arrow Island 1 (fast forward a bit to da future!)

Well, back to business as usual. Interestingly enough, as the day comes and goes, when the next day falls, on Island 1, there's a camera crew, and news teams. And who's there but Faust, out on the docks in the civilian area entryway, wearing a blue uniform top and black pants, and a blue hat that looks almost like a beret of some kind. He's got a microphone and he's talking to the television crew..

As Faust talks to camera crews, he's made care to let it be known that the media can only go so far into Seafoam; right now, the civilian docks of Island 1 are all he's let them onto. There's crews from several channels there, and he looks cheerful as he speaks to them. One would almost swear the blonde man sparkles. One can almost imagine the falling rose petals as he speaks in his most friendly tone of voice. To those that know the slightly crazy Faust, it's kind of a weird behavior for him. In any case, to anyone anywhere tuning in to the Television, the announcement occurs.

"I'd like to welcome the news teams of the world to the glorious Seafoam Archipeligo. As you are well aware, Seafoam is one of the greatest Military powers in the world today, and they have aided people in need when they are beset by tyrants and other world shaping events. We are truly regrettable about what occured at New Bark Town, and every effort is being made to rebuild what we can and provide aid to those who need it. While our weapons and methods are highly advanced, we were only able to scare off the unknown creature that attacked New Bark Town, and sadly, lives were lost before we could arrive. We are currently looking into the matter as we believe that whatever type of creature it is, it can cause a serious threat in the future. We hope to neutralize that threat, and bring a sense of peace to the world once more."

One of the reporters raises her microphone, calling out to the uniformed man..

'Sir, you introduced yourself as a Civilian Affiliate of Seafoam. What connection do you have to the military, if any, and are you confident that you have the capability to speak for them in such a fashion?'

Faust merely smiles and adjusts his tie.

"While I am not officially on the military dossier, I am one of Seafoam's public relations managers, as well as an independant contractor. I am a provider of funds and resources for Seafoam, and as an investor, I have the greatest faith in them. I have spoken with the General on the matter of the issue of New Bark Town, and he has agreed with me and several of the other military heads that it is not only in our best interest, but the best interest of our investors to ascertain that the population is safe. You see, Seafoam is not like a normal military.

Since the time of the Dark Wars, Seafoam has been like a guardian angel to the world. We have no political agenda. We have no desire to advance ourselves in the eyes of the world's corporations. Totally independant, totally seperate, we will protect the world from the real dangers that beset it; Not all of the Forbidden were killed. Not all of Team Rocket was silenced. As long as threats to humanity's future exist, we will exist to combat them. Perhaps there will be a day when Seafoam's forces will no longer be needed. But until such time, We have only one concern. Humanity's safety at any cost. That the mistake of years ago will not be repeated."

Again a clamor of questions, Faust pointing to a gentleman with a pad and pencil..

'You mentioned a non-military announcement regarding the entire world. What is it you wanted to tell the world in this case?'

"Ah, my announcement. Well, my company, which in a sense is a shadow company comprised of myself as a primary investor, and several other investors who wished to remain nameless at this time, have determined that the world is in a good state despite the disasters happening of late. Because of this, we would like to sponser an event. Since the disbanding of the Pokemon League many years ago, Pokemon have been thriving in population. The decimated population due to the wars has had thirteen years to thrive and new breeds are being discovered even as we speak. With this in mind, my company, Omega Corp, has decided to launch a new pokemon league!"

Murmers and a cacaphony of questions going, with cameras flashing and video cameras recording..helicopters and boats, all recording live..

"Omega Corp Limited has decided to pool our investments and build a new Pokemon League Stadium. We will have a tournament of thousands, perhaps more, to determine something. You see, The old Gyms have been closed down. This is troubling to us. Seafoam has been doing renovations as our own, in a sense, autonamous nation in regard to this. We will have a set of Gyms on this island alone. They will be part of the Neo Pokemon League. All of the Old Gyms will be reopened, and in the case of those who are still alive, the leaders reinstated. If any former leader chooses not to resume their former position, we will choose an appropriate successor inedpendantly, or at their urging and opinion. In total, there will be Four sets of Gyms in the main League. Seafoam will have its own Elite Four, as well as there being an Elite Four for the entire league as a whole."

Another flurry of questions. Faust nods to one young lady.

'Will Seafoam's Elite Four and Gym Challenge be a part of the main Leauge, or will they take a stance of a seperate entity?'

