One should not call upon Cthulu to destroy a spirit that has hounded someone into suicide when one does not truly even worship Cthulu, and when there are plenty of other Gods to call upon.
The wound is -still- healing!
On a slightly similar note, I believe that there should be a thread under the name of "BAD THINGS YOU SHOULD DO".
This thread could include calling on a Lovecraftian "deity"(or whatever you might like to call them) in order to destroy a spirit that has been hounding a friend into nearly committing suicide.
Edit: I use the word "deity" in quotes because I'm not completely sure if you should call them -that-. They're something alright, but maybe not quite like that.

Well I suppose it was my fault for the uneasy feeling, considering that it was my idea to conjure his sword and shield to protect the guy.....Heck, I don't even know if we did anything at all, I think the guy was just delusional....

Another bad thing you shouldn't do is to call down a demon, and think its actually a daimone, and not know the difference. Then have your friends run to help you because you don't know how to remove the demon from your own self and cause your friends to ambush you with exorcisms and beat you with mistletoe branches, which your friends have to clean up the next day.
Mistletoe leaves never want to get out of carpet.
Its also a good reason why people should learn how to properly banish things.

Yes, delusional. Delusional enough to commit suicide. Yet we stopped that, so the end result is the same.

One thing to know is, he was probably delusional because those that taught him were fluffies or he taught himself and just wasn't thinking......

Its a greek spirit, basicly. My friend found the term in a book I lent him, but ummmm, he decided to make his own conjuration spell but I think he pronounced the name wrong....

DR490N theres a method of energy leeching common to psychic vampires. i use it quite a bit to help regulate me. might not work for normals though. i imagine my energy as being solid white or blue or purple dependign on how tired i am. this requires the ability to both see and sense the energies of others. i reach a hand out, open palmed with the fingers spread comfortably and the palm towards the person, arm doesnt have to be extended. i imagine tendrils of my own energy stretching towards that person or persons and penetrating their body, typically at the spine head, or crotch, since those seem to be where the most energy is located, and imagine those tendrils leeching energy out like the typical sepiction of sonic waves, going back along the tendril towards me. however, if you aren't a vamp, i would recommend not doing this, because it can harm the other person(s) or harm you by doing so. I don't know if anyone has called you out on this, but Psychic Vampirism is a very dangerous act for the person performing it. A Psychic vampire tends to get screwed in the afterlife. According to Konstantinos, after the human body dies, the psychic vampire's soul will "latch" onto another human and take the life energy from that person. This prevents the vampire's soul from passing onto the afterlife and reincarnation. It is not good. I actually considered Psychic Vampirism for a little bit a couple years ago, but my friend steered me from it.

iolitefire Mess with Sumerian magic. 'Nuff said. Don't you mean quasi-Sumerian magic? I studied their mythology, y'ken. No squiddies in, I'm sorry to say. Or at least they weren't described as such. More as unspeakably large frat guys at a kegger who view humans as the ants at any good cookout. There was a chick with a belt of skulls. She was cool, in an Angry Drunk kind of way. ...ALSO not good deities to summon, mind, but not Lovecraftian "deities" either.
