Afton Gracey "I dunno. I'm starting to think that maybe I should just close my eyes before giving 'em a go." He did so for emphasis before giving one ring a toss, opening one eye afterwards to see whether or not it had made a difference. It hadn't, confirming that chance had little to do with it and his skill points had not been added to luck for any sort of bonus. "We might just be riding on your skill here, Hart. Think you can handle the pressure? If not, I think I've got a couple more dollars..." He could give it one more go himself, but if the last two attempts were any proof of anything at all it was that he really wasn't good at ring toss outside of arcade games. Hartley Deere
"How am I better at this than you are?" He laughed softly as he watched Afton, nudging his friends arm with his as only a couple of the rings hit. "You're the one that has better hand eye coordination than me, that's why you're better at games than I am." He picked up his own collection of rings, not sure how well he was going to be able to do. "Think maybe it's beginners luck?" He raised a brow as he looked at the hooks and the rings in his hand.
Maybe if he could get lucky enough they could both get a prize but he wasn't quite sure how he was going to manage that. He didn't want to get something himself without being able to get Afton something too but he wasn't sure how well he'd due.
He bit his lip slightly before carefully throwing his rings. Somehow he managed to land three of them before running out of rings. "Hey!" He smiled brightly. "Maybe it's you rubbing off on me? Or I somehow stole your luck."

Afton Gracey
"Well, between the two of us we've got.... Ten rings." The simple statement was made after he counted everything off once he'd thrown his last five. He draped an arm over Hartley's shoulder under the guise of warmth and peering over the prize list. In the end the two of them walked away with a reindeer, a snowman, a deer headband (for Hart, of course) and a jingle bell bracelet for himself.
"C'mon. I heard they've got warm drinks around here too-- Let's grab one and see what happens next."

Charice Hadley (1/5, 1 win)
Arisha was fifteen now, but despite all her attempts at getting her sister to see otherwise, Charice still treated her like a small child, if not a baby. She was the baby of the family in a sense of speaking- the youngest of four- but most of her family acknowledged she was growing up, and wanted to be treated like an adult.
Most, with the exception of Charice. The oldest sibling, but also the most immature, Arisha was constantly picked on by her big sis, who also had no concept of privacy, having once found some of the poems Arisha had been working on and reading them out loud. Perhaps, then, it was no surprise that Charice, upon spotting a booth advertising a ring toss with a giant snowman plush as one of the prizes, had promptly dragged her younger sister over, handing the attendant a dollar in exchange for five of the tinsel rings.
"Look, Ari! You'd love that big snowman, wouldn't you?" Charice asked, completely oblivious to the fact that Arisha had been insisting she didn't collect plush animals anymore for some time. Without waiting for a response, she began tossing the little tinsel wreaths, though only one found its target.
"We don't have to do this, Char..." Arisha protested weakly, but her pleas fell on deaf ears as Charice immediately (and gladly) handed over another dollar to the girl running the booth.

Charice Hadley 2/5 (3 wins)
Arisha wished sometimes that her older sister would be more aware of other's people's feelings before doing things, but Charice was Charice, in the end. Still lost to her daydreams, the older girl received another set of five of the tinsel wreaths, still thinking about how she would win the giant snowman plush for her baby sister who in reality, was no longer a baby. It didn’t matter how much Arisha tried to protest or lead her away from the booth, Charice was oblivious to it all as she aimed her throws once more.
Two more ‘rings’ made their way around the plastic snowmen, making for a total of three wins so far. Close, but not enough. Once more, Charice eagerly handed over another dollar.

Charice Hadley 3/5 (4 wins)
Third time's a charm, right? Or that was how the saying went, if Charice remembered right… which honestly she wasn’t sure, because her thoughts usually were about flowers and her garden. Arisha had given up on attempting to reason otherwise at this point, as there was no use in snapping Charice out of it once she was lost to the world like this. Once more, Charice aimed her throws, but only succeeded in one hitting its mark.
Well, four out of five? All she needed was one more try, right? Before Arisha could say anything (not that she was planning to, seeing as she had given up on it), Charice once more gave the girl running the booth another dollar for another try.

