Character: Amarith Current Square: 24 to another part of 24 Response: Yup, crying was looking like a very real possibility. "I liked these pants." She whispered as she shifted her pack to try and get into a better position to pull her leg free. If she didn't get her leg out soon, she was surely going to be stuck! With a gasp of relief she got free and scrambled to safety, nearly whimpering with fear and shaking. That tore it! This forest was boobytrapped! What kind of sadistic monster would do such a thing?!

Character: Oiche Current Square: Still in 23 Response: Oíche didn’t like falling into doubts but it was obvious that their expedition leader had cause to be worried. There was something or some one in this forest and it was becoming more and more obvious that something had happened to them. She hadn’t found any clues to support this theory or what exactly had befallen the previous expedition but just knowing if they had come this way all the things that could have befallen them.
“Ever think this is starting to be hopeless and they’re dead or we’ll end up needing rescuing ourselves? Then again that’s not really conducive thinking especially when you go out to rescue people isn’t it” She lightly spoke.
Her energy loss caught up with her again and she had to take a moment to sit down, the perfect moment to be watching mr.fen as when he started paying around with the leaves she caught sight of something. Walking over and grabbing it, it seemed to be a journal. Flipping it open she realized it was from the previous expedition. So they had come here? However it was hard to know with a good chunk of the pages missing. “There isn’t enough information to figure out where they went but the two feathers are important. You don’t put something in your journal if it isn’t important.”

Character: Cian Current Square: 13 to 12 Response: The near mishap with the dried riverbed had Cian less than pleased as he continued on. The scent of the baphomet and clear recent tracks were easy enough to follow at least, something he could be grateful for.
No, it wasn't the worst situation he'd ever found himself in. Far from it. It was more the... embarrassment level, if he were to be honest with himself. He knew the signs to watch out for in the wilderness. The warning signs that meant to stay very far away. But did he listen? No.
He was somewhat grateful he hadn't brought his more recent charge along. That would have been a bite to his pride he didn't need right about then.
Ears back and a deep scowl set on his face, he didn't for a moment miss when the trees began to rustle. He stopped, tipping his head back and crouching slightly as his ears twitched and flicked, narrowing in on the source. Leaves began to flutter down around him, and the hunter had a wistful hope for a fight on his hands.
The screech of birds--shrieking, numerous birds--had him let out a shout, hands pressed to his sensitive ears as he snarled up towards the shuttering canopy. Frightened birds--of what? He got that answer shortly, watching as a large bird landed heavily on a branch somewhat before him. It was certainly massive compared to the feathered bodies he'd just watched flee. Green-grey eyes stared back at him, a hunter's keen gaze that Cian recognized easily. But Cian was hardly a rabbit or small bird for its consumption. He straightened from his crouch slowly, and offered it a small smile, an incline of its head. "May your hunting prove satisfying," he bid it in simple farewell. He had his own relative hunt to continue, as it were.
He trudged on, though noting the scent was beginning to fade and the tracks no longer were visible in the direction he wandered. His brow furrowed. When had he lost the trail? The Hallowed Grimm looked towards his markings on the trees, each showing his clear path. In doing so though, he noted with a bit of intrigue that the large bird had traveled to another branch.
Following him.
He said nothing at first, merely lifted a scarred brow before continuing back to his work. It might be worth his effort to keep going, he admitted after a moment. See what was up ahead, and if he found nothing continuing along the deer path--or the avenue of it he'd ventured along--then he could double-back to try and find the other person from the expedition he'd been trailing. With each few steps he could hear the large bird fluttering its wings behind him. Ever following.
"If you wish to accompany me, you may," he called to it.
Such permission was apparently all it waited for, as the large bird glided from the branches down to perch atop the large skull adorning his right shoulder. Killing claws curled carefully, yet firmly to secure itself, into the empty eye sockets. Its settled weight caught the hunter off-guard, and he glared at it slightly, but adjusted himself and kept walking.

