"Don't worry about the family thing, it doesn't bother me to talk about them, but my brothers a different story. He usually ends up getting drunk off his a** on the anniversary." As her head rested against his shoulder, a few stray hairs brushed against his neck, sending a chill up his spine. Just her touch sent his mind spinning, she was the best thing to ever happen to him.
He nodded as she reminded him to call her by the short name from that point on. "Hai hai, I remember. Old habits die hard I guess." He turned to the side and kissed her on the top of the head, pausing for a second and smelling the sweet smell of strawberries lingering about her long black mane.

Sachiko's head was still resting comfortably upon Ariko's shoulder, as though it were made for just that purpose. She grinned at the thought of it. Vaguely, she wondered if Ariko was older than her... As his girlfriend, she really ought to learn his birthday and assorted trivia of the like. She giggled a bit as she felt his lips brush across the top of her head. heh, no one had ever done that before. Kiss her on top of the head. It made the girl feel all tingly inside. Just then she saw a familiar couple enter the union.
"Oi, Ari-kun, there's you're friend Inoue-san. He looks so happy with Yohokiro-san, doesn't he? You think they'd want to sit with us?"

Rei led Michael over to Mom's Kitchen, and was much relieved to that neither the smell of milk nor fish assaulted his nostrils. Well, that was great news.
He began loading up a tray with two bowls of stew, rolls and looked to Michael as to choice in beverage, as he preferred coffee or tea himself.
"Ww, you're really liking this idea of getting to cook, ne? It's nice to see you excited about something.... now I'm super curious as to your culinary prowess."

He followed Reiku closely. "Yeah. I've learned to cook tons of stuff. Dad can't really cook all that well, so after Mom died, I had to cook supper or suffer take-out every night." He grinned, though there was pain behind his smile. "Anyways, this looks really good. Um, I'll take some O-cha, hot, please."

Ariko was at a loss for words while Sachiko clung to his arm. Truthfully, the butterflies in his stomach wouldn't let him make sense if he had spoken. When she noticed Reiku and Micheal come in, he nodded and smiled back to her. "Why not, it'll be like a double date."
Ariko threw his hand up in the air and waved as he called to the boys. "Reiku....Mike.....come on over and have a seat with us."

Rei nodded with a smile, poring out two cups of green tea.
"Hai, hai... welll, I hope you get the job then. I'd love to try some of your cooking. " He lifted the blazertied round his wait and removed his wallet from his pocket to retrieve his student ID. He passed it to the student clerk, giving an uncustomary smile.
"Oi, can I have an application too, onegai? Arigato," Reiku accepted the form and passed it to Michael, then collected his card and the now much heavier tray. Stepping out of line he saw and heard Ariko's greeting. He would have waved back, had his skinny arms not been using all their strength to support his tray. Instead he nodded his head toward the couple.
"It's Ari-kun and Shinoara. You mind sitting wit them, My-kun?"
"Kawaii, look at him," Sachiko giggled, covering her mouth. "He looks as though he's gonna fall over on that tray. You think maybe you should help him, or would he get upset?"

"Maybe not Sachi. I think I better leave that job to Mike, he's the jealous type." Ariko chuckled after whispering to Sachiko, remembering the tickle episode in his room yesterday. "But they're coming over, let's have a seat."
Ariko pulled a chair for Sachiko and guided her to the seat before taking the one next to her. "They do look kind of cute together.... did I just say that?"

Michael happily accepted the form. He moved to help Rei, but seeing as how Reiku was determined to be the service tonight, he let it alone.
When Reiku asked his question, Michael happily answered, "Hai! Ii yo!" He moved and pulled out a chair for Reiku and waited for him to sit down, pushing him in. He then moved to sit down himself, smiling at Ariko and his female friend. "Ariko-kun, Konichiwa." Michael grinned, removing his share of food from the tray. "Ittedakimasu!"

"Konichiwa Mike. Didn't think you'd be back so soon Reiku, look who showed up to take up the conversation you left me on." Ariko wrapped his arms around Sachiko's shoulder and pulled himself closer to her with a huge grin on his face. "You too haven't met have you Sachi? This is Micheal, I call him Mike because of that a*****e who's name is too similar. Mike this is my girlfriend Sachiko."
Ariko didn't even think when he called Sachiko his girlfriend, it rolled of his tongue as if he was saying it for months now. It didn't scare him, or confuse him. But a weird feeling engulfed his body everytime he thought of the Sachiko actually being his girlfriend. Not that the feeling was bad at all, but he had never felt that way when he thought of other girls in the past. Something was really special about Sachiko, and if it took forever for the feeling to go away, he didn't care.
"I was looking forward to Astronomy, but too bad too sad. Stupid teachers and their seminars, what damn seminar does he have to go to anyway. So, what are you guys up to for the rest of the day?"

