Takeko giggled, hearing Aspen take chase. She swerved quickly, using her wings to help her change direction and dashed into the shallow water. Sending the water splashing up behind her, she kept running, now fighting the natural resistance of the river flowing gently around her feet and ankles. She intended to make a real game of this and hopefully she could make it last for a while. Of course, the water resistance only added to the work, but she didn't care. It was more fun running in the water than on the boring shore.
"That's what YOU say!" she taunted back, putting on a burst of speed as she bounded over smooth river rock and kept running.

Aspen chuckled as Takeko went into the water. His secret weapon was in the water. He chased after her a bit more, then he smiled as a lily wall broke up in front of her. "Thought you could escape, eh?" He said running up to her.

Takeko squeaked, nearly stumbling into the wall in her attempt to stop. She lost her balance after all, falling harmlessly against the wall of lilies, laughing. "Well, not really....though that wasn't exactly fair," she teased, making a face at Aspen and pretending to pout.

Aspen smiled and went to untangle Takeko from the lilly-wall. "True enough, but then what's fun in fair play?" He smiled and touched her hair, he had always liked her beautiful long hair.

Takeko faked a gasp of shock. "Why, you cheater!" she teased, poking his chest with one finger. She couldn't keep up the act though and soon dissolved into laughter, tilting her head towards his hand. She secretly enjoyed having her hair played with.
Grinning mischieviously, she plucked a lily from the wall behind her and plopped it in his hair before breaking out in a giggle fit once more.

Aspen laughed and kissed Takeko's head. After the lilly was placed in his hair he let the wall of flowers dissipate. "I only cheated because you are too fast." He laughed with her, it was always nice to hear her laugh.

Takeko smirked at this remark. "Yes, well...I suppose you have a point there." Her halo seemed to glow as she grinned innocently. "Plus, how could I stay mad when you look so pretty?" she teased playfully, arms looped around his neck.
It felt good to laugh and act silly again. It made Takeko feel young again; young like she'd never felt before. Not that she was old, but for the first time she wasn't responsible for taking care of younger Pae'il. Of course, don't get her wrong, she loved doing so. But a break was nice. She was sure there would come a time again when she could have little ones to watch over, even if they weren't her own. Who knew? Perhaps...even grandchildren one day. The thought made her smile as a soft warmth spread through her body. Would their children find love as they had? Or even their adopted children, Kane and Cabel? Looking up at Aspen with love in her eyes, she hoped so with all her heart.

Aspen chuckled, "Do I really look pretty?" pulled her close with a large smile on his face. He was so happy that she was happy. "Hey, do you want to watch the clouds, there's a nice spot over there?' It was something they did when they were first getting to know each other.

Takeko smirked playfully, poking Aspen's nose. "Yes, you do. All you need are some nice braids. I could do your hair for you, dear. All you have to do is ask." Giggling, she kissed his cheek and snuggled against his shoulder for a moment.
"I think that sounds like a wonderful idea. It's been a long time since we've done that." She looped her arm through his, leaning on his shoulder as they walked. It was nice to have a little private time with her love.

Aspen chuckled, "When I feel the need for a braid, I won't hesitate to call." He gave her a kiss back.
Aspen found a nice spot and laid down. The clouds were floating lazily by. "So, you see anything yet?" He saw a circle, but that was it so far.

Takeko chuckled, eyeing the nearly clear sky. "I don't think we picked the best time to try this after all, dear." The angel Pae giggled, sliding over and laying her head on his shoulder, still staring at the sky. There were few clouds visible today and those that were were rather small. Didn't matter to her, however. They were spending time alone together and that's what was important.

Aspen smiled, "Yeah, I guess we did." He kissed her head and put his arm around her. "I'm sure we'll see something eventually." He didn't mind since really this was a nice excuse to be together, they hadn't done that in a while.
