Spotting a familiar face, Zayn trotted over to FP. "You're here," he smiled. "Oh, of course you are. Where else would you be?" he laughed at himself, rubbing the back of his head. "Wasn't that Retreat something though?"
Zayn was looking forward to the next part immensely. He wanted to see more wonderful places like the Retreat!
He yelped as someone pushed past them, hurridly making her way to a corner. Peering after the frightened female, he asked FP, "Does she look okay?"

After stuff his face for quite some time he looked up and grinned at Zayn with relief. "Yay I didn't think anyone I knew would be here!" Then quickly chugging down some of his drink he slapped the cup down on the table and spoke again. "Oh yes it was... heh heh."
Fire's head jerked towards Zayn's yelp shortly after he began to sip his drink. "Wow... it doesn't seem like it... Wonder what's wrong?"

[Junkan- Bakemuno]
The half ogre, finally seemed to be slowing down... it seemed he had consumed an amount of food, plates, and serving utensils that were at least equal to the massive person's weight. But slowing down he was. He was sitting between two tables, his eyes ranging between a cut of a strange type of meat he didn't recognize, and something that looked like a bird, but smelled more like some kinda plant.
All these weird foods. Artichokes that looked like hedgehogs, hedgehogs that looked like artichokes, nothing was as it appeared. It was slightly infuriating. And the spices, so many spices, clogging up his nose, confusing him.
Finally, his eyes rolled into the back of his head. He fell, the ogre's skull hitting the glass floor like a rock, and chipping the surface where it struck. His mouth opened wide, and a strange, low, grumbling snore came from him.
He had passed out, in the middle of the buffet.
[James- Lookout]
James couldn't help but shake his head. Between fools like the half ogre, or that new boy that came in, and those that were acting like you were making them walk the plank, like that most recent woman, there was more than enough for James's taste.
He let out a scoff, resting his lance against his shoulder, as he kept his post, right to the left, his left, of the doorway, leaning up against the wall. He had a nice view of everything, the band, the guests, the wraiths, the hostess. And no one was leaving, without going past him.

As Masa arrived the nearest wraith, she tentatively reached out her hand towards a glass on the tray that the wraith was holding. After taking the ice-cold glass, she smiled a little. "Thanks..." She didn't know quite what to do with herself after that, so she walked back to the edge of the room and continued watching the non-human members of the orchestra. Any appetite she had once had had vanished with the gluttenous half-ogre, who had just passed out.
Sighing gently, she looked around the room. Most of the people looked friendly enough, but she still felt like there was too many there to try and socialise with. After taking a few sips of her drink, she began to wonder what to do next. If this was a room full of forest animals instead of humans, she would be fine.

In true style, the majority of the nobles soon arrived at the party and once in particular looked rather impressive. Behind the mask the severe silver mask were a set of cold amber eyes, both of which surveyed the scene idly before glancing round to find the one they were to escort. Eventually the woman, dressed in a rather sleek emerald green gown followed in after him and surveyed the scene for herself before nodding in some form of satisfaction - even a smile was on her lips as her gaze fell upon the sleeping half ogre.
...Time to socialise!
"Junkan!" She called merrily, spreading her arms out wide as she approached the half-ogre, a bright smile plastered to her lips as she left her silverhaired escort in the doorway (one would have thought he would be offended but his expression remained stoic).
Instead, he simply moved towards the wraith closest to Masa and extended a hand for a drink before his gaze at last settled upon the druid beside him.
"The party is not that bad my friend." He offered quietly, almost in reassurance as he placed the glass to his lips and continued to survey the scene his eyes narrowing rather abruptly as he caught sight of the large sapphire blue hat and the silver mask beneath it.
"Ferosa..." He growled softly (almost sadly) to himself, his eyes remaining fixated upon the woman who had chosen to dress not in a gown but instead in her black leggings, blue top and boots as though she was travelling and not in the middle of a ballroom.
"Ah! M'lady you're here!" Cried another male voice from the crowd as the scholar scuttled out from the centre and towards the form of Ferosa, both bowed in greeting to one another, "How have you been - I haven't seen you in years!"
"Like wise Professor." The woman replied gently as her voice throbbed with confidence yet remained hushed in an attempt to mask some of the attention from her, "I have been well if not somewhat preoccupied in my own affairs...yourself?" She continued as their conversation began to deepen.
The gentleman beside Masa was becoming aware of the sheer amount of people arriving at the temple and the disturbing issue for him was that he recognised far too many of them...

Quinn stared goggle-eyed at all the newcommers. It was as if all of Gaia was emptying itself into the Hall through a seive. Retreating to a clear bit of wall space, Quinn sat her plate on the floor, took her plush from her head and stretched it until it made a comfortable floor pillow, sat and began munching merrily, hoping someone she recognized would come in soon.

