darting back against her skull, muzzle opening to hiss as she fluidly gets to all fours, expression furious as only a little girl's can be.
"You're a miserable dung beetle!" The girl snarls, viciously, stepping back out of his immediate range. "And you have the brains of one, too!" You have to hand it to her; lier and scruffy little vagabond she may be, but she's got a pair of lungs on her. She continues, shrilly, whole form puffed up angrily. "You're just a scruffy, rude, arrogant little rogue who's jealous, 'cause you ain't got any family left to go home to!"
