We don't have a title yet but we're playing Patapan, Bolero, and Little Drummer Boy. We thought that it was weird marching to concert music but we think it will sound good.

Anime. mad
It goes:
A song from Inuysha A song from Cowboy Bebop A song from Pokemon
I'm excited for the pokemon song, because it's really pretty, and it starts and ends with big long flute solos, which will be me. So I get to close the show with a solo this year smile . I know it will be fun to close the show because two years ago I got to open the show with a flute solo (it was really cool, because the only people playing were me and one set of quads, and it sounded so cool, it was our pirates of the caribbean show). I'm going into my fourth year of marching band, and it's my third time having a major major solo (last year we played Baby Elephant Walk, and the whole thing was a piccolo solo, which i played).
So i'm not really excited about the Cowboy Bebop song, because it's jazz (obviously, seeing as how it's from cowboy bebop) and our whole show last year was pretty much jazz, and it sucks marching jazz. Plus jazz doesn't fit with the mood of the other two pieces.

The marching band is going to be playing Paul Simon music. (I don't really know who Paul Simon is, so I don't know if it's "broadway" music or actual marching music.)
In the opener, the flutes get an awesome solo! I'm excited because I'll be playing the piccolo for that part!

This year, our band is doing...a latin theme!!! It's pretty cool, really. We have two songs from the diamond series...yes, just two. Our band is rising from the suckiness of our school! But our songs are real hardcore, and I still need to finish memorizing them...uh oh. I'm gonna be in such trouble!! We're playing Conquistador, Oye Como Va, Jump in the Line(Shake Senora), and Malaguena. I can just see it now...

We're doing...*dun dun duuuun!* Billy Joel, under the theme "American Summer". If The Mad Irishman actually moves on from fundamentals we'll be doing stuff with beach balls, towels, and stuff like that...and our Magician-In-Resident, JP the alto sax, will do a little boy-meets-girl thing while we march.
Opener: Angry Young Man 2nd Movement: Scenes from an Italian Restaurant Closer: No idea yet

We don't really have a theme...I don't think. :3 But anyways, we're playing "On Broadway" (my favorite song out of the mix. ^_^), "Takin' it to the Streets", "These Boots are Made for Walkin'", "Back in Black", and there's one more...which I'll post tomorrow or when I remember what it is. xD

Paul Simon's a musician...(duh sweatdrop ) With a guy named Art Garfunkel (hence the band name Simon & Garfunkel), he wrote such songs as Scarborough Fair, Feelin' Groovy, Bridge over Troubled Water, Sounds of Silence, I Am a Rock, etc.... Amazing how I didn't know who Billy Joel was but I know who Paul Simon was. rofl redface