[[by the way, i forgot to mention that Misaris is a barn owl. oh and Kyada's kimono is short, about mid-thigh. so no, it's not a traditional kimono. ^^;;]]
Glancing around Kyada became very aware of several pairs of eyes staring at her; the red-haired, winged creature over by the table of food, and the human standing next to him in particular. Feeling the blood rush to her face she turned away from their glances in the hopes of holding onto what little shred of dignity she still possessed. She was fully regretting having chosen a half mask over a full one.
Things had been going so well, she'd made a graceful, feminine entrance, and had actually been excited about mingling with the people here, eating the exotic foods, and quite possibly even dancing. But all that had been shattered by a stupid wraith. Ky sighed, and began fidgeting with her shoes.
"This is ridiculous." She mumbled faintly. "I'M ridiculous. They didn't try to attack me or anything so what's the big deal?! I just need to calm down, fix myself, and start over." With an enthusiastic nod and her courage renewed, Ky slipped back into her shoes, smoothed out her kimono and headed straight for the other food table opposite from where the two nosy gentlemen where standing.
Just then did she notice the new guests. "Wow."

The hyperactive hostess arched a brow in response to the french her azure blue eyes widening as she gawked at the strange man before offering a smile and shaking her head - evidently she found it easy to recover her composure but there was still something peculiar about the woman, almost mechanic for her delicate features and lithe frame were far too 'perfect' to be that of a normal human...
"Pleasure to meet you my dear, they call me Epee!" She responded after a few moments of thought and offered her white gloved hand to him so that he might shake it or kiss it depending on his preference, she really wasn't bothered by either but manners did denote it.
"I do hope you're having a pleasant time?" She persisted, allowing her gaze to dart towards the door as another set of sapphire clad beings entered, they appeared to be part of Ferosa's entorage but still, the manner in which they mingled was most odd.
"How did you find the travel arrangements?" She added abruptly.

Masa blinked a few times and looked at the man that had just joined her, a little taken aback by what he said. She blushed a little, a small laugh escaping her lips. "I don't look miserable do I?" She was hoping the answer was no, because she didn't want to seem ungrateful or anything. She really was happy to be here, but she just didn't expect so many others.

Odilen flitted around the hall happily, the very picture of a social butterfly, pausing here and there to catch gossip or eavesdrop, then moving to look closely at the temple's architecture. "There's some great story here, mark my words," she muttered to anyone within range.
BoCo, who was small enough to come inside, merely ate another deviled egg and burped.

Ourania entered the Hall uncertainly, worrying at the uncomfortable crimson dress she had donned for the occasion. Fiore sat regally on her shoulder, Basape curled and spilling out of the Elysian's lap while she stroked his fur. The summoner had objected at first to the Familiar taking up residence there as cat fur was not the latest in-thing, but Fiore had stared at her in just such a way that she had eventually given up.
The Hall was brimming with people, most of them unfamiliar to her, at least through their various masks. She thought she spotted Quinn in the thick of it all, near a table ingesting sweets, but was uncertain and reluctant to pick through the crowd.

"More uncomfortable than miserable." The strange man replied coolly before lifting a hand to adjust his mask. During this time, he took the opportunity to focus his gaze upon the unconcious half-ogre and shook his head despite his expression remaining unreadable. His eyes did twinkle though, almost through amusement at the events unfolding and the manner in which the half-ogre had seemed to completely devour half of the tables on his rampage.
"It is advisable to not judge people by appearances." He warned calmly, his gaze shifting back towards Masa as he continued to observe her and the way in which she reacted within the crowd, "Nor first impressions." He finished, lapsing into silence with a tilt of his head and another sip of the champagne from within his glass.

"Oura! OURA!" Quinn shouted excitedly, bouncing a little on her bum and waving her arms like mad. "Oura! Come over here! I've got cupcakes!" Gleeful at finally spotting a familiar face, Quinn shouted, heedless of whom she may disturb.

Stumbling to a twirling halt, Mirror ended his dance along with the last twirling note of a melody from the orchestra. The Al Sylian's face was sweaty underneath his black and silver mask, a grin plastered upon his cheeks and his chest heaving softly with great intaken breaths. He had been dancing non-stop for the past fifteen minutes with the orchestra and he had begun to feel the air rasp along his throat.
He needed water.
Straightening his grey doublet over his vanilla poet shirt and his black leggings, Mirror fluttered his dusty wings. He had to look a bit presentable even after his dance. There was no telling who he'd might stumble into within this crowd and he didn't want to be caught under circumstances or advantages. Straightening his back and wiping his forhead, Mirror stepped bravely off the dance floor and into the sea of masqueraders. Twisting himself gently between mobs of people and moving bodies, Mirror was about to head for the dining tables when he saw two familiar faces. He blinked once, as if making sure that they were actually there before he felt his heart leap and his smile brighten into a laugh he couldn't seem to hold back.
"Zayn! Fire!" Mirror called excitedly to them, waving an arm above the crowd to signal them of his appearance, "Over here!"
