SJL Reading; The Last Battle by C.S Lewis (Though I consider The Silver Chair & The Horse & His Boy his better books.) I used to love those books as a child! And even though I went to a Catholic school, I never saw any Christian symbolism. I'm really slow. My favorite is the one with the boat. Because they're like, on a boat. Boats rock. surprised

Chock full of symbolism, it drips of it ... oh yes ... If anyone wants to know some of the symbolism, drop me a line and I'll be happy to tell the vundeva story. ninja

All of this talk of the books make me want to buy the books or borrow it so I can re-read them for the... I don't know... 20th time. That's realistic. ^^;

OokamiKage_X I know... I haven't been to my library in awhile... crying And my mom has something against my reading books that have nothing to do with SAT's or textbooks. Sounds like a great way to encourage reading. rolleyes (nothing against your mom, but that's kind of ... pressing things a bit too much) I hate the emphasis on the SAT's, it really doesn't test your knowledge, it just test how well you can take a test. Textbooks are ok reading ... if you're interested in the subject, but lets be honest ... they're boring as hell. gonk (this coming from a soon to be teacher)

I love reading. And some textbooks are entertaining. I like my history textbooks... USUALLY.
crying It's been like this since forever. I keep telling her she should be happy that I even like reading. Then she tells me, "I'd be happier if you read good books."
Seriously just because I like Harry Potter, Tamora Pierce, and Dan Brown doesn't mean I'm going to live on the streets for the rest of my life.
>< This could be my next rant.

I picked up the first volume of Cyborg 009 before I left SD because I wanted something to read on the plane and I had to make a quick descion. It was ok, but not nearly as good as the introduction made it sound. You should all read the introduction, it's very well-written.
I also got a Calvin and Hobbes.