Character: Troy Current Square: 23 to 22 Response: "First aid sounds great. Let's not get an infection while trying to survive this deathtrap of a forest. Thank you." Troy really was grateful, even more so that neither of them lost a limb or broke something by this point. Oiche seemed exhausted and, frankly, he didn't feel much better, so he sat down as well with a heavy sigh. "I'm starting to wonder....but if we managed to stumble our way out of those traps then perhaps they managed to as well."
Troy was honestly starting to think that this might be more trouble than it was worth; he felt like he was back in boot camp going through his field training exercise....except this wasn't at night and no one was firing blank rounds over their heads while the sounds of battle were blasting over speakers to simulate being in a battlefield situation. He was lost in thought for a moment until he sas Oiche reach for something, shocked to see the journal that she had retrieved from the detritus. "You're right....I wonder why the pages are ripped out?" He glanced off in a direction as the wheels in his heaf wete spinning in thought. "I wonder....maybe they left the pages like a trail to follow...."

Character: Amarith Current Square: 24 to 23 Response: Finding a somewhat safe place to unclip her bag from her back, Amarith did her best to clean out the wounds and bandage her leg, glad she'd brought a first aid kit and packed it near the top so it hadn't gotten soaked by the water she'd fallen into earlier, unlike most of her spare clothes. Having done the best she could at the moment and trying not to think about tetanus, put her bag back on and prayed that she wouldn't end up running into any other traps. Horrid, absolutely horrid, all of it! She swallowed a sob and moved on.

Character: Oiche Current Square: 23 to 22 Response: She reached into her bag and grabbed the the first aid kit. He was right. Getting an infection wouldn’t do them any favors. She could help patch him up, she had st least that skill down pretty well but he did have the training so maybe he would be better at it. She didn’t want to step on toes, she was the one you went to for research advice or paranormal stuff. She helped out when she could or was needed. Mr. fen watching all the time... okay she really had to give him a better name than mr. fen. Boy was she done... especially if she was rambling in her own head
Well i’ll Rip out pages if I don’t like what is written but it doesn’t sound like that is the case here. It’s not that kind of book and to only have pages written about coming here. No something else is going on.” She looked back to where the trees picked up again. There was something out there and still a mystery around them. Two feathers and a mostly ripped out notebook. To find answers they would have to keep exploring. To make sure the people they had come with where safe too. It was a prospect she didn’t want to do but life didn’t always given you what you want. “ I guess that means venturing further into the forest again, doesn’t it” she sighed. No ghosts, no one had mutinied and returned to above and below and people where still missing. Next time she wanted an adventure she’d just go to the mall. Much safer most times.

Prompt for Square 12 The ground here is oddly clear, with the dirt clearly stamped down from use. There are hoof prints on the track, and piece of paper. It seems to have a sketched out terrain, beautifully detailed with ravines and trees, but it is incomplete. A scrawled line has been swiped across the page.
You have found a Clue!
Prompt for Square 14 A crack splits the quiet forest air. A low groan sounds from behind you as a tall fir tree tips from its roots. The tree falls towards you, and before you can get out of the way, it lands on top of you with a crash, pinning you beneath its branches.
Roll 1d6 to escape. On a roll of 5+ you succeed, and may move again.
You may roll 3 times to attempt to escape this square. Each attempt must be accompanied by at least 50 words of RP. If you do not escape by the end of the day, something may happen...
Prompt for Square 22 The foliage is getting thicker. You can hardly take more than a few steps through the trees before having to disentangle yourself. Suddenly, you hear a metallic snap and the crude jaws of a trap bite into your leg.
Roll 1d100 to escape. On a roll of 100 you succeed, and may move again.
You may roll 3 times to attempt to escape this square. Each attempt must be accompanied by at least 50 words of RP. If you do not escape by the end of the day, something may happen...
Prompt for Square 23 You've travelled through treacherous terrain to find Dr. Horn, but it seems pointless. You look to the ground, forlorn, and see something strange amongst the dying leaves: a dry patch where something conveniently book-shaped once lie. It even looks to be book-sized! Whatever it was, it's gone now though...

Character: Amarith Current Square: 23 to 22 Response: Finally a place she could sit and rest and for a few minutes she did so, unclipping her bag again and rearranging the items inside, squeezing out what she could and then repacking it carefully to keep everything dry from getting wet before she looked around for a stick she could use to help support her weight. Her leg was throbbing so much.... Finally she found a usable stick and after thwacking it against a tree a few times to make sure it was sturdy, she began hobbling forward, whimpering now and then. She had expected some chance of danger, but this was far beyond what she could have prepared for. Traps! Why were there traps?! This was supposed to be a forest, not an action movie! Who even did things like this?! Horrible, awful people! Amarith wiped at her eyes, angry, scared and frustrated.

