"Revenge is a confession of pain"
■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■

Narx stood there for a horrible minute as he saw the beast crunching down on Danaë. There was nothing he could do. He had long thought his worst nightmare was discovering his past life, and that he was actually a terrible human being, but for the first time he realized that that didn't even come close to the horror he was no experiencing. The beast was injured though, it released her with a roar of pain. He ran forwards to catch her with reckless abandon, but then the Manticore suddenly came falling after her and soon surpassed her with a faster critical velocity. "Danaë!!!!" He shouted as he turned to the side and leaped out of the way of the creature. It's body rippled in cracking sounds as it smashed to the ground throwing him off to the side. He quickly scanned the air for Danaë and darted in her direction. He slid under the beasts hind legs. It didn't seem to notice him due to the fact he was on the wounded eye side. It soon launched itself after the other team members but he couldn't help them. They would have to fend it off as only one thing mattered to him right ow."Y-you got-"He started to say as he saw wings magically appear. She was flying? More like a controlled fall, but still, this was incredible!"I've got you!" He said right after she told him to move. He didn't care. He would be there for her even if it hurt. "I've got you.." Her wings gave out at the last moment and he caught her in his arms. He immediately dropped to the ground and laid her down to rest. He slammed his hammer down beside her and placed a hand on her midsection and another on her damaged body where the jaws had ripped into her. His eyes closed and his hair seemed to almost lift up as he activated his semblance. A faint shinning light hummed into existence as her wounds slowly began to mend. The superficial wounds dissipated on her and erupted on his own body. Blood seeping through his clothes. This caused him to grunt, but it wasn't unbearable. The horrible part is when her bones snapped into place. One of his arms went limp as he let out a gasp of pain. His bones wouldn't break as this was a major injury, but he would feel the pain as if his own bones had cracked. The worst part is he didn't have near the same levels of adrenaline running through his body to mask it right now. A small whimper escaped his lips but he held strong. A tear of pain streaking across his left cheek. He would continue to focus and finish the healing process though. It took a few moments before it was complete since the damage was pretty extensive, fortunately the manticore was distracted. "I''m so sorry you were hurt... I couldn't help, but I am so proud of you. You did amazing." The damage she had caused would make fighting the creature fairly easy in a group. Since it had a blind spot it would easily be flanked by 2 or more others. Hopefully chase and Richard could kill it. He pulled Danaë close to him. He was just so thankful she was alive."I''-I don't know what I would have done if-if you.."He couldn't finish his sentence he was too choked up about it.

XXXIt seemed that the onslaught of feathers did something much more than the avian was expecting. A flurry of feathers ranging in size from itty bitty to the size of lances themselves, it shredded through the illusion girl effortlessly. No matter how evasive it tried to be, a large feather pierced through the woman's chest only to have reality hit the Nevermore like a train. Eyes of a deep reddened amber would widen in curiosity as a symphony of chatter clamored through the arena, falling on once deaf ears to it all. Where there was only one child in its flight back, there were now several more all around it. In the midst of its glide, the dual set of orbs would begin taking in the new surroundings. So much sound, so many students, as well as the reckless antics of its fellow grimm. It was the roar of a lion in particular that stood out to it, a final stance. A bloodied roar that declared it had nothing left to lose and would see its hunt to an end, no matter the cost. What a careless creature. Then again, was the Nevermore so different? As it continued its glide, the burning eyes would focus on the two students in front of it. A look-alike of the girl the creature thought it shredded moments ago, and another that had annoyed it. With a gaping beak stretching wide, it was ready to swoop them up for a snack. That was if it wasn't for new pests.

In its low descent, it felt something grab hold of its ankle only to try and kick its oversized chicken feet to try and shake it off. However, there was no luck in that front. As it felt whatever creature it was beginning to shift through its feathers, another pest took a much more painful initiative. It was a feeling much like its own sharpened talons that finally managed to pierce its natural armor that caused the great nevermore to shriek in a painful surprise. The immediate response was flight rather than fight, causing the creature to flap its wings to begin alleviating itself higher. Such a feat wouldn't come easy as both the pest that stabbed into it and the other hitchhiker started wailing on it in unison. The soar became more erratic and uncontrolled, the grand avian using its only flap to rise before turning and thrashing its body in the air to try and shake the hitchhikers. The bullets hadn't done much at a range, but as a concentrated fire directly where the wings were connecting on its back, that's when the creature truly began to feel pain. A cloud of shredded ebony feathers would follow behind the creature like a crop-dusting cloud as Adam continued to mow into it with bullets. Black dust spreading as an unnatural bright red much like its own eyes would be brought to light. An effort that was only assisted by Ridley who continued to hack and cleave into the bird's flesh. The grand creature was determined to not give in to the pain. Instead, it would use its natural durability to its advantage to finally get rid of these pests once and for all.

