Shahar (outfit) - Moving from Entertainment Room towards the Dining Room
She peered at the table, bright eyes taking in the firm, solid wood, and the hardly-marked topping- someone had upgraded recently, or they simply never used the thing. Well, that was just screaming for some fixing. Shshar's lips quirked in glee, and she spun to take in the room, seeing if there was anyone she knew present. Hmmm. Not in this room, anyways- perhaps in another? She spun, and had hardly made it a step when there was a kerfluffle, and wine was wasted.
Well, that was a shame, was it not? People were being ushered away from the spot, and there was an irritated-looking hostess and three maids, and... well. Shahar could either hit on the hostess, or follow the wine and look for someone who was probably more inclined to be interested in a little adventure later. Clucking her tongue, Shahar finally decided to follow the waiter out of the room, and make her way to another one.
Besides, it looked like there were other people in line to examine that pool table, didn't it? She did wish them the very best. "So," she said conversationally to the waiter (Patrick), "Are you bleeding? I can help bandage you for a moment if you need, I get a lot of scrapes." Between trying to get her footing in the amateur circuit, and her new internship at the museum, and her night-time... fun... "I would be happy to assist." Her accent was not particularly thick, the woman making an effort to sound crisp and clear. "Otherwise, I'll be in the dining room next, if you change your mind.

Jada (outfit)- Foyer, going into the Entertainment Room
Hackles raised, but one unkind smile did not receive another, and Jada only shrugged. "Different standards of lovely," she told her hostess lightly, and kept her chin high. Judgment was something she wasn't... accustomed to actively facing, as Jada Chamberlyn, but she'd nothing to be ashamed of. And it never hurt to spill a little extra sugar to soothe someone opening their home to the public. "I'm terribly sorry if I've done something to offend you. I'd be delighted to talk it out with you, when you're less busy."
She didn't push the conversation further, instead stepping off so the next person in line could be greeted and attended to. Instead, she began to make her way towards the next room, keeping an eye out for anyone who might strike a spark of recognition. Her eyes caught on the spill and the maids, and the strain across the face of their other hostess, and instead of approaching Rose Red Krystal Rose and risking the same chilly reception she had received previously, Jada moved around the entertainment room, looking to see if there were any books laying around, or an accessible bookshelf- the pair had struck her with a Snow White and Rose Red fairy tale vibe, and she was interested to see what their literary taste was.
Really. Ebony, all in white, with that pale gold-blonde look, and Krystal, with her black hair and black dress... It was a bit of irony, right there... and named Rose. She loved it, frankly, that small hint of dichotomy. It still made her think of a fairy tale.
Just as she was sure she'd seen Sitara, Mercy blinked when another familiar face wandered into the room. She hadn't seen Jada in, well, awhile! But, she recognized the woman - it was hard not to! She placed a hand lightly on Nick's arm. "Hey, just saw another friend, wait here a sec!"
She slipped away from him and approached the other woman, sliding in beside her and giving a small nod and clearing her throat.
"Hey, long time no see!" She said, keeping her hands fidgeting tightly on her clutch. "Seems like this place got real popular real fast. Been here long?"
She shot a quick glance at Nick to make sure he hadn't moved or gotten lost, not wanting to be completely separated from him if she could help it.

The wine is fruity and aromatic. Not too expensive but certainly not cheap. The man mentions briefly that if you have questions, he is a sommelier and happy to answer them.

The maid is fussing over the wine spill, frantically trying to oxyclean it out before it stains. Her skirt is maybe just a bit too short and offers a tantalizing view of the tops of her stockings and garters. How very cliche.

The woman looked at him with mild disgust. "And I am supposed to what? Wait for you to supposedly pay back that which you didn't break? He should have looked where he was going, though why you were on the ground I haven't a clue." She snorted and tossed her hair back. "Go wash up and try to enjoy the rest of the night. I know I certainly will."

Had she heard, Krystal would have given the woman a withering glare. As she didn't the hostess was left to brood elsewhere. Penny would find that currently at the gambling table there were two games to be played. Blackjack, and Tarot- though the man dealing the tarot cards seemed to be doing more flirting than actual reading.

Shahar
Patrick yelped at her approach, and proceeded to stumble over half his words. All that could be really made out was that he was fine, and to excuse him- right before he rushed to the bathroom.

Jada
"It was never about you." Ebony remarked. "It was more your mother and her... meddling. Just know this- you are lucky she died before she could marry you off."
She would find a bookshelf, an assortment of books to be seen.
Setting her wine glass on the table, Penny leaned forward toward the man working the table. "This won't be much of a party if they don't bring the wine back," she said, eying every waiter more concerned about the wine on the rug than the wine in her stomach. If the party suddenly went dry, it would be a long night indeed.
Pale eyes flicked from the playing cards to the tarot cards. Seeing as though she was actually magical, the mystical hobbies of others amused her more than perhaps it had before. It was probably with that in mind that she drew two cards at random from the tarot deck and flipped it face up on the table saying, "This card represents how my night is going to turn out." Then for the second: "And this is the reason my godawful coworker has not yet arrived." Her eyes dropped to see what had appeared, for her own amusement.

