Mina sat up and looked at Taiko worriedly. "Hey...." She reached out slowly and ran her fingers lightly down Taiko's arm. "Hey, Taiko..." Mina winced as her muscles in her neck twinged. She ran her finger under Taiko's chin and turned her head towards her. "Taiko.." She looked at her seriously.

Mina smiled slightly and shook her head. She let go of Taiko and pulled herself to her feet. "It's alright." She smiled at her and held out her hand to help her up. "You alright?" She looked at her worriedly again, blood still dripping down her shoulder and neck.

Mina smiled and shook her head. "Don't worry about it." She kneeled next to Taiko and brushed her hair out of her face. "What's the big deal?" Mina grabbed the towel from the bench and started dabbing at her neck.

((sorry for leaving so quickly and without warning - my mom made me get offline pretty suddenly. And then I won't even be online for most of today, 'cause I'll be at a family reunion...*sighs*...well at least, I'll be on late tonight.))

Adrian had been looking at the guard the whole time, and then upon realizing that he was staring - once more - he had reversed his gaze back to the ground with a blush. He had honestly caught most of what the man had said - it was just difficult to tell, since he hardly ever looked as if he was paying attention.

"I'm alright..."

"...You're Unon, right? I'm really glad that...there are people like you working in places like this..." he looked up a bit from the ground, and offered a tentative smile at the man.

"And, it's not just because your a guard, why I have trouble asking...I just...just kind of have trouble talking to people."

Unon barely noticed the blush on the boy's face, but figured it was from having to have a conversation. "Well you seem to be talking just fine to me," he scratched his head, "i mean youre sitting here in a conversation about how you dont like to have conversations. That's the only thing i dont get"

"The rest of the guards here, i dunno, are only here..well thats their life i have no clue why theyre so violent to the halflings. Scared maybe..scared that if they dont hurt them, then they all may revolt, protest. We have some that already do..." He started trailing off again and he blushed just a wee bit. He saw the other man smile and it made him happy inside. Unon smiled back and sat down on the bed about a foot away from Adrian.

At the comment about not understanding why he was having that conversation with Unon, Adrian blinked in confusion. Why was he still talking to the man? He began to think about it, and in the end came to two conclusions...the first, was that - for some unknown reason - he wanted the guard to understand him. So he honestly was trying harder then normal - and the other reason...it just didn't seem as hard to talk to Unon. He didn't know why, but it just wasn't as difficult.

The halfling almost missed the second part of what the man was talking about, so absorbed in thought he had been, so he hurridly jerked himself back into focus. He sneaked another gaze up when Unon trailed off, and caught the blush - he couldn't help the smile that appeared on his face at that. The guard who seemed so sure of himself, blushing...well, and it was rather cute.

Thinking back on what had been said, he spoke again, "I think that...maybe the ones that do revolt, and protest...maybe they do it because of how they're treated..."

The raven halfling kept himself from finishing his thought - 'because of how they're treated...and because they're kept locked up like this.' As friendly and kind as the guard seemed - he was still a guard. He didn't know the man, and didn't know what would make him angry...and Adrian couldn't help but not want to make him angry. Of course, he didn't like anyone being angry with him, but this was different...he didn't really know how, but it was.