"Ah, an excellent question. Seafoam's Gyms and Elite Four are a seperate entity, though they will be Neo League endorsed. In a sense, Seafoam's trainers and Masters are the best of the best, anywhere. As such, Seafoam takes the stance of 'Optional Boss'. Our Gyms and Elite Four are more for Prestige. However, the badges will be officially sanctioned by the Neo League, and anyone who can defeat Seafoam's Gym Leaders, and especially their Elites, will be hailed as the best of the best, champion of champions. Unlike normal challenges, the Elite Four of Seafoam are Elemental Masters, who will not use a team to fight the challenger's pokemon, but they will use their own abilities. It will be the first Pokemon versus Human fight in known history!

The Neo-Leauge will be run like the old league in every respect. But the tournament has a few special rules. These are the rules. First! There will be no legendary pokemon in this tournament, under any circumstances until the last leg. Once you catch and register your team, until the Final Round, that is the team you must use! When it comes down to the Last Eight, The teams will be allowed to change out up to TWO pokemon from their team for two others in their possession. At that time, legendary pokemon as we know them, will be permitted, as it will be an all or nothing event to determine what we are determining. Shadow and Light elemental Pokemon will be LIMITED to one per team, as well! I will have a list prepard of disallowed and restricted pokemon when this begins. Second! You do not have to have a team of six, but it is required you have a team of at least three. Pokemon matches are done in the old style, until a forfeit or a faint. Third! You have one month starting from the minute this report ends to go out, and catch! Omega Corp Limited will be selling Pokeballs of all of the old standard type.

Finally, I want to make this clear. The people in First, Second, Third, and Fourth Place in this tournament will become the Neo Elite Four of the Pokemon League. There will be no Champin at this time. From that point on, the League will be self-run, under Omega Corp's supervision, AND the supervision of Seafoam, to ensure there is not an incident like the League Wars ever again. The winner of the tournament will recieve a Trophy as the first Pokemon Tournament Winner in thirteen years, one million dollars in cash to be paid by Omega Corp, and a special Shadow Ball, the 'Neo Master Ball' as my associates call it..and their name put as the first Pokemon League Winner recorded since the wars! That is all. Go out there and start catching! Pokeballs and pokematerials are being sold at Omega Corp sanctioned stores the moment they open as of today! Thank you all for coming, and good day!"

And with that, Faust turns, the MPs holding back the media from following him as he walks back onto the Island shore.

arrow Approaching Island 1

For what felt like the millionth time since they had left the mainland, Honinbo ran his fingers across the heavy golden chain strung about his neck to reassure himself of its presence. The darkly tanned man wasn't worried about losing the piece, more that he was using it as a life-line. The almost ritual complete, he stares with worry out at the approaching island. While technically considered first on Seafoam's island chain, this distinction made the man think hard enough to momentarily forget his worries.

It was likely just a protocol thing, one entered at the first level and worked his way up. Or in in this case. That thought made him pause, working backwards over what he knew about the area and the topography. In and up, an interesting question to pose to the proper minds. Perhaps there was something to it, could the leylines of the archipelago create a spiral? If so what were the m...

His train of thought derails as the wide barge he was riding on shifted slightly and sent him scrambling for the railing. Kayriel had said the damn boat was as stable as one could possibly get and still store all his gear. What a bloody crock that was, thing bucked like a wild horse for pete's sake!

If he'd had any lunch left, Honinbo would have made his first contribution to Seafoam on his way into Island 1's harbor. As things stood, he simply entered in as dignified a manner as was possible.

arrow Island 1: Gateway

Anyone in anthropology worth their salt quickly learned to spot a few things when first approaching a new culture.

The obvious ones were the physical aspects of the world around you, what the people were wearing and if it related to the climate or not, how and when the buildings were constructed, where the people shopped and ate, that sort of thing.

Less obvious aspects needed to be observed for a time, as Honinbo was doing now. Resting in the shade of a large sculpture and apparently dozing peacefully, he takes mental notes on what he sees. Posture, social interaction, meal times, acceptable levels of consumption, pets, and anything else that could be gleaned from were he sat were stored away for future analysis.

For the most part this Gateway City seemed relatively normal despite being completely surrounded by water. Really he'd only come across one major pressing question so far, and it was that question that stayed with Honinbo as he made his way to the closest military welcome center.

What the HELL was a pokemon?

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

Honinbo smiles good naturedly at the receptionist as he hands her(him, whatever) his papers.

The transfer papers before you simply scream of foreign influence, the paper being thicker and the inks darker than are commonly used. The elegant script seems to have been hand written in caligraphy with a care uncommon to military command structure. It declares the heavily tanned man standing before you as Lance Master Honinbo Dosaku, a Military Anthropologist and R&D man from some place called Center Shield, under the command of Grand Marshall Chris Ganale.