With another flap of its wings, the creature would change its directory towards the rows of seats in the distance rather than upwards. Nevermore's were known for something other than their size, and that was their destructive nature by ramming their incredibly durable bodies into structures. It was these same avians that could take out bridges and towers, so it certainly wasn't afraid to throw its body into the rows of seats. Nothing would've been as painful as the initial fall into the stadium. A fearsome but mighty screech would shred through the arena once again as a bullet was fired into its belly. Once again it was fired by the long-range assailant that was the first to actually damage the creature, the bullet plunging into a sea of ebony only to expose the glowing red beneath it only to be lost. That, however, wasn't what would take the grand bird out of the sky. Truly, the nevermore had never experienced so much pain in rapid succession. The feeling of its flesh being rended by blades, the nonstop concentrated fire where its wings connected, and a bullet piercing its belly. It was then it would experience a crippling pain that it simply could not endure. It wasn't sure what hit it, what had attacked or could do such a blow, but it certainly felt it. A series of cracks and shatters within its massive wings as the phantom pain took hold. It could feel it, the complex structure of bones shattering into pieces as those same splintered fractures tore through its flesh to the world. It couldn't see the damage from its own eyes, but the pain was certainly there. Its wing crippled and falling limp as the creature let out a blood-curdling screech unlike any other. One of agony, one that matched the roar of the lion that had only plummeted to earth moments ago. The left wing fell limp, useless and crippled as Ridley's semblance took hold, whereas gravity would take the wheel from there. Without the ability of flight, the bird would begin to rapidly descend the remaining feet before crashing into the arena floor. The giant body of the beast would slide directly into the stands, though not as it intended. The impact was rough and without proper control, the bird ended up using its right wing against its will as a cushion from the mighty crash. Where the left wing was a phantom pain, a series of cracks akin to splitting trees would crackle through the arena.

But this bird would not rest. Even after a second crash that seemed far worse than the first, the grand avian of the sky refused to settle into the earth. Talons dug desperately into the earth below, forcing it to keep its ground as the Nevermore threw its head up. It was battered and beaten, both wings hanging limply at its sides while the two that were on its back could have very well still held their place. The creature would take a step, talons burrowing into the earth to desperately keep its balance as its wings lulled behind it. It was then that it would thrash its body, flailing its crippled wings in an attempt to throw off or bash the students that had brought it down to earth. While they flailed loosely through the air, if one was to be batted by it, it would surely feel akin to getting hit by a vehicle. The creature was still very much alive, but writhing in a crippling pain. It was on its last legs and surely would attempt to lash at anyone who approached it with its beak. However, with such restricted movement, there was only so much left it could do. Flight was no longer an option, so the Nevermore was forced to give its last stand on its own two legs... If it could even keep itself from keeling over.

Cecil began to get dragged away by Azura to avoid the remainder of the storm as he could hear Adam yelling while the beast completed it's descent only to get distracted and attacked by Adam as Ridley managed to hop onto the beast as well. Their main tricksters were on the beast as the temperature dropped successfully low enough for Cecil to sheathe his Reiterpallasch as they got off the ring to summon his bow of Ice. He heard Azura speak about the others needing help as he began to weigh the pros and cons. He heard the blood-curdling cry of the manticore, of a faunus in pain, and the Nevermore's cries of anguish before it began to crash into the stands. He got up with Azura as he looked to see the creature, his aura had a small flash before he looked to his bow. It slowly transformed from it's frozen state as he aimed the newly formed Crossbow at the creature. "Azura..... I think I managed to pull from the recess of my semblance... I feel stronger now." He told her as he took aim and took a set of 3 shots at the creature. "We need to kill the Nevermore before it crushes our allies. In the stands!" He told her as the room around began to drop even further in temperature as he held his crossbow.

Their attack looked to be successful in a way. The winged lion beast thing would soon fall to the arena. Richard would react on cue when it struck the floor and start to barrel down on the grimm. While he wasn't exactly blazing fast, speed was faster then expected in a fully armored individual. His training was paying off as the weight of it felt like apart of him now. Moving naturally as if he had worn it from the day he learned to walk. Still the creature had time to get to its feet and even send a fire ball in the direction of Chase. While there wasn't much to help defend the new comrade, he would see that the masked man would happen to douse the flames with a bunch of red liquid...blood? A rather gruesome display and yet effective. Still it wouldn't stop the blue haired man's charge. In fact the Manticore would greet him whole heartedly. Even in itself weakened state the creature managed to leap at him its jaw agape ready to bite down.