Omorose Khan in the entertainment room
Omorose grinned at the picture and then sent it to Penelope because why not. Their fearless leader should see the girls trying to be fearless girls at a party.
And by fearless, Omorose, after picture was done, detached herself long enough from Izzy to snag two flutes of champagne looking stuff from a moving waiter and smiled.
"Here we go. We can blend and be able to act like adults too." She sipped at it, the tingly feeling of bubbles was overriding the particular bitter fruit taste. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't great.
"So.What would like to do next Izzy?" She smiled at her date, "Dance? Explore? Cause mischief?"
The rain is heavy now, and the low, distant rumblings of thunder can be heard.

Sitara Brennan is in the Washroom
Sita did not approve of the bad behavior being rewarded, but in the end it was only right to have the bill settled. Even if the woman was less than pleasant.
"The behavior of our hostess leave much to be desired. Though she certainly was on top of things when the rug of no consequence came into play." She could not help but feel that there was more to things than they knew.
When the thunder clapped outside, sita jumped. She shaking slightly and looking to Charles. "What are you going to do? You can't walk around shirtless." She leaned against the wall. So far this night was not going the way she thought it would.
"I can see if maybe.." no, she couldn't go up to mercy and bother her date for his jacket. That would be so wrong.
"A wonder he gets taken out, and yet here you are," she said to Penrose, dripping with sarcasm. While Blythe would hardly scold anyone for attending an event, one couldn't help but wonder if there wasn't an ulterior motive when it came to these two. Maybe not something of a violent nature--she doubted even Dmitri would be so crude and inarticulate--but now that they knew there were women just a flight of stairs away, all by themselves...Well. Blythe knew what the world was capable of, without the smoke and mirrors of costumes and capers.
(Granted, she still had her cat half-mask on, but still. That was part of the uniform, Halloween regulated, rather than something choice and personal.)
She snaked her arms around both of theirs and pulled them away from the staircase, a small, silver needle in a black piece between two colorful gentleman. What an envious position. "An historic estate is open for public viewing," she replied. "Why wouldn't I visit? The more interesting question is what you two are doing amongst the civilized."
It looked like he had gotten inside a little bit late to the party, which was fine by Brendan's standards as being later meant the thing was in full swing by the time he got there. What wasn't so great was getting a downpour on him the last minute's walk over. He knew he should have packed an umbrella. Now instead of looking like a dapper 1920's mobster, he looked like a washed up hobo.
"S'what I get, I guess," Brendan muttered to himself as he tried to squeeze some water out of his clothes. At least the flower pinned to his suit looked okay. Did mobsters wear flowers? Whatever, it made him look fancy. Or...in hindsight, he probably looked more like a lost prom date. Wouldn't that be a fun story: Yeah, I come around every Halloween looking from my prom date, she got run over by our limousine and haunts the place looking for her date.
He kept himself on the edge of the party for now, mostly trying to dry out before he went and bothered strangers. A text was even sent Jack's way with a photo of his smiling, soggy self, just in case he did need a friendly face: All washed up here / Check this party out, be my date? wink
Nearby was an odd looking door, which he couldn't help but look at as he did. Brendan approached the basement door and frowned as he looked it over. It looked so out of place compared to the clean, glittering foyer.

