Yes, becuase our avatars are almost a symbol of who we are, or who we'd like to be. Immodest clothing- while pixelated- proclaims a message of immorality, contrary to the church's teachings.
And it's annoying how most clothes on gaia are sex-related.

The cool thing is, that after I saw this thread and decided I really ought to be modest, even here, I put together an avatar that I've never been more happy with. And I've been on Gaia for a little under 2 years.

Excellant points. And I agree. Better to be modest whenever you are representing the church. Otherwise they just think you talk a lot of smack, and aren't that good of an example. I really don't like it when someone's opinion of the church is based on one person's example, especially when that one person isn't a good example.
At the same time, it'd be better to have an immodest avatar than to have an immodest person. Consider it a good way to vent your immodest fashion ideas, right?
(But I can't say too much, I was the one running around with no pants for a couple days!)
