He shrugged slightly. "It was no big deal. Didn't take me more then two hours to get everything togeather." sweatdrop He had learned the hard way that he shouldn't be allowed ten feet of an oven. Ever. Raken picked up a knife and sliced open the watermellon. "Sorry it isn't much though." True enough, there was only the pie, the watermellon, a few sandwhiches on a plate and oddly enough, a thick slice of ham. Slightly burnt.
OOC: lol >>looks at picnic<< @___@ this is making me hungry.

Fre giggled, "It's alright. It'd plenty of a picinic." Being cautious, not that she feared that he'd posion her, she picked up a sandwhich and sniffed it. "What did you put on this?" It wasn't that it was bad, her nose didn't wrinkle up, but she was curious. After all if she liked it she'd have to remember what was on it so she could make it again. She took a timid little bite of the sandwhich and found it to her liking, suprisingly. "Not bad, this is actually pretty tasty."

sweatdrop "Peanut butter and jelly." It...kinda was the only sandwhich he knew how to make. And it wasn't like there was anything like that in a cook book. He took a peice of watermellon and took a bite, a stream of juice running down from his mouth.

She took another large bite and there it was...strawberry jam and peanut butter. "I'll have to make you a ham sandwhich sometime. Mouse has a lot of herbs in her garden that taste perfect on it." When she turned her head to look at him she saw the juice running down his chin. Like a mother would do she gently wiped it away from his cheek. "You had juice running down your cheek..." she said sort of absentmindedly.
((*sighs* Ah, la amoure and PB&J. lol, Chinese food is the real food of lovers. My boyfriend and I were supposed to have a picnic for prom...but the sandwiches were gross so we went out for Chinese food instead. XD))

He fought not to blush, quickly setting down the messy watermellon. If raken really tried, he could just remember it when Tartara had taken care of him. He was the only pae of the family that had recieved her care when a child. Well, more care then a day once in a while. She wasn't a very good mother and didn't know what to do. At all. But...he concidered himself lucky in a way. Since he didn't have any siblings back then, Tartara had to take care of him, unlike his brothers and sisters.

She removed her hand and smiled at him. Fre didn't want to ruin the silence that sort of fell between them at the moment, in fact it was nice not to think of something to say. Her thoughts drifted back and forth about this, about that, her mind just couldn't seem to focus on one thing. Softly she planted a kiss on his cheek, not really sure if she should, and let the action resume. "It's gone now, but we should've brought napkins, huh?"

His cheek tingled even after she pulled away. What was he to do? He could deny all he wanted but...after uttering those words from yesterday...there was no way for him to banish the feeling. Curse him why did he have to meet Fre?! Well...now he didn't have much of a choice now did he? He could deny all he wanted, ignore the female and block her off forever but...he would never get rid of the feeling. Unwilling or not, he was stuck it the hold of...love. While she was still close, he leaned over and kissed her cheek back. "Yeah...we should've."

Fre was a little caught off guard by the kiss, after all she hadn't imagined that he'd actually kiss her back on his own accord. She smiled and took another bite of her sandwhich, happily shewing over the moment. "So," she began as she swallowed. "About yesterday. I wanted to apologise too...that was a little too much, probably way too soon."

He strugged, cautiously picking up his mellon for a second try. "You had just caught me off gaurd. And I had...allowed myself to show that there is actually, a bit more to me that just training and reading." After today, he would be sure to lock up that little weakness. Playing around and having...picnics were simply a waste of time. No matter how enjoyable they could be.

"Life isn't always about training and reading," she said between bites. "But I understand that you have a dream; you want to be an elder. But isn't it nice every now and then to take a break?" Though she wasn't a book-worm like him, she trained everyday too. By running around, swimming, and hiking up hills and things. She also trained with Starry every now and then, learning more about her power and how to control it. "Maybe you should come train with me one day. Not that I do much, mostly just explore the area, but it's a fun adventure and you never know what you'll see."

Fre sighed internally, there wouldn't be any way to convince him to take more time off to be with her until then. She'd keep trying anyways, it was just her way. "Well it's hilly and there's plenty of trees to climb. Plus there's always swimming and things. Sometimes it's nice to just explore around."

"While it is nice it will hardly help me get noticed by the Elders. I have been chosen as a possible canidate and I do not want to mess up this chance." Ever since he had reached adult stage he had wanted nothing more then to become an Elder. They had so much...knowladge in their eyes. More then something that can be learned by some book. Not exactly the best of reasons maybe, but it was the one that kept him training everyday, kept him from doing...'fun' things besides reading. He would acheive his goal one day...he would.

Fre gave a non-commital responce. She didn't want to get in his way of doing what he wanted, but she couldn't help but feel sad. There'd always be times to go to the library to check out a new book...and who knew maybe Birthday liked to read too and she'd have the opprotunity to take her, but the prospect of not having another day like this kind of left her upset. She'd just have to enjoy it while she could.

He knew very well that she wasn't very happy with the prospect of waiting until he acheived Elder status. But...this is what he was. Even when a child he had a natural curiosity, always wanting to know more. He was finally going to get that knowladge that he had sought for and if that ment training everyday for the rest of his life and sacrificing days filled of swimming and the like then so be it. This was one of the many complications emotions brought.
