If I had a dress like that I probably wouldn't wear it out unless it was a convention or the first day I got it and my friends and I wanted to take pictures at the park.

maybe I'm not into it as much as everyone else here, but as cute as I think it is, it'd be kinda werid if someone wore lolita to do normal things like going to school or to the movies XP. (and yes, I would probably stare! or if I had a camera, I'd ask for a picture... but no I wouldn't point and laugh... or something XP)

oooh and plus, I'm not cute... if I had a little sister, I'd probably be evil and pay her to like walk around in clothes that I want to walk around in... XP eww... that sounds kinda wrong...

mychasi gets double-takes and sometimes they say they like mychasi's outfit. But we've never been insulted...hmm...but mychasi is an aspiring sweet lolita. Maybe that's a part of it?

I wore a Goth Loli outfit to Otakon in Baltimore. I got quite a few compliments from other Lolis, but not much feedback from everyone else.
However, just as I was going to meet my mom to head back to the hotel room, a guy on the street struck up a conversation with me about my outfit. I didn't find out until I got back to the room that he was actually trying to steal stuff from the plastic bag that the convention had supplied to me (he failed miserably, by the way - all my money and valuables were in my teddy bear backpack).
Apparently, he thought that the elegant-looking plus-size girl strolling down the sidewalk with a lace parasol was loaded. He had no idea how wrong he was. sweatdrop

That is a very funny story! xd He must have thought that you were a rich victorian woman from England or something. People can be so ignorant. I hope he didn't manage to steal anything.

No, he didn't. Nothing important, at least. All I had in the plastic bag were the convention programs and a bottle of green tea-flavored water.
The scary part is that the only way I could tell that he'd even gotten his hand into my bag was that he dropped his lighter.

It honestly doesn't bother me when people stare or look.

Eyes naturally drift to the person in the crowd who is dressed differently. I do it too, I'm sure you all do as well, whether or not you like it.

It's rude if your eyes STAY there though....it really annoys me when people will actually turn around so they can keep staring at me as I walk by...

I get a lot of comments though, and a lot are actually positive so... eh.

I don't have many lolita items, i have some black and white stockings that I would wear over tights and some cute skirts and a nice pair of mary janes that I wore a lot with a sort of victorianish shirt I have when my hair was long-ish. Ever since I got it cut though, I'm not so excited about going out wearing them.

One time though, I went out to take some pictures of the park in that outfit with my friend. A few girls from the high school nearby asked me wear I got my skirt and shoes, but some other people looked at me kind of funny, but I got some really nice pictures of the river and that's all that matters

Nobody around here really cares. Around here, meaning the school campus. lol. I may have been here over a month, but I still haven't ventured out into the big city! I hardly ever leave campus. I'm such a poor excuse for a 'free highschool student'.

Anway.

Students and teachers here think lolita is cute and usually want to know more about it. No one else dresses like I do, but there are a few that try.

My former roommate tried to tell everyone that Americanized lolita was true lolita, and it took me forever to get the guts to tell everyone that she was wrong. That micro mini skirts with some lace on them and fishnet stockings was NOT lolita. Yuck.

Where I used to live, I had one old lady ask me if I was getting ready for halloween, but that was the only time I had anything said to me. Even at my old school no one said anything. They stared, but I didn't care.

Most people ask why I'm dressed up...but I've had a few compliments. Otherwise, they just stare.