"That's right, come at me!" Richard's voice boomed as he planted his feet. Bringing his newly formed mace Rettferdighet back, he swung it over his head as the creature was in mid lung. Perhaps it was the heat of the moment, the heart of battle, but something clicked within him. While partway through the swing, his mace would flare up with a dark purple essence. His aura would take the shape of his weapon being both solid and yet translucent in appearance. The boy's semblance activated in a reactionary manner as he brought it down upon the creature's head. With the weapons reinforced state, it would crack down on its target with a heavy blow. While it was enough to stop from being chomped, it didn't stop the Manticore's forward momentum. It large body would crash into the student like a charging bull. He was sent flying, his armor skidding across the arena floor with sparks in toe. Putting stopping the boy rolled over to wince as he got to a knee. Blood would seep out from a gash in his side and he put a hand over his wound. Apparently one of the horns managed to gore him during the attack. Unfortunately he didn't have a protective aura to reduce the effectiveness of its strike. A down side of his semblance. Yet with his mace still coated in the aura he used it to pull himself up to his feet.

He managed to successfully latch onto the flying beast which eased him a bit, but now he was in the air with no way down that wasn't painful. Adam could tell his attacks were working. Puffs of black ash and feathers began to pepper the arena. He laughed as he considered his onslaught of punching and point-blank project tiles. "Ye~ah, buddy!" he said as he continued. He heard...stabbing. He took a second to look behind him, while still shooting, and saw something that didn't surprise him. "Word? Really, Ridley?" he chuckled. He shook his head forgetting where they were and what they were doing. His attention went back to the mission at hand as he tightened his grip on the bird. "Nah, you're just stalking me!" he shouted firing his bullets again. He looked at her and smiled. "Hey, who told you you can get hurt like that?" he said pointing at the multiple cuts from what he assumed were from the feathers. He saw her body language change and her face practically screamed concentration. Adam tilted his head in confusion thinking about how she could be so at ease at this moment. Then the light went off. Her semblance. Even in class he never saw her use it only they effect it had on Narx. "Uhhh, Ridley" he barely got out before the Nevermore released an ear-shattering screech. Unfortunately, Adam couldn't cover his ears lest he wanted to paint the earth red with his blood and organs. The Nevermore descended rapidly to the ground. And Adam had to think fast. Fighting against the wind, he pulled his way over to Ridley and positioned his body over hers securing her between the bird and him. His body was more durable than that of the average person due to his thicker skin. It allowed him to absorb more impact. "WOOOOHOOOO!" he shouted all the way down. The impact shook him hard, but as long as she was ok he'd be fine. He was barely able to hang on before he loosened his grip. "You good, Ms. Thing?" he asked with a bit of concerned. The bird began to flail at a desperate attempt to shake them off. Adam began to think. This was his FIRST official assignment as a member of Team DARK. He had to impress. He quickly crawled up a bit higher to get to the head of the Nevermore. Keeping a close eye on the wings making sure he didn't get hit or thrown off. Easier said than done. With perseverance and the grip rivaling a vice he made it. It wasn't easy, but he managed to get a bit of footing allowing him to jump and let off a Superman Punch to the back of its neck. After latching on after that attack he'd fire at the back of the head of the Nevermore that wasn't guarded by armor. "I'ma blow your freakin' brains out, Tweety!" he shouted letting out semi-auto bursts keeping his actions as precise as possible.

Koryn handling from above? Check. What grace and a nice direct on top of that! It was unfortunate it did not do much damage aside from angering it more. It showed the toughness of it's hide. Perhaps there was a weaker point to it somewhere? perhaps its abdomen or its stinger? Either way this was icing on the cake so far.
Eira was in position as well. Tessa was also.... TESSA! Turning her head to the rhino faunus Sasselia had to throw herself away in order to avoid getting hit by the flames too. The bluenette sat up coughing after almost eating dirt, relieved the rhino was alright despite the flames. Having been about to approach to check the damage the faunus seemed alright enough for sure! Enough to start barraging bullets at the lancer. By that time it seemed Eira had prepared to fire a bullet as well, aiming just under the lancer at the ground. The effect of it was causing a sort of unique twist that almost looked close to Sassys' own semblance abilities. Well she couldn't just stand there she needed to help too! One thing she knew she could do was give Koryn a space to get away from the crossfire from the other two, while distracting the lancer into Eiras' trap and take the hit better from tessas' bullets.

