"Cannonball!!" Jasili emerged from the branches of the tree, his arms wrapping quickly around his legs, as he barreled toward the water. He landed directly next to Ruth, causing a big splash due to how high he jumped from.

Ruth didn't have time to react to the sudden cannonball of doom that landed next to her causing her to be even more drenched if that was even possible. "Oh you are so dead!" She yelled at him amongst the giggles that were fighting their way out.

The slightly water-phobic audio didn't hear the other, as he was deep under the water after that height. He stayed there momentarily, and began to float back upwards. He decided to help in the process, flailing out his arms and legs in an attempt to swim faster, but it only made him dizzier. He located the surface, and tried to coordinate his movements to head towards fresh air. This air was much too... wet.

Noticing her friend was having a bit of a problem it seemed getting up to the surface Ruth quickly reached down and grabbed his arms and pulled. "Are you alright??" her tone that of much worry as she swam/pushed Jasili closer to the bank.

As soon as his head broke the surface he gasped, stopping his flailing limbs, and coordinated them so he could at least propel himself somehow towards the shore. If you could call that swimming. "Yeah, I'm okay," he said, although whether it was true or not he didn't know. Once his feet could touch the bottom, he had an easier time getting closer to shore. And once there, he flopped over onto his back and sighed. "Remind me never to jump into water from that height again," he stated, staring up at the sky above him. "And to get swimming lessons."

Ruth shook her head as she watched her non-swimmer friend. "Well if you knew you couldn't swim then why did you jump in?" That was just one of the most stupidest things she figured anyone could do. At least he's alright though. I don't know what I would have done if he drowned. "Just consider yourself lucky that you weren't by yourself this time." Her voice stern but gentle like.

"But I didn't know I couldn't swim, I've never gone swimming before," he confessed, moving his head so he could look at her. "And yeah, I was lucky. Although I don't think I'd go swimming by myself anyway." He sat up, looking down at his damp fur and frowned, ears twitching. He rolled over onto his hands and feet and shook out his fur, flinging water droplets everywhere. "There we go!" He said triumphantly, looking over his not-quite-as-damp fur.

"Then don't just jump in expecting you'll be a natural swimmer." Ruth giggled as she watched him shake off. She was unaffected by the flying water droplets as she was still treading in the water. "Start out easy and boring then you can move up to the fun stuff like jumping in. Swimming is really easy once you know how to do it."[

He plopped himself back down on his bum on the grass, watching her tread water for a few moments. "Well, I suppose that's true," he said, eyeing the water carefully. Should he try it again and go in slowly this time? Or should he just stay out on the grass and watch her swim? Hmmm...

In the end, the former won, so he hoisted himself up and shuffled over to the water's edge, inspecting it carefully. He slowly stepped into it, then took a few more steps, then a few more until it was just above his waist, and he paused to think, then looked over at Ruth. "So, you wanna give me swimming lessons, then?"

Swimming lessons?! He's asking me for swimming lessons? Man oh man oh man! I don't know how to teach anyone anything and swimming just came naturally to me for some reason. Ayi! What am I going to do?! Ruth was panicking mentally but for some reason instead of telling Jasi no she said this instead. "Of course I'll give you some lessons."

"You don't have to if you don't want to," he offered, taking a few more slow steps out, the water up to his chest now. "I think it'll come to me eventually. I'm not sure, though." He said, looking at the water around him, thinking. He lifted his legs so he wasn't touching the bottom anymore, trying to see if he could float.

Ruth wanted to help her friend but she just wasn't sure on how to explain or show it to him. Such a time to be a natural at something where you never needed to be taught. It's a curse. I'm cursed for life!

"Well I can try to teach you but I don't quite know how to explain it." she offered as she watched him try to float. "For some reason swimming is just something natural for me."

"That's okay," he said, more concentrated on floating than speaking. His arms were flailing out, trying to keep his head above the surface, and he only succeeded in that because his feet were so close to the bottom, pushing him back up a few inches if he got too low. "Well, lucky for you it came naturally. Not so much for me, I don't think.."

"It'd help though if you didn't flail around as much. It makes it a bit harder to stay afloat." Ruth pointed out quietly as she thought of ways to teach him to swim. "Eh having natural swimming ability is probaly a curse. I'm much to fond of the water that it causes me to not want to ever climb a tree. Just thinking about climbing a tree makes me nervous."

He stopped flailing his arms after hearing her quiet suggestion, and he tried to keep his head above the water. "This is harder than it looks," he commented, trying to keep himself from flailing out. "I feel much more comfortable in a tree than in the water."