Charice Hadley 4/5 (5 wins)
As predicted, or maybe not as predicted, all she really did need was one more try. Proud of her win, Charice immediately requested the giant snowman plush, handing it over to a very embarrassed Arisha, who would likely end up convincing her big sis to take it back later.
The girl running the booth informed Charice that if she wanted, she could try one last time for anything extra, and happily and predictably, Charice paid out one last dollar.

Charice Hadley 5/5 (6 wins)
Once again, Charice only managed to get one of the 'rings' onto the snowmen, but it didn't matter at this point. She had managed to get the snowman plush for her sister, and Arisha surely was delighted about it, even if it didn't show! Humming a cheery tune, she thanked the booth attendant, before heading off for other attractions without any warning, leaving a confused Arisha behind.
Not wanting to lose sight of her sister, Arisha meekly requested one of the jingle bell bracelets, before dashing off to catch up to Charice.

Zachary Esther (1/5)
With the poinsettia ruined by a stranger with a loose tongue, Zachary was in a pinch to have something nice and festive for when Vanessa made it to the fair. He watched the ring toss from the periphery for a few minutes, assessing the game with a pensive frown, and when he thought he had it figured out, he waited in silence for a lane to open up, putting his money on the kiosk without much in the way of fanfare. With a stammer of a greeting, he picked up the rings, focused on the targets so he wouldn't have to make eye contact.
One...two...not bad, so far, but two little prizes weren't going to impress someone like Van.

Zachary Esther (2/5)
Zachary pushed his glasses up the bridge of his nose and rolled up his sleeves. If he wanted to win that big prize at the top of the booth, he was going to have to get serious. Vanessa had volcano superpowers and could wield incredible strength and fight youma, what did he have to offer? A broken poinsettia? Free drinks after hours?
His game was weak. He needed to do something impressive. Five more throws, two more hits. The attendant clapped for him politely, but of course she did--it was her job.
One more and the grand prize was his. He threw another dollar down.

Zachary Esther (3/5)
Zachary felt like he was starting to get the hang of the whole ring toss thing. There was a certain strategy to throwing them, underhanded with a little lilt pointing directly at the top hat of the snowman. It netted him another win, making him eligible for the prize he wanted, but that wasn't enough. Zachary was in the zone now, and he wanted to see how well he could actually do.
Or rather, he was in the zone until his cell phone went off, causing him to throw wide. Thinking it was Van, he fumbled to read the text, only to realize it was one of his coworkers asking for him to cover a shift at the bar. Zachary left it on read, but the interruption was more than enough to throw off his groove. He couldn't seem to net any more rings.

Zachary Esther (4/5)
Zachary rolled his shoulders and settled his breathing, trying to get back into the zone, but his phone went off again--this time, it was a call. Zach tossed a ring aside to free up his hands, and with a growl he answered it.
"What, Dan?"
"Really? You ghosting me now? What, did I piss in your cornflakes this morning?"
"I have--" Zachary frowned, throwing another ring wide--"I'm meeting up with Vanessa tonight, man. We talked about this."
"OooooOOOooooh, like a date? You gonna hold her hand or something?"
"Shut up," Zach seethed, ending the call as he threw the last of his rings. This one, at least, hit the mark.

Zachary Esther (5/5)
Now that he'd gone four rounds, it felt like a matter of principle that Zachary lay down a dollar for one more game, just to max out his chances. Still, the brief phone call with Dan had him rattled, and he couldn't ever get back into the easy swing of his arm that had earned him the earlier wins.
Still, he'd gotten what he was looking for--and with a polite nod he requested one of the overlarge snowman plushes as a symbol of his success to offer Vanessa--and a matching top hat with his extra win, because top hats were dapper.

Nolan Round 1 (1/5)
Nolan had only gone to the carnival to check it out, but somehow the wreath-tossing booth had caught his attention. At least it was more interesting than the silly maze which just had ice sculptures in it or some tea thing. He had hoped that there would be a bit more to all of it than what he had seen, but apparently enough people were entertained by what little was here that it was quite crowded. Nolan didn't understand it.
But he was willing to play for some silly prizes that he could probably just give to one of his fellow classmates at school. Someone would take it.
For the first wreath, he lightly tossed it, not having any particular ring that he wanted it to go on, and somehow it had made it onto one of them. For the first prize he chose the headband.