Gripping her glaive tighter, she surrounded the weapon in a royal blue sort of aura. Using her free hand to poke herself in the shoulder, her whole body also began to glow royal blue. Being set to activate her semblance she spun her glaive over her head with both hands, before removing one hand taking aim. Once her aim was set directly at the Lancer she threw Gravity flux directly towards the grimm, using her semblance to rotate the spinning glaive faster by creating the negative space between her and it. In doing so it increased the velocity of it to spin faster. If it missed the lancer the point was to lure it mostly closer to Eiras'' gravity bullet. Seeing it fly past the lancer she put more focus into her semblance, making the glaive stop in past them. With a calming smile, she changed the negative space to positive space, creating the pull to bring the glaive back to her. The pull caused the rotating glaive to spin back towards her, hoping now to hit the lancer from behind at the wings.

It would come to no surprise that the two jokesters of team DARK would end up on the back of this flying flying beast and looking nothing short if ecstatic with their feat as well as their new found ride. Smirks and smiles followed by breathless laughs, it seemed for just a moment the two of them forgot the true extent of their current situation. You know, the fact that they were soaring through the air on top of a desperate and injured nevermore that was willing to do just about anything to get these pesky little students off of its back. "Damn. You're onto me... and to think I was being so careful." She would tease, letting out an exaggerated sigh. "I just can't help it. I'm a lost schoolgirl when it comes to your boyish charm." The corner's of her lips would twitch slightly as the smirk upon her face grew. Clearly fighting back a laugh, she would wink playfully at him. At his next comment she would give a small shrug before trying to give him a double thumbs up. The task was made a tad difficult by the blades still clutched in her fingers. "Just a little blood. No harm no foul." It was handled in the classic Ridley way of brushing situations like this off. Truthfully, the small scratches that adorned her body was nothing compared to anything she had felt in the best. Through her experiences the girl had managed to build up quite the pain threshold. It was something that came in handy in most combat situations, especially when her semblance involved her directly reliving her past pains. Not to mention if she wasn't careful enough, the phantom Tom pain s became literal injuries for her. Still, for Ridley, every ounce if pain she was submitted to was simply ammunition in her pocket. It was something she could directly use against her enemies in the future. What doesn't kill her only makes her stronger.

As the atmosphere switched as the both if them returned to the task at hand, taking this massive bird out if the sky, her expression grew more serious. It was definitely a strange sight compared to the playful smirk that normally took hold if her features, or the livid glare that shot daggers in times if anger. Adam seemed confused by it, but even as he spoke out to her, she wouldn't break her focus to explain. It would all be made clear to him in time. Effecting grim was always more, complicated. Not to mention she had never tried using her semblance on a creature this large before. She could feel it draining her aura much more quickly than usual. It was a concerning fact, but not one she had the time to think of at the moment. "You're going to want to hold on tight, Adam." She would warn, feeling her aura break through to the beasts sensory nerves. Just a few short moments a blood curdling screech would rip through the air. It was deafening, painfully so, however it was a smug smirk that would don her lips rather than an expression of agony. The pained cry from the bird meant she had been successful. The true power if their captain's ability would show itself as the nevermore began to flap frantically before suddenly dropping into an uncontrolled dive. While its left wing was still completely intact in all actuality, it wouldn't feel that way to the beast. The pain was enough that the beast couldn't even manage to fly through it which left it falling towards the stands once more, with Ridley and Adam still atop it's back. It was a long way down, not only that but this wasn't going to be a smooth landing. Just as she had used her blades to brutally climb the beast, the raven hair huntress brought them back up before slamming them both into the back if the nevermore, just above its wing joint. There she would lodge them, holding tightly to avoid being thrown off. Just moments after, she would feel Adam press down against her back. Initially she was surprised by the sudden contact but it didn't take her long to put the pieces together. He was using his own body to shield her own. She couldn't help the slight smile that tugged her lips, nor the way her heart beat spiked, despite their current situation. There was also a small part of her that wanted to scold him for putting his own well being above his own. Which was hypocritical considering anyone who knew Ridley knew she would do the same for just about anyone, which often lead to recklessness on her part.