Sachiko practically glowed as Ariko introduced her. She bowed her head once more to Michael.
"Nice to see you again, Yohokiro-san. Actually, Ari, Yohokiro-san and I share Chemistry, so we are not complete strangers, ne?"
Reiku was only too happy to practically drop the tray on the table, and gratefully sanj into the chair Michael pulled out for him. He smiled over at Ariko and Sachiko, wiggling his arms a bit.
"Ari? Sachi.... that's kinda kawaii, ne? So does that mean the two of you are officially going to the First Night Dance together? Ypu should totally sign up for Prince and Princess, ne?"
Reiku removed his own bowl of stew and sta it in front of him, sniffing at it appreciatively. Breaking a crusty roll in half he dipped it into his bowl before looking to Ariko again.
"Actually, I was planning on going with My-kun to his band class at six, just to sit and watch. Dammit, if I was thinking we should have asked him if it was all right in the hall...." Reiku's cheeks flamed a bit as he recalled his near-fit in the hallway. He shoved the bit of bread in his mouth in an effort to hisde his flusters.
"No Astronomy? Awww... Two nights in a row, too. Now there won't be class til after the frestival. "

"Yes. It's goog to see you again." He smiled at Rei's comment, but when he mentioned the dance, Mike nearly fell out of his chair. He looked at Rei, his eyes the size of dinner plates.
"Reiku! Why didn't you tell me about a dance? A DANCE? D-A-N-C-E?" Micheal stood up, looking very very grim, his bangs shadowing the eyes. He looked quite frightening.

Ariko's eye widened when he heard the words dance fall from Reiku's lips. It wasn't that he couldn't dance, he just hadn't thought about the dance since the beginning of the assembly. "Hai hai. Sachi, you wanna go, ne? Maybe we should toss our names in for prince and princess, it would be f-....."
He was cut off as Micheal leaped from his seat in a state of shock. "WHOA! Calm down Mike, it's just a dance. If you think the dance is scary, be glad you weren't there when they announced it. What's the big deal anyway, can't you dance? I'm sure Reiku can show you a few moves."

Rei didn't know what he said that was so upsetting, but he wished he hadn't said it. His choclate brown eyes were huge as he looked up at Michael's shadowed face. DId he not like dances.... not wish to go with him, maybe? Unwillingly he thought of their fiirst meeting, of Michael's adamant protest to being "that way".... He lowered his head, trying to concentrate on his stew, but suddenly not very hungry.
"Hai hai, I'd love to go to the dance!" Sachiko agreed enthusiatically. "That's a great idea Inoue-san, running for prince and princess. Teehee, you and Yohokiro-san should sign up as well... Last year was Princess and princess, why not prince and prince this yearm ne?"
She opened her eyes to look at Reiku, but found him staring sullenly into the depths of his soup bowl. She looked in confusion from Reiku to Michael, then, frowning a bit, Looked to Ariko. Did she miss something? She got the distinct impression she had.

"Come on Mike, it's not a big deal. Even if you don't dance it's still a good time. The snacks are pretty good too, they have those little waffle looking cookies that taste like vanilla. I love those things, something italian I think. Pizzarella's? Pastels? No that's art class.....uh....Pizzelles, that's it." As he felt Sachiko's glance hit him, Ariko looked over to her and with a half frown and shrugged his shoulders. "Cold feet I guess?"

After all this misplaced calming, Michael couldn't help but smile. He whipped his head around, rolling along his neck. As he did so he got down on one knee and snatched Rei's hand.
He looked up, eyes lit up like stars as he said in the most soothing and romantic voice he could muster. "Inoue Reiku-san, would you do me the great and unsurpassable honor of accompanying me to the First Night Dance and attempting to become Prince and Prince of the dance?"
His smile was indominable and unbeleavable.

Reiku's eyes grew even wider still, if that was even possible, and turned quite the unhealthy shade of red as his face suffused with blood. Thick lashes fluttered rapidly as he looked from , clasped tightly in Michael's, to Michael's brightly smiling face. That's all he could do.... blink. After a moment he nodded mutely, slowly at first but quickly picking up the pace.
"Awwwwwww," Sachiko cried, clasping her own hands beneath her chin. "Super kawaii!" She laid her head against Ariko's shoulder and was so glad Michael hadn't been shy about making such a heartfelt declaration in front of them. He really must be in love. It was so sweet to witness.
