Hey dancers, my name is Ann. I have been dancing for fourteen years. At first I took ballet, and then I tried other classes, but then I found irish step dancing and have been with that for six years, and I abousitly love it! Not only do I love to dance, but I love to cheer and have just made JV cheer for my highschool, and thats about it.

Hello there! I am new. I don't know why I didn't think to look for a dance guild on Gaia before today. Go figure.
My name is Laura; on Gaia I go by Lingui, or Lin, Ling, or Linguini. Whatever you prefer. biggrin
I am 20 years old (21 in Nov!), and am completing my second year at a university. I am currently a language major (emphasis: French, minor in Chinese). My name in Chinese is Lin Gui (hence my username), which means "cassia tree/flower". A cassia tree is like a cinammon tree but it's bark doesn't make as uniform quills as the cinammon trees does.
I took ballet for 13 straight years, 8 of those on pointe. Last year I took a dance workshop class (lots of different types of dance) as well as ballet at university. I had always wanted to learn other types of dance, but ballet and school (and colorguard) kept my schedule pretty full. This summer I'm hopefully going to take ballroom or bellydancing or SOME kind of dance this summer. I also want to buy poi and teach myself to fire dance (without fire, though...at least for a while). Next year I'm hoping to have the time to join the dragon dance team as well (although that's not exactly traditional dance).
Outside of dance, I love art, making glass beads (also known as lampworking), reading, and knowing obscure trivia. As well as designing websites and programming. I also enjoy learning and doing whatever I get the chance to.
I don't really have any professional goals for dance, but I do it for relaxation and enjoyment. I enjoy ALL dance and want to learn as many styles as possible. So fun!

Hello, my name is Kaitlyn!
I luv dancing, i've danced ballet for over 13 yrs. (i'm 16) and pointe for 4, as well as tap for 2 and jazz too. I'm on my school's dance team, second year, and its awesome! woohoo i like ddr too, though that is def. not dancing but its fun anyways!

Does anyone now where to buy ballet slippers on this thing

Just call me Jo, short for Josephine. The only main dance classes I've taken have been ball room dancing, containing swing, merengue, salsa, etcetera. Being from Puerto Rico, salsa comes in easily with the beat. However, I'd really love to do ballet! I did when I was little ( 3 to 4 years old then 6 to 7) but I never continued. Main reason was because my mom chose to put me in piano rather than ballet. Result turning me into a pianist with thirteen years of experience, but lacking ballet! I wish I could have had both. Now I'd like to know if there's any chance I could re-take ballet, now being 16 years old.

Other than that, I love music: playing the piano, singing, playing bass or guitar. I also like to write and learn new languages. Drawing is something else I really like to do, same as painting. Heh... i helped paint a school-bathroom once (legal tradition, permitted at my school!)... boy that was fun! Ended up with half a shoe covered in yellow paint.

Hi! I'm horseobsessed! I have been taking dance for almost ten years! I take jazz and ballet, hopefully next year I will take some tap as well. My recital is tonight. HORRAY! When I'm not dancing, I have fun horseback riding! I ride a appolusa mare named Cruella. She isn't evil. I also enjoy singing and acting, I am a member of my school's drama club and choir. Writing is another one of my hobbies and I am working on publishing a book. I think thats it, thanks for reading!