Maggie Lawrence is in the foyer, near the basement door.
Bright eyes lifted belatedly to the doorway at the newest crop of entrances, the rain beating against the window. She wrinkled her nose briefly -- getting home would be annoying, if this kept up -- when she saw him. He was muscular and redheaded, far more of a man than she expected another high schooler to set her up with but BLESS she was pleased. Smoothing a curl back, she adjusted one of the flowers in her hair, swept her gossamer blue and gold-lined train behind her and took a breath. This was her moment. A moment like this. Some people wait a lifetime. For that one special... Kelly Clarkson was strong and beautiful, just like Maggie considered herself.
Come on, girl, this is the story you will tell your children.
She had to double-take twice as he moved across the foyer toward the basement door, but -- there it was! Baby's breath on his lapel. Maggie artfully stuffed her phone back in her bra, lifted her chin and crossed the room towards him. With a subtle inhale of air, she placed her hand on his forearm in a way she thought beguiling and said, voice a little husky (she was forcing it), "I believe you may be looking for me."
The teen tilted her head to the side, relaxed her eyes, and attempted to look the picture of enchanting vixen to moderate success.
She caressed her hands over the spines of the books, looking for a title that might give her a clue as to what might impress their hosts. You are lucky she died before she could marry you off. Szelem Montgomery-Chamberlyn had cast a shadow over many lives, it seemed, and Jada had to fight the urge to rub her temples about it. A voice, familiar, pulled Jada's attention from the bookshelves, and she blinked at Sabine- no, not Sabine.
"Mercy," she greeted the other woman, and her hand reached out to offer a shake. "Fancy meeting you here." her smile was genuine, a feeling not unlike excitement filling her belly. "I just got here," she started, when the rumble of thunder in the distance got her attention, and her brow furrowed. "What about you?" Purple eyes glanced to the rug, considering the other hostess. "Have you spoken to the other hostess? Are you here alone?"
As the weather picked up, he frowned taking a look out the window again as the storm seemed to worsen, seeing if they might need to move away from the window for safety's sake.
"I am not liking the look of this storm," He said dryly to his wife, giving his head a slow shake as he let out a sigh. "I hope Fergus doesn't get too worked up - I would really like to not have to replace another couch."
Or another mattress for that matter. Or a door. ---
Mercy Haynes is in the Entertainment room.
Mercy smiled and took the offered hand, bowing her head politely to the older woman. She'd of curtsied, but it seemed Jada was more the shaking hand type, but that didn't stop her from taking the fabric of her dress in her free hand and dipping JUST slightly in reply afterward.
"I haven't, I got a bit... distracted by those weird portraits while waiting for my date," She said, turning once more to look at Nick with a soft smile, pointedly ignoring the fact that he may or may NOT be gawking at the shamelessly dressed maid - an idea she saved for later. "One sec!"
She walked quickly across the floor, tugging at his shirt with a cough. "Nick, I'd like you to meet someone," She said, eyeing him and then the maid and then him again - pointedly. Then she took his arm and - drag-walked him over to Jada with a smile.
"Jada, Nick; Nick, Jada," She said with a smile and a bow of her head. ---
Charles Nakahara is in the Entertainment Room/Washroom.
Charles shrugged, slipping into the washroom and laying his coat on the counter top with a sigh. "You are right about that," He said with a small wince as he looked at his shirt in the mirror. "And it's not like they have a dry cleaner or some sort of gift shop with shirts in my size."
He did unbutton the shirt though, slipping it off to reveal an undershirt beneath that was ALSO stained with red but he wasn't about to go completely shirtless. Instead he stuck the shirt in the sink and ran the cold water, trying to get the majority of the wine out of the shirt as he could, and then wrung it out, before looking for a towel or any other cloth to try and pat the damp shirt dry.
"At least it won't be sticky - but there's nothing to do for the stains, I think. Oh well. It had a good run."

The man winked at her already trying to flirt. "Alright... Six of wands, the sun, and-" he flipped a final card for her. "The hermit. Past, present, and future. Your life before this party? Living the good life, you knew you earned what you got and all your accolades are well deserved. This party though? A return to something- a rebirth. Perhaps old love and new happening all at once?" He leaned towards her. The future- trust you gut. Seek help and guidance. Maybe, take some advice and ask for someone's number."
The man was very very bad at flirting.

A very haggered looking waiter slapped his hand over the basement door. "Sir." He looked like he'd seen better days- part of his sleeve was stained a deep red. "The party is else where and the basement is off limits."

Most of the books were fairly in-line to what one might expect. A few on fashion, history, economics, business management, but as she would look closer a few titles would stand out. There were a few in depth doctor guides on cancer treatments, a few on black magic that looked vaguely authentic, and one book, so well worn, the letters had rubbed away.

There is a loud BANG on the door of the washroom. Followed by a very stern voice. "The restroom is for one person at a time only! Please remove yourselves immediately!"

A crash silences the party, and sends everyone into an alert state. Lights flicker, the music skips, and a sudden unease settles over the manor. Kyrstal and Ebony both begin to make their way around to the guests, assuring them that everything is fine, the storm is supposed to pass soon, nothing to worry about. Still, they send out one of their waitstaff to go outside and check the road conditions. The crash sounded very much like a falling tree.
No one has to wait long before the young man returns. The storm in howling, winds rattling windows and making the woods nearby groan. The man says he got to the edge of the property when he saw that a large oak had fallen into the road, taking two other trees with it. The narrow road doesn't have any way to push the fallen trees out of the way, meaning no cars will be able to drive out.
"It's alright everyone, I'm sure we can call the local fire department and they'll come out to get this all sorted." Ebony smiles, leaving with Krystal in tow.
The lights flicker again before you hear another crash. Light bulbs burst, and darkness engulfs the manor.
To those who carry otherworldly powers, you find yourselves feeling a sudden, horrific detachment from said powers, a void in it's wake. Transcended individuals get a sudden and intense feeling of vertigo, coupled with nausea that refuse to abate. Royals find themselves at a gaping loss, the ever present feeling and connection to their planet silent. Generals, Eternal, Knights- all can feel something at the edge of their senses, as if now even unpowered, you can sense a strange foreign power trying to reach you but failing to make a connection before fading entirely. Pens do nothing. Rings and phones cannot connect. Summons are impossible. You feel like a part of you is missing.
You feel, after so long being connected to your powers, even if not awakened, an alien in your own skin. You feel vulnerable.
You feel human.