] Character: Troy Current Square: 22 (escape attempt 1) Response: "Sadly yes....if this is the last breadcrumb in the trail, so to speak, then we might be getting closer....or at least have an idea of the direction, which I'm guessing might be west." He spoke as he used the first aid kit to put his leg in a better, cleaner wrap and handed it back to Oiche before he stood slowly. "Either way, we can't stay here forever. We're better moving forward." He gave an unenthusiastic look to Oiche, clearly not thrilled himself to continue but knowing it was the best option if this forest was a dangerous as it was looking.
Troy would come to regret this decision. They could have turned back and somehow circumvented the traps they had come across....but no. Stumbling through the overgrowth, his uninjured leg suddenly was wracked with pain as something metal and sharp clamped tightly onto it and dug in hard. "GAH! ********> It was the first time he had raised his voice this entire venture and boy did he; very loudly, a string of other expletives echoed through the canopy as he grabbed the crude trap and tried to push it off in sheer instinct. Obviously that wasn't going to work.

Character: Troy Current Square: 22 (escape attempt 2) Response: Pain was blinding the rational part of his brain....but then again, all things considered, it was building up to this point in frustration alone. Taking quick, deep breaths he tried to focus and grabbed the trap to try and pry it off....but his fingers slipped and he cut them a bit on the teeth. That induced more angry cursing as frustration, pain and worry were starting to rise.

Character: Troy Current Square: 22 (escape attempt 3) (stuck) Response: Ok....TRY to get a grip and do this right. He grabbed the trap's maw again, avoiding the teeth as he glared down at it. "You will get the ******** off of me..." He grunted fiercely as he tried again to pull the trap apart. "We will get the ******** out of this forest of death..." Another try, even harder. "And then burn it to the ******** GROUND!!" One last pull....but it didn't work; it slipped out of his hands and snapped back onto his leg, causing more pain. He let out an angry, hurt sound before he stumbled back onto his rear and just....sat there, breathing heavily from the effort. He looked over at Oiche and saw only her wings curled around her like a protective shield, hearing the concerned sounds of the fennekit that had followed her....and in stereo, the one that had followed him was now sitting beside him and whimpering. He opened his arms and the fennekit climbed into his lap, Troy holding it close and petting it as he looked up to the sky. Oiche had sent up a flare....now all they could do is hope. The least he could do was write a note for them if something happened.
Quote: Clare and others, We're not alone out here. The forest is trapped to Hell and back. Someone doesn't want us here. Get help and be careful.

Character: Oiche Current Square: 22 (escape attempt1) Response: It had been a mistake to go back to the forest but she supposed that’s what people did when they wanted to be helpful. When the trap sprung, it luckily only caught her boot, and her boot was thick enough to keep her from any pain but she was caught. She could try phasing out like she had with the puddles but Troy was caught too and no matter what happened if they were going to die then she wouldn’t allow him to die alone. Besides her dad was a medium and she’d visit him as much as she could when she passed. It was end of line.

She hadn’t seen any supernatural things so some one had to check the traps even if this one looked rusted. She’d save what she had for later when she might be able to give this whole ******** shitty adventure another attempt at escaping. Mr. fen crawled into her lap and she comfortly pet him and continued forming a plan.

Character: Oiche Current Square: 22 (escape attempt3) Response: Hmm hadn’t there been something about a flare at the beginning. She wasn’t sure if the plain group or the wildflower group would be able to see it but she was going to warn them when it was obivious her group wasn’t coming back later. They would go in prepared knowing this was a crappy a** place with danger. So she used her magic to mimic a flare shooting through the canopy. Now she just had to work on staying angry as ********. Whoever was out there was in for a surprise when she died. She’d come back and haunt their fudge monkey asses as a poltergeist. She almost hoped they didn’t believe in ghosts so it would be more fun. “We did out best mr. fen. We did our best” and with that she hugged mr. fen closer drawing into herself as much as she could and using her wings to cover her. She almost felt like crying but she wouldnt give any non very lady like word that satisfaction. “What a sucky day”

END OF DAY THREE If you have been quoted the same prompt, it is because you have not moved since the last update! This does not mean you can claim a familiar or trinket a second time.

Prompt for Square 13 There is a sudden rustle in the trees above you. The canopy bursts with shrieking birds, rushing into the distance with great speed. Something heavy lands on a branch above you - a giant bird, with a long, lush tail.
