Zayne, who had been sitting next to the girl for about an hour or so, reading, jumped when she spoke. Putting his book down haphazardl,y the young sorceror removed his reading glasses, and gave the witch a smile. It was a relief and a half to know she was alright.

"You passed out... So, Kenaz carried you here."

Aislinn shoved him back down. "No," she commanded, forcing him to stay still while she examined his wound. Osyth brought her the bag and some linen bandages and she nodded her thanks. "Hold him down," she instructed of the younger girl, who set her face and grimly pushed their unwilling patient to the ground. Aislinn, with a brutal efficiency, packed a layer of herbs and water into his wound and wrapped him with the bandages. "Come on, Osyth. Help me lift him."

Osyth and Aislinn lifted the man and, one under each of his arms, helped him to stagger down the street. "Aislinn," Osyth breathed, panting, "Do you know where the guild is?"

Aislinn shook her head. "Excuse me!" she called to a man walking by them on the street, his face set in a dissapproving expression. "Hey! Where's the Sorceror's Guild?"

"Down this street until you get to your second left," he replied grudgingly, "And down that one until you get to a big stone building on your right. You can't miss it." he hurried away, frowning.

Kenaz walked into the hospital carrying a plate of food, which he had been intending to share with Zayne. "Ah," he murmured, "She's awake, I see," he called to Zayne. "Here. I brought food for you and me. I'll go get something for her." He paused to consider. Aislinn's the healer. What would she give Kaede in this situation? "I'll bring chicken broth." He thought for a minute. "And milk." He raised his head to look at the two of them. "I'll be back momentarily," he said, already on his way out of the door.

It took Kaede a moment to remember who Zayne and Kenaz were. The confused look on her face turned to a frusterated one as she comprehended what had happened.

"I'm so sorry...i really thought my conditions had passed...i hadn't passed out in so long...its been two years actually. Thats why i thought i could start training again..." Kaede's voice trailed off. She was so disappointed. She had been very sick as an infant. Infact, it was her fault that her family was dead because in one of her fits she had burnt down her house and everyone in it. She still had nightmares about it and refused to talk about it. The only person who knew was the man who had found her and raised her, teaching her to train her powers. The episodes had become less and less until she had thought she was over them. But apparently she was wrong. She didn't really understand what caused them, but she knew that they were bad.

((i'll think of why she get them later. too tired now))

Nodding at Kenaz as he listened to Kaede, the sorceror figured he could partially undestand. Though, his childhood had been one of happyness and balance. Zayne flashed the girl a smile and shifted forwards in his seat. He was relieved to know that she was okay.

"It's good to know that you weren't dying... The doctor said he hadn't seen anything like it, and just did what he could to make you comfortable. For a while, we were worried that you might not wake up, your temperature got so hot," chattered on the man for a while. He really was one of those people who rambled on for a while and lost the entire point of why he'd started to speak in the first place. Zayne would have made a good proffessor.

Masato clenched his fists and shut his eyes from the pain these girls were giving him. The herbs stung a bit, and they weren't all that gentle with him either. "The Sorcerer's Guild?" Masato asked as the women heaved him up into a standing postion. "I've heard of that place... I can walk, you know, this isn't the first time I've slashed myself." Masato shrugged off the girls and let his arms dangle at his sides.

Why can't they just leave me alone? Masato complained to himself.

Kaede blushed at the mention of how her temperature had risen. "Thats because of my fire magic. You're lucky. When i was younger i used to burst into flame at random when i had one of my episodes." Kaede tried to joke. For when in life, when people talk about their problems, they like to break down at funny moments and talk all around the problem and the dialogue becomes more baroque. This is what Kaede was attempting to do.

She struggled to sit up in the bed. Her voice was still a little weak and she felt a little dizzy, but she hated for anyone's plans to be ruined just for her sake. "So where is everyone else?" Kaede asked, hoping to change the subject away from herself.

"...That would have been unpleasant," agreed Zayne thoguhtfully. He was imagining her bursting into flames just as his hand approached to switch over the cloth or something. See, that sorceror wasn't particularily fond of fire, at all.

He shifted comfortably in his seat, and smiled apologetically at the girl's question. After all, neither he nor Kenaz knew.

"We...Uhh... We don't know. Osyth smelt something, and ran off. Aislinn went with her, and now... Well, we simply do not know."

