Having removed another root, Arwen's too-wide eyes shifted back to her partner. "I hope it's enough," she replied in a breezy voice, not quite feeling herself. She was deeply disturbed by what they were doing...even if it was out of necessity, it still didn't sit well with her. "Let's...take one more from this one, and move on." The girl managed to squeeze out her words above a whisper, her stomach still churning. So great was her focus on the task that she hadn't noticed any of the others or the adults in the area, her mind working overtime between fighting her fear of being away from the City and keeping herself together from her disgust at her current classwork.

Daggart nodded and grinned broadly. "I just wonder what I'll look like... if I'll be as strong as them, or confident... They seem so capable." He sighed as though thinking of a distant dream before kneeling down and grasping the mandrake, "Spray it first, right?" He didn't just in case that was indeed the procedure. --- Kallisto nodded and went down to her knees before grasping the Mandrake, "Go ahead and spray then." She was smiling and tugging a little on the plant, to feel the resistance - she didn't want to stumble over like that Cyphr had done after all.Day 5 Task answers for Alpha, Gamma, Sigma 1. Which Elemental magic types are weak against Earth? Fire, water 2. List three deities classified as Earth Mothers. Brigid; Demeter; Freya 3. List the chromatic properties of the colour Green. The colour green is typically associated with a range of emotions and states of being including: freshness, renewal, earth, strength, magic, fertility and hope. Different people perceive colours in different ways, so you may have other associations, which are equally valid. Green mostly has positive associations. As a form of spiritual symbolism, it played an important part in Islam, as the sacred colour of the prophet and of divine providence. In China green jade symbolises perfection, strength, longevity and magical powers, and green dragons are a symbol of the yin energy and water. Green was also the so-called colour of the Holy Grail and Ireland is traditionally known as the Emerald Isle. For Pagans green is linked with the natural elements of earth and water, the freshness of new life, of renewal and hope, and it’s become strongly associated with ecology. In the chakra system, green is associated with the heart chakra. The visible green light has a wavelength of about 510 nm 4. List three spells that draw off Earth Manna. Clubs - (Meaning: Clubs is equivalent to the Tarot suit of Pentacles, or coins. The suit of Pentacles stood for earth, stability, money and possessions. In modern interpretations it is associated with the three-leaf clover.) Spell: Clubs offers a lowered difficulty on the casting of any Earth-aligned magic by 5%, and lowers difficulty on Stances by 7%. 1. Muladhara - (Meaning: The Root. The Chakra or energy centre at the base of the spine where the kundalini serpent energy lies "coiled", ready to be awakened. The Muladhara Chakra is activated by using an appropriate mantra white meditating on the Tattva symbol of Earth, Prithivi.) Spell: Muladhara requires a Mudra to be formed for grounding and earth, and with a deep breath and focus, the energy of the Muladhara chakra is pressed down into the earth beneath the castor's feet. This means that he or she must have solid footing on the floor or ground where they wish to cast. The Muladhara sends out a rumbling shockwave through the ground to rattle an opponent's defenses. Earth - (Meaning: The Element of Earth represents life, bounty, stability, protection, strength and patience. In alchemy the physical personification of earth is the Goblin, who possess many skills of their own, and live and work in and around mortal culture, sometimes congruently and sometimes as opposition.) Spell: Summoning the Element of Earth enables the Caster to encase his target in rock to cause Petrification. The Petrification can withstand 4 points of damage from the inside or outside, meaning the target must break their way out, or have a friend break them out. That said, it can also be used in dire situations to protect a target from 4 points of damage. 5. Name two movies that show mandrakes. Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, Pan’s Labyrinth 6. Find an image of a Manticore. Manticore!

Emrys fidgeted a little at that, staring down at his toes. He was really not very good at all in social situations. Glancing up at the other again, he blinked, then half-stammered, "I ... I think I should probably cut." His voice was a bit softer now, not quite so nervous, but most definitely shy.Team Mu & Kappa answers TASKS DAY 5:1. Quenda looked up and nodded, offering a grateful smile. Vanga nodded as well, but he did not bother to look up from where he worked, quickly snipping another root from the mandrake.
"How many," Vanga asked from his place in the dirt, "are out there?" He looked up once, his mutable eyes shifting to blue and then red before returning to green.
Beyond them, in the forests, an Andras scout slithered further down a tree from where he lay watching. Empyreans, big ones, outside the city. He blinked his owlish head and gnashed his beak once. Territory, our territory. He crawled back up onto the safety of the branch and easily stepped his way out along its length, his taloned feet gripping at the bark with ease. He reached the end of the branch at a good pace and leapt out into open air for a moment before falling onto a branch stretched out from a neighbouring tree and continued in this way back towards his group. Time to warn them, time to ride, the boundaries are being crossed, time to take some lives!

