((Ufferly~ *dances off to read*))

Thing was... Skittles was so intent on reassuring him, it seemed - or so he thought, couldn't be sure - but damn these uncertainties, could he never make up his mine? Not really...--oh bother.

Alex followed unquestioningly, wondering at the boy's ability to inspire--rekindle?--a sense of childlike frivolity. The innocent sort of revelry and joy for all things, no matter how serious, that could cushion and lighten any path. Pulling his wings in close as they entered the smaller room, he glanced about with vague curiosity and put a finger to his lips in question. They would have to be silent, yes?

Tilting the chair on its back two legs, Marks caught the balance and prevented himself from falling over by casual repositioning of his feet on the table, watching Vain with only the most detached interest. Wouldn't it just be easier to ask people where the nearest burning building was to find Three Eyes? Naw, never mind - the other people were pyromaniacs, Three Eyes was just trouble.

Skittles climbed onboard the sink, nodding at Alex, covering his mouth to keep from giggling. He swung his feet looking up at the ceiling. It would not take long for Vain to find them considering the demon had a focus.

Fingers resting on the necklace, Vain closed his eyes temporary blinding himself. Falling deeper into the relaxed meditative stage, the red of his eyelids wavered and then darkened to black. His hearing of the outside word deafen next and the erratic pulse started, a iridescent thread appearing sparkling in small rainbows. Skittles thread? Had his talent approved so much for him to see them now? Well with a focus it seemed. The thread had the same erratic pulse and when he reached out with metaphorical inquisitive fingers it wrapped around him in warm purring velvet.

Blind and deaf, Vain slip from the table walking slowly across the kitchen floor, pausing at the door till the scent hit that as well outlining it in a pale gray so he could pass and continue onto the living room.

Alex nodded imperceptibly, keeping movement to a bare minimum - didn't want to go ruining the game--magic--by scraping the linoleum too loudly.

To his mild irritation, Marks discovered that he had no freaking idea what the hell Vain was doing. Deigning to follow at a normal pace with all normal sounds involved in walking - clear steps, etc. - as there was no chance of causing the 'prey' to flee if they knew they were supposed to be found, he thought darkly on this supernatural tracking. Heck, if you couldn't do it for real it was hardly manly to be able to do it through spook-tastic means.

Enh, whatever worked.

He broke it off the link half way across the room with a chuckle, "The bathroom? Skittles..." Vain shook his head amused and crossed the rest of the floor in a swift sure motion giving a knock on the door. "The bathroom? Skittles are you molesting someone in there?" He called clearly amused by the turn of advents.

Skittles giggled before bouncing down from his perch, opening the door, and throwing himself up at Vain with a giggle. "So it worked?" He sang, clambering up the other, locking his legs around Vain's waist and cling there like a monkey.

"Yes.it seems it grew as well so lets get this done and their friend found. Skittles off me." Vain tapped the other lightly on the head till it sunk in and Skittles slid down to the floor.

Blinking in surprise and amusement, Alex followed cautiously. Good news was it worked - over short distances, albeit. The real test was now... but it was good to warm up, yes?

"He make a habit of that?" Marks muttered, before Rob could respond with anything tactful. Shaking his head before anyone could respond, he headed for the shop door, flicking a gesture over his shoulder for the others to follow, "Stop playing, kiddies - let's get this over with." And he headed out into the street, waiting for their human--....vampiric... compass to lead the way.

"We're doing this outside now?" Vain questioned bemused as Marks walked outside the door. "Either way this should be simple now, come along you two." He started towards the door with amused smile. It seemed Marks was a little impatient to start and finish this.

Skittles actually flounced after the other, clearly in a good mood. "We're going on a road trip?" He sang in question tending to skip in and out of Vain's way. "Come on Alex! Road trip!" His tails wager eagerly, eyes bright.

Marks glanced over his shoulder at Vain with an expression that was either homicidal or simply irritated, "You think we're gonna find him inside? Come on."