Deciding he would do something to cheer her up, the man's face lit up in a boyish grin, and he questioned: "What's your favourite animal?"

Kaede pondered for a moment. "I suppose a red tailed hawk...what with their brilliance and magesty...or i suppose the arctic fox. Either or really." Kaede rambled. Her foster father had always told her that she was like a fox. Too curious but a fierce fighter for her smallish size. She supposed it was ironic a bit, that she said arctic fox. Especially since she was anything but cold.

She absent-mindedly rolled a small flame over her fingers, not knoing of Zayne's dislike for fire. It was her element and therefore she loved it.

Kenaz returned, carefully carrying a bowl of soup and a glass of milk. He placed them on Kaede's bedside table. "You should probably eat those," he informed her, "I'm not much of a healer myself, but Aislinn is, and this is what she'd give someone after they had been passed out."

He sat down on the end of her bed, arranging his wings so that he wouldn't sit on them. His eyes seemed lost in thought. "I wonder where they are," he murmured.

At the moment, Osyth and Aislinn, as well as their unhappy guest, were standing outside of the Sorcerer's Guild, attempting to figure out how to open the gate. Aislinn examined it meticulously, but still couldn't see a way in. Finally, in desperation, she began banging on the metal bars.

A few minutes later, a flustered young woman came rinning up to the gate. "What?" she demanded, out of breath.

"We're here to see Zayne Shadrain! Can you let us in?"

The woman looked at them suspiciously, then grudgingly opened the gate. "He's in the hospital wing," she said over her shoulder, hurrying off with an abstracted look on her face.

"Scholars," muttered Osyth, "I hate scholars. Let's go."

Kaede gratefully took the soup and milk and began to eat. She did feel quite drained and the food was a good way to regain her strength. It felt good going down, the warmth of the soup made her relax. She hadn't realized how tense she had gotten in her worry over passing out.

"Thank you very much." Kaede smiled after a few spoonfuls. "It is just what i needed." After Kaede finished the bowl of soup and her glass of milk she relaxed back in bed.

(( i dont know if i'll be able to get online in the next week...i'm staying at a friends and her parents tend to get stingy about internet use. Just a warning))

The moment he heard Kaede's request, Zayne nodded and closed his eyes, smilnig slightly as he moved his hands in the arm. He was pulling air together, in a manner of speaking. Almsot immediately, a thing began to form in between his hands. Literally, a thing. It wasn't anything, so much as a presence of something.

In the end, Zayne was left with a little silver fox kit, that was hovering in the air momentarily, before floating into one of his hands. As it peeked over it's tail, he gave a slight smile-- thankfully, no errors. Sometimes, mistakes got gruesome-- and then handed it over to the witch. Carefully avoiding the fire and bowl of soup, of course.

"Here you go. I don't know if it's male or female, so it's up to you."

Leaning back in his chair contentedly the sorceror folded his hands on his lap, and leaned his head back. Using magic was vaguely draining, but it was always worth it. And, being generally energetic, Zayne wasn't too badly affected by the loss.

|| I feel so bad leaving you guys. I'm moving real soon, 11 days to be exact. Soon, beofre the 11th, the computer is being taken down, and packed away. Poo. I also don't get much time on it during the day, because my folks and I are running ragged around the house, claning walls, floors, doorframes, windows, vacuuming, etc. Ugh, it's tiring. And my back hurts. So hopefully I'll get a little time during the night to post. I'll probably be back on mid August, at least. I am SO sorry about this. Maybe we could find some way to knock Masato unconcious for a month. blaugh ||

Masato gazed up at the Sorcer's Guild with awe. Although his torso still hurt by Aislinn's rough manner or healing, he hardly thought of the pain as they entered the building.

"Oh Zayne! Its so cute!" Kaede sat up and smiled as the little fox cub made a little nest in the blankets over Kaede's lap. Kaede stroked the little fox's head and it licked her hand with its tiny tongue. "I think it will be a girl. I will name her...Zakuro." Kaede smiled brightly at Zayne.

"You two are so nice to me! Its been a while since i've even spoken to anyone beside my teacher, so its nice to talk to people, especially people who aren't ordering me to make my wretched potions over and over again."
Kaede rolled her eyes playfully.