Unaware of the trouble brewing beyond the trees Nadyrr grinned slightly to his partner. If the thank you had been terse he hadn't been bothered by it, being mostly shy himself he could understand some unease when it came to others. Rolling his sleeves he stretched out his well muscled forearms and sprayed the leaves of one of the nearby mandrakes. Reaching up he made sure his headphones were set and nodded to his partner, "ready". As he spoke he brought the shears around prepared to cut the plant when it was pulled up. As he watched Lucis move he realized the older Empyrean was indeed right to take the pulling job; one stage had definantly given his muscles more development.
Belwen gritted her teeth and did her best to hold onto the squirming plant in her hand. For a moment she was afraid that her partner wasn't going to be able to cut the thing or that she would drop it before she did. As Jaenelle cut her eyes did widen some seeing the oozing plant parts and she wrinkled her nose and made herself keep from jerking away to keep the ooze stuff off of herself. Once Jaenelle had finished Belwen offered the other girl a smile of encouragement and mouthed to her, "good job".

Arron smiled encouragingly at the girl, and plucking the bottle with which they were to spray the mandrakes out of their bag, he knelt next to the nearest plant and doused it a couple of times. "Well that ought to do it."
Bracing one knee on the ground, he took hold of the mandrake firmly, and after a couple of mighty tugs, the protesting fauna came loose, wriggling to protest the outrage.
Zethyr glanced over towards their guardians...frowning at the way they seemed to be so alert...on guard. Nothing in their manner was relaxed now...was there, some danger here? It bothered the Melancholy as he observed them...but then...there was a task that must be done here. Sighing, he turned back to Mat and nodded, "Sounds feasible." He plucked up the shears with a wicked grin, winking at his teammate. "Come, let us do battle with the mandrakes."

Dariyn's eyes followed Astaroth's gaze, landing on Morrow, and he glanced between the two, swallowing hard. What he wanted to do was tell his teammate not to look at his lover like that...but...he didn't, too shy to do even that...as well...neither were doing any real harm. The little phlegmatic didn't have the nerve to challenge his teammate...far more comfortable with Morrow than anyone else...and he would rarely rebuke the artist.
"I...ok..." Biting his lip, Dariyn picked up the bottle, spraying one of the plants a few times, looking back to Astaroth for approval...before setting it down. Bracing himself, he leaned down and wrapped slender fingers about the mandrake's top, pausing a moment to adjust his headphones...before pulling at it with all his might.
The plant didn't budge.

"Do your best not to hesitate," Yambati said, kneeling by a close-by plant. He retrieved the spray bottle, wetting the plant. With a rather practiced motion - other plants had to be pulled from the ground, after all, and he had experience with those - he pulled the plant from the ground, careful not to damage its leaves.
He watched it wriggle, head tilting slightly, and then glanced over at Emrys.
--
Biwa blushed at the smile, kneeling carefully by Arron. She set her fan down only grudgingly, picking up the shears, which felt far too heavy in her hands. Bowing her head, Biwa murmured a quick apology and asked for permission from the plant, finishing just as it was pulled from the ground.
She yelped, cringing back. Did they really have to do this!? She bit her lip, very slowly and haltingly moving to cut off a clipping. Her hands shook, but she finally managed it, pulling back as if burned immediately afterwards.

Abacus followed Lior, blinking in puzzlement as he took his hand. Wasn't this sort of thing allowed between two... two... Abacus shook his head quickly and concentrated on the plot Lior had picked out. "It doesn't really look like much," he said, taking the spray bottle and spritzing the plant when Lior had finished poking it. "Well, hopefully it'll enjoy this nice little shower. Are you ready?" Abacus crouched down, flexing his fingers before closing his hands around it. "Hup!" He stood up, using his legs to pull the plant free.
...Of course, his legs failed to help him make sure that he was holding it steadily. Abacus hissed as the plant began squirming, trying to break his grip. "Ugh! The water on the leaves are making it slippery!" He twisted his grip, grabbing ahold of one of the roots and hugging it close to his chest. "Here we go, got ya! Am I in your way of cutting, or...?"Team Zeta! TASKS DAY 6: 1. Name the famous woods that harboured a band of outlaws in The Adventures of Robin Hood. Sherwood Forest 2. Fire, dark, and electricity. 8. Define "Maypole". A "Maypole" is a tall, wooden pole with ribbons fastened to the top of it. The top can also have leaves, plants, and other decorations depending on what's being celebrated. From what I have observed, during "May Fest" in the town I used to go celebrate it in, they would have dancers each grab a ribbon that was attached to the pole and, in a dance, weave the ribbon down and around the pole. It was interesting to watch, except for the fact that it was hard to see. ;;; 9. Completely uncaring as to whether anybody noticed her departure, Sombre moved at a leisurely pace away from the group, her eyes scanning the trees she moved towards. At her side, Scalpel muttered a warning, but she silenced him with a rough head-squeeze. "Must not fret.." she murmured to him with a frown, " Must not worry of the Outside-out..if the City Protects, then the Outside must teach...learnings to be had, Scalpel, learnings to be had."
-------
Cringing back from the writhing and wriggling root, Aysel's eyes were wide. It didn't even process within her mind that Cyphr had nicknamed her- Ay-ay, of all things -so intent was she on the human-like flora before her. Now we cut it, she thought but did not say. "Hold it still," was what she instead murmured faintly, bringing the shears forward with trembling hands. Come now, Ay.. she thought to herself, bringing the clippers to one of the little root's 'arms', it's just a plant. It may look human-like...but it's not. But is it sentient..? biting her lip, the Melancholy girl frowned. Were mandrake aware? Did they squirm because they knew that they were going to be hurt? She knew that she certainly wouldn't want her arm cut off, even if it would grow back. Was this right?