Then again, judging by the busy street in front of them... finding Three Eyes outside (where he was) wasn't going to be much easier than finding him inside (where he wasn't). Fine. Call him a pessimist. Not like it wasn't true on some level.

Ah yes, the road trip. That was something that'd never... really come to fruit. They'd had talks, bare planning - whispered possibilities of adventure somewhere other than the library for once. And it just hadn't happened. Because one - they hadn't planned very well, two - they hadn't planned for any time sooner than the summer before... they died... three - Oliver wouldn't have been able to come for reasons he hadn't then specified and Alex had been loath to leave him....

Road trip. "Don't you need a car?" he asked, following along though bemusedly wrapped up once more in his own world. Road trip. That about summed up his first encounter with Marks, though it had also been something of 'on the run' - well, mostly the latter. But they'd still been in a car and they'd still crossed interstate lines quite frequently. Road trip...

Inside had at least a semblance of quite, a peaceful air. Here it was busy, loud, with the cars rushing by. He shook his head, following marks out into the street. "Where are you planing on going anyways?" He questioned. Marks seem to have some destation planned.

"Not always, you can travel along the road with out a car. It's still a road trip, your traveling somewhere." Skittles grinned. "Have you ever just traveled? Hitch hiking has a charm to it as well
."

"Following the leader," Marks shouted back over the ruckus. "Go on, Fido - fetch us a three-eyed freak. Fetch."

Just traveled? No... No, he'd always been going somewhere. The closest to 'just traveling' had been when he was trying desperately to get away from something... and that hadn't turned out entirely successful in the end. Not that he wasn't glad, in retrospect...

"No," Alex said softly, realizing belatedly that he might not be heard on the street. He shook his head to clarify with movement, "Hitch hiking is a little beyond my experience."

It was a decidedly healthy thing that Vain had decided not to do. Because Marks' mood was so foul he probably wouldn't have held back in retaliation - not saying there was a single mood in which he ever held back... Between Justice (read: Vengeance) and Mercy, Marks had always sided with the former.

Crossing his arms, the demon stayed a mere arm's length away from Vain and watched the process intently.

"Faster than we would have been alone, I'm sure," Alex whispered in response, deigning to sit beside Skittles rather than stand about awkwardly. Perhaps the crowd might think it odd for two people to sit in the middle of the sidewalk, but Alex preferred sitting with Skittles and maybe attracting attention from strangers than standing about without purpose and getting a weird look from Marks.

Their relationship was still.... delicate.

Over exert? Hm. That begged further curiosity as to the nature of Vain's ability. But for now there was a question... Alex made a noise that might've been a laugh, but was probably latent irony and smiled slightly, "If by 'this' you mean 'scary', 'difficult' or 'needlessly aggressive' then yes." He shook his head with another half-noise, this one more like a sigh, "He just doesn't..." no, that was territory he wasn't supposed to tread on in public. Explaining someone's psychological groundwork was intrusive to their privacy. And Marks would likely take some sort of sensibly aggressive, negative reaction to any sharing of the way his brain worked.

Skittles made a face at the answer. Lovely, just the type of arrogant agressive man that stepped from the cave. He pushed his hair back to his ear and sigh, his ear was no longer there. They where now golden ears ontop of his head. He twitched them, staring up at them. "You ever forget about different things now?"

What if he just reveresed the tracking? In a way the base was a focus, he should just be able to block out the focus. It might take a moment to puzzle this out. He took a deep breath and focused on the base pulling them all into light. So many..now to dim them, block them out to focus on what remained.

Things? Oh, right. Ears et cetera. "No," he said, truthfully. It might be easier for some than others... but there was just something so different, psychologically as well as physically, to having wings. Not that he could use them or anything. Still, the idea of a human--er... -- humanoid creature being capable of flight... Marks had certainly taken that to his full advantage.

There were disadvantages, of course. Kingsley could rail all about the lack of toes - he hadn't taken hooves very well. "It is a little strange..."
