"b***h a bit more and I'll put sparkley ones in, instead." Yazoo stated evenly as he got off his seat putting the brush back. "Beads aren't fruity unless the person carries them that way. Guess you're a lost cause."

Taking the towel that had been used to dry the other boys hair he began to fold it out of habit but then tossed it into the clothes hamper just outside the bathroom door.

He growled at the insult and pulled a braid forward, no longer placid and, in fact, rather annoyed. He was a hot-tempered kid. He began to pick at a braid, pulling the beads off and pitching them across the room once he'd freed them. He tried to use his claws to undo the elastics and the braids they held, but with them shortened, it was slow going.

"Beads can be taken out easily too..." he huffed.

He really didn't mind the braids all that much and the beads he really would have dealt with but he was just being stubborn now, passive aggressive. It was only a statement- the other didn't need to be so smarmy. One of these days...ooh, he'd wipe that smile off the other's face if he wasn't careful!

"Mmm-hm."Yazoo replied as he shook his head. What a big baby. "You know that you're being childish, right?"

Moving back across the room he took hold of the other boys hand and moved it away from the braid. If he would just be patient he could have taken the beads out without making a mess of the hair.

Beginning to refasten the elastic he drifted his fingers gently through the mane in a petting like motion. The hair had really come out soft.

He frowned, crinkling his nose. "I am a child an' so are you. So stop acting like such an adult." he snorted.

When the other reached up to touch his hair, he initially slapped out at him defensively. He gave up after one strike though. The petting really did settle him down. Quick to snap like a little dog, quick to settle down with petting as well. He still grunted irritably, though, tendrils of smoke leaking out his nostrils.

Frowning at the swat he had recieved Yazoo took a deep breath so he wouldn't yank on the braid in his hand. After all he had just accused Ifirit of being childish so it wouldn't do to prove himself a hypocrit.

"I'm mature for my age." he said evenly back as he reached for the next braid to remove the beads. Stopping his pets he slowly picked the beads out so the other boy wouldn't ruin all his hard work.

"I could give you lessons if you like." he said with a smirk.

Mature? Who wanted to be mature when you could roll in the mud, drink soda, stay up late and have fun? Mature wasn't fun. Grown-ups weren't fun. He was happy being a childish firedog-boy for now.

"What would the fun in that be? You gotta grow up some day but...I like bein' able t' have fun. Bein' mature ain't gonna be fun." he argued with a slight huff of smoke. "Maybe I should give you lesson on how t' have fun an' be a kid." he retorted, nodding at the idea. The other boy was teaching him stuff, maybe he should teach the other something! "Like how t' use a magnifyin' glass t' set bugs on fire, or how to make the perfect mud wallow, or how t' climb trees..." he listed.

Chuckling at how easy it was to get the other boy going Yazoo blinked a couple of times before replying "Mud wallow?"

He wasn't sure what the heck that was but it didn't sound inviting whatsoever to him. "I can set stuff on fire without a magnifying glass, thanks." he said rolling his eyes as he took the last bead out of Ifirit's hair.

He nodded. "Ya know, like a mudhole. It's an art, addin' enough water to the dirt to make it jus' the right..." He paused, pondering for the word. The word he was looking for was 'consistency' but damned if that boy knew that word. "The right...way, I guess. Ya know, not too soupy or nothing. It's great- you can make mud forts, mud pies, or jus' roll around in it!" he said, sighing with longing as if the topic of mud wallows was some romantic ideal.

How could someone not want to do fun things like that? Mud was awesome to play in. Plus, you could always wash it off later, so why not get dirty and have fun?

"Well, so can I..." he remarked on the fire comment. "But finding new ways to set stuff on fire is fun!" To the boy, anything entailing fire or melting was 'fun' to him.

Crawl around in the mud? That didn't sound like fun to him but the other boy seemed almost enraptured with the idea. A small frown puckered his brow as a thought occurred to him.

"You had better not try that on your way home. I want your daddy to see you all cleaned up before you go ruining it." Yazoo snapped at Ifirit. If he thought he had done all that for nothing then he was sadly mistaken. "Besides unless it is a mineral mud bath there are at least a trillion bacteria and bugs in what you discribed so count me out."

Folding his arms over his slender chest he set his expression to one of firm opposition to the idea of wallowing in mud.

He huffed at being snapped at. He wasn't planning on getting dirty on the way home, as tempting as it sounded. Maybe later, though. He actually wanted to stay clean after everything he had to go through- no sense in having to do it again so soon. It was a pain.

"I wasn't gonna!" he snapped back. At the mention of bacteria and bugs, he grinned impishly. "But that's what makes it so good! Ya need to learn how t' have more fun. But I guess you can't be good at everything." he said, intoning the last part sympathetically.

He liked rolling in mud. Kept him cool without the use of water. It was practical to him and fun besides! Granted, getting too muddy almost always meant getting the hose later, but he'd found that if he made is body a little hotter, the mud dried quiker and could usually be brushed or shook out with minimal use of water. He made things work.

"If not being good at everything means I can stay clean, I'll take it." Yazoo shot back as he stone faced the other boys grin. He didn't like to be dirty. He really didn't see anything wrong with that. "Want something to drink?"

Shoving his way off his perch he came to a standing position by Ifirit.

He'd sacrifice having fun just stay clean? The idea didn't make sense to the boy. Alex would love this one- he was always complaining about how messy Ifrit was. The Aeon rolled his eyes.

"What kinda life is that? It's...no fun to give up stuff jus' cuz you might get dirty! You can jus' wash it off later. Heck, if you wait long enough, the mud actually dries and you can shake it off without getting wet!" he explained.

He watched as the boy came over to him. What was he doing now? He stood his ground, but regarded him with slight wariness. So far, he'd been shoved into the water and had his mane accosted by the by the other so he had natural caution of the other's advances.

Waiting patiently for a few seconds for Ifirit's reply Yazoo huffed out a sigh at the wary glare he was recieving. It wasn't his fault he had been raised with manners.

"Would you like a drink?" he repeated slowly so that maybe this time the aeon would catch on.

Oh right, a drink. He recalled the other had said something about that before. He rolled his shoulders in response. "I dunno. Got any soda or chocolate milk?" he asked, tilting his head to one side.

He didn't like water- it tasted too plain and bothered his natural dislike for such things. Chocolate milk though...sweet and flavorful and far enough from water that he didn't feel as bothered. Plus, wasn't milk supposed to be healthy or something? Everyone won that way.

He still liked soda better, but Alex only gave that to him some times. It's bubbles made his nose tickles and it was sweet, even sweeter than the milk! 'it'll rot your fangs out' Alex told him. How disappointing. He'd like to have it more often. If only he knew where the Gypsy hid it...but the man was getting better as stashing things from him. With good reason too- Ifrit was good at seeking out things when he wanted them.
