Excuse me, I wanted intelligent tips from the DH players, not a normal Space Marine player. Sorry if I am seeming rude, but I would prefer the people who play the army give me the tips.

then go for your Psycannons and s**t. Anything that has advantages like that against beasties is something you should keep close. But flamers are still worth it if you do it before an assault - you can hit a mob and hopefully kill some off at the back so that you have less to deal with NEXT combat phase.

Daemonhunters can be one of the shootiest armies imaginable. An inquisitor with psycannon and three Heavy Bolter servitors in a Land Raider, backed up by an Orbital Strike, Vindicare Assassin, Grey Knights (who can have up to three psycannons), a GK Dreadnought or two (assault cannon yummyness although the profile in the DH codex is out of date), and some GK terminators is a pretty 'ard army and tough to beat.

Just watch your points costs, DH stuff is also very expensive. IIRC the only points break in on Thunder Hammers (25 points instead of 30).

Ah, thank you for your help, now I must invest in getting two Grey Knight dreadnoughts from Forgeworld.

Well personally I like Grey Knights a lot. I do have a shooty Inquisitor but I don't use him a whole lot. Personally I find the points better spent on more Grey Knights. Usually for 1,000 point games I have 2 10 man squads of Grey Knights, a brother-captain with a 5 man retinue, and a dreadnought with a plasma cannon. Now, no that doesn't work against everything and there are a few points left open for equipment changes but that's mostly the skeleton of my army. I've been experimenting with Inquisitorial Stormtroopers also to free up more points. That and they're one of the few anti-tank stuff you got. Basically I go with my original list and tweak it against the opponent I'm fighting. When my opponent starts taking more tanks I switch one of the Grey Knight squads for a stormtrooper squad and give them plasma guns and melta weapons. Also I start giving my Justicars melta bombs just to mess with my opponent. Not only that but all Grey Knights are pretty good against low armored tanks (hooray for str. 6!). I haven't worked with Land Raiders a lot since I don't have mine completed (only just recently picked one up) and they're pretty expensive in an already expensive point army.

Also psycannons are your friend.

Basically here's what I'd reccomend as a list for purchasing and playing as you grow your army. I'd grab them in this order.

-2 boxes of Grey Knights (also start picking up random blister packs of Grey Knights every now and then since you won't be needing a lot of Justicars and incinerators that come in those box sets)
-1 box of Grey Knight terminators (once again, random blisters every now and then of these guys is useful)
-Psycannon Grey Knights, power armor and terminator (might just want to grab one term. psycannon for the time being since there can only be one per squad)
-Dreadnought
-Inquisitorial Stormtroopers
-Inquisitor with retinue (like I said, don't use them much but depending on what opponents you play regularly they can be useful, your choice if you want it to be close combat or shooty)

Personally I find that a good starting set. From there I'd say it'd all depend on your taste of how you want to play the army. After this you can grab more Grey Knights, a Land Raider, Chimera possibly for your Inq. Stormtroopers, another dreadnought and so on. Assasins I don't use much either but once again all depending on your style of play and your regular opponents they can be useful.

Oh, if you want a model for a psycannon Inquisitor, I just modded a Grey Knight with a psycannon a bit and painted him differently. Makes a pretty good stand in.

Define these blister packs you've said a few times, and I think I need to purchase the Codex before I do anything towards getting the army itself.

Blister packs are the smaller packages that you can find on the racks at your local gamestore. Basically you only get one or two models in a blister pack instead of the 10 or so greater models you get in a box set.

That is quite interesting, I'll have to go to the store this weekend and make a list of the packs and their prices, as well as the boxed packs and Codex.

I have just recently purchased the codex, and what is this Teleport attack my Grey Knights get if they are a fast attack choice, I don't understand it.

Basically what happens is you purchase the squad as per the norm if you were purchasing it as a troops choice. However, if you feel like it, you can make it a fast attack choice. What then happens is you hold your Grey Knight squad in reserve at the beginning of the game and then you have them deepstrike into the game as per the normal deepstriking rules (with the exception of course that you're allowed to deepstrike them whether or not the mission rules allows you to).

As an additional bonus, Grey Knight terminators can deepstrike also whether or not the mission rules allow it. However they just take up the normal entry (elites or HQ, whichever you're using), not the fast attack. All this deepstriking is to compensate for the fact that they don't get transport options.
