"I'm sorry to interrupt the class, Iyasu-sama. But, I wanted to thank you for approving my application to become a geisha. And, I was wondering if you could still keep teaching me after I become a geisha, since I really need help with the shamisen." she said a little embarrased for interrupting the class for this.

"You are very welcome, dear. I believe that you are ready for our world and that you will do wonders it." She smiled graciously to the raising star, "Do not worry, if you wish I will give you private lessons on the shamisen and for singing at my okiya or your okiya."

"Really?" she said smiling, "Thank you Iyasu-san."
She was very happy she was going to be able to continue her studies.

"Of course, Ariku-san! Now, why don't you go and join the others while I set the music stand and get ready for the extra lesson today." Iyasu bowed to her before walking to the front of the class room and clapping her hands together.
"Is everyone warmed up and ready to start?"

Kioku bowed in response, a tiny anticipating smile on her childish features.
(I'm sorry for the short responses, but it has been rather annoyingly difficult for me to think of anything to type. crying )

Ariku nodded and smiled. She took her shamisen out and tuned it quickly.
She then nodded her head that she was ready for the lesson.

Kioku blushed and nodded to Ariku to notify her that she was saying hello. She smiled a bit and then looked away.

"All right girls! I want to hear the entire song in the first tempo you learned it in and then I'll up the beat." Iyasu said aloud, "On my count: one . . . two . . . three . . . four . . ." She nodded to them for them to start.

Ariku smiled at Kioku and set her shamisen in the right position.
When Iyasu signaled, she began to play the song. She kept her hand strong and played the correct notes.

Hara put her shamisen in the right position....then started to play as the teacher had asked...This was one of the songs she knew well....for her father would play it all the time... while her mother danced....Hara smiled at that thought...and continued to play the song with the upmost grace.

Kioku stopped playing her shamisen and looked over to the koto lying only a few feet from her, she couldnt resist the urge, and scooted softly over to the koto, positioning herself to play.
She listened to the other girls around her, and then started to work on the koto to harmonize with the other girl's shamisen.
The shamisen she could play well, but the koto was her expertise.
There was no flaw, but all that was played, was played from the sad and lonely soul of her heart. The music was sadening, but beautiful.

She raised a brow as Kioku played the koto. Although she was very good it was not what the rest of the class was doing. She smiled and shook her head, thinking of how much she loved that instrument.
"Very good girls. One more time, but a little bit faster." She said as stood up, "Kioku-chan, may I have a word with you?"

Yuri Let out a sigh before playing like always and let the world slip away as she played as Iyasu-san requested. She was quite confident in what she could do and had been practicing at the okiya alone since her okiya seemed very quite and empty lately.