Below that statement is a request for transfer to the island nation of Seafoam, under the command of General Chris Ganale.

:Medixia rushes towards the woman who seemed in no condition to be walking. With the poison still circling her body, it does seem like trainer is starting to reabsorb the deadly atmosphere back into her body. She slows as she comes within speaking distance, if only to keep the deadly atmosphere away from the woman. She doesn't want to distress her, whoever she is, further than she already has been.:

Um... Hello. I'm Kusinagi Medixia, a medic. Can I be of assistance?

The somewhat petite woman looked up from her place on the sands.

"Not certain what there is to heal. I'm pretty banged up, but there's no external injuries. I think most of what I have in that respect is only internal, maybe around the rib area, if the burning pain is any indication."

She flashed a slight smile. Her features were decidedly asian, but her hair didn't match that visage at all. Too pale. Too much a symbol of power. What is noticeable however is that the poison that flows around Medixia's body seems to flow away from the woman, on an intangible wind. Defense mechanism on her part, most likely.

:Medixia takes a deep breath in, and the rate of absorption speeds up considerably. It seems the calmer the girl is the less the poison escapes. She is surprised to see another with distinct Asian roots, like her, so she begins to wonder if she has a traditional name. She decides not to pry and approaches a bit more; though, she's obviously quite shy. She even holds her arms close to her chest as if afraid to touch.:

I may not look like much, but I can help with that... My curse...can also be used to heal.

:Though she knew using her poison was difficult for healing purposes. She'd just stick to the curative magic.:

"Then by all means.." the woman turned her head just slightly, flashing a very brief smile over at the young woman, before wincing in pain. Anyone who'd seen the fight.. who'd been unfortunate enough to be inside that bubble. It was apparent how much she'd fragged herself.

"I'm Keitaro Yumiko.. it is very nice to meet you." so, she was Seafoam's ambassador. Fitting.

:Medixia thinks on the name for a moment. It sounds familiar... After a moment, she blinks before her eyes go wide. She deeply bows as a sudden wisp of poison escapes her pores.:

Ah! Keitaro-sama!

:She looks at her hands and realizes the deadly atmosphere is starting to gather around her again. Taking a calming breath and counting to ten, she rushes over to Yumiko as the poison once again retreats. Medixia bows again as she offers her gloved hand to the Wind Mistress. It's obvious that the girl is only a trainer, and she's of the poison variety. The gloves seem to be a way of separating her from human contact, keeping the poison well away from others.:

Please be seated. I'll start healing you right away.

Quite a bit more than a Master of her element now, she was quite a bit more. She takes the gloved hand that was offered, and pulled herself up. She didn't seem worried about the poison, as a cooling wind gusted gently around the poison trainer, blowing back the deadly fumes in a defensive mechanism.

"It is much appreciated. Truly, Kusinagi-chan."

:Medixia quickly blushes as she releases her hand from Yumiko. Though the gloves separate her fatal skin from those she might need to come into contact with, she still fears prolonged exposure. Still...:

Oh no... Please. Call me Medixia...

:She quickly nods before digging into her knowledge of spells. Though the curative magic would only be used as first aid, she knows it will do much to ease the pain. A bright light glows around her. It would seem she's invoking the most powerful Cure spell, Curaja. It would take some time to complete, however.:

Ah... This wind is nice...

:It seems Medixia's concentration isn't easily broken, so she talks even as she works on the spell.:

She remains still as the wind, and healing energies focus, her golden eyes closing, as her head tips back, and she smiles.

"Medixia then. And yeah.. the wind is nice. Have you ever been flying? It's really something."
PostPosted: Sun Apr 08, 2007 4:30 pm

:Medixia blinks as the energies congeal.:

No. I've dreamed of being a butterfly... A beautiful butterfly whose shed her deadly body...

:She smiles, solemnly, at the Wind Saint as she releases those curative energies. As she does so, she speaks the name of the spell as if to reinforce what it is and ensure the effects.:

Curaja!

:In effect, it's a Cure spell with so much focus and congealed energy that it even overflows to any nearby. Medixia tries to concentrate on it and keep as much of that energy focused on Yumiko to ensure her internal bleeding and injuries are healed.:

You should start to feel better soon, Keitaro-sama.

"It's a blessing, and a curse, did you know that? Having this kind of power is a blessing, and a curse.." a soft mumbling, as her eyelids drooped heavily. The release of pain was a relaxation she needed heavily, but unfortunately, it was starting to put her to sleep.

"One day, I'll take you flying.." and the woman curled just slightly on her side as she fell back into the soft sand, sleep overtaking her. She looked incredibly fragile in this state, though to see her fight, you wouldn't imagine it.