The pair was brought back to earth, the impact shaking the entire stadium. It knocked the breath out of her and it took every ounce if strength for her to maintain her grip on the beast. However, her concentration would not break. She had brought this creature down and she was not going to give it the chance to get back up. Granted, with the serious if cracks she had heard, she had the feeling its other wing was left entirely useless. Still, even if it couldn't fly, if it regained use of its left wing, it could be used as a extremely powerful weapon. So even as her body was shook with the force of the crash, protected by any degree by Adam crouching over her, she did not let her thought process stray. Again and again she relieved the experience of a bloody and agonizing compound fracture. Everytime the pain in her arm would grow. It was a warning sign, each throb bringing her closer to a memory becoming reality once more. Even as she heard the fearful screams of her classmates, her focus would not waver. Despite her concern for them, she could not afford it. After all, as much trouble as her fellow students were in, they would have a much bigger problem on their hands if her team didn't manage to take out the nevermore and she refused to risk letting her teammates get injured on account of her own inability. She was their leader and as such she had to protect them. It was her responsibility, or at least she was making it her duty. If they took out their own beast, they could help the other teams with one less thing to worry about.

"You know, I didn't mean hold on so literally." Ridley would tease playfully, clearly not bothered but rather unwilling to let the opportunity to mess with him pass. Sitting up slowly as Adam moved from over her, her head would he left spinning for a brief moment. Blinking away the dizziness she would bring her golden orbs up to meet his gaze with a slight nod. The smirk would return to her lips before she even spoke, indication of the pun to come. "Golden." A soft laugh would escape her lips at her own response before her gaze would roam over hin head to toe, checking him from damage. "What about you, Mr. Argent?" He seemed completely intact, but sometimes injury lay beneath the surface. Sometimes it couldn't be spotted with a simple glance. Just like the risk that was looming over her own head, likely one neither Adam or the rest if her team knew to expe t. After all, when they were supposed to exhaust themselves in aura class. She had never gotten the chance to do so between Tessa's interruption and the devastating fall Danae had taken. It was a consequence she had faced only a few times to this day. The first time she experienced the backlash was a day she would never forget. It had been shockingly painful, something she had never k in to expect until then. It was the true danger to her semblence. It was a powerful ability but it came at a cost and at times a risk to her own life. Draining her aura too far meant that the pain she was causing her enemies to feel would not only become a phantom pain to her, but a physical injury. At least this occurence wasn't a fatal injury, but a shattered arm didn't exactly sound pleasant. Well, it was more than that. She knew it wouldn't be pleasant, from past experience. The effort that it was taking to force this pain onto the nevermore was quickly draining her, however she wasn't going to give up. She was detirmined to see it through to the beast's dying breath, even if it meant she had to take that sacrifice on her end. Still, she recognized the signs as the pain in her arms grew steadily worse, growing more real by the second. As Adam stood, she kept in place, being sure to keep low and stay out if reach of the frantically flailing wings. He was going for the final blow, or so it seemed. Ridley couldn't help but let out a soft laugh at his words to the beast, but kept both in place and focused, keeping the bird incapacitated for as long as was necessary.

Azura Knight

The Nevermore gave a horrific screech which caused Azura to wince in pain. The damage to the Grimm seemed much worse, however. Its flight pattern above became erratic. The sniper lifted her gun skyward once more, taking a deep breath as she followed the target, then a slow exhale as she squeezed the trigger once more. Then the bird started for the ground. It seemed on purpose at first but quickly became out of control. There wasn't much Azura could do but watch and hope Adam and Ridley were okay. At least she didn't see either of them go flying from the back of the Nevermore. With a crash, it hit the ground. When the dust settled she was relieved to see the other half of the team was alright. She smiled at Cecil as he summoned a crossbow for the first time. There would be time for celebrations later though. "Let's hurry up and finish it off so we can go help them." The bird seemed helpless on the ground now, failing about violently, but its wings appeared to be out of service. Azura aimed another shot at its great black breast while her teammates closed in.

XXXIn moments, a warm glow would ignite into a burning inferno within the depths of the creature's maw. With Chase in sight, the Manticore was ready to unleash an immense fireball to finish the huntsmen in training off once and for all. That was, however, until he felt a strain movement both around its jaw and within its mouth. While the flames burned brightly from within, their glow would dull as the red fluid began to crystallize within its open jaw. It was blood, the taste was too distinct for it to be anything else. But what exactly was this blood? The Manticore was either confident or desperate in its own ability, willing to fire the blast despite the odd sensation in its mouth. That same blood would crack and shatter into pieces from the heat and force, however, the remaining liquid would douse the flames before they could truly manifest. Perhaps the Manticore may have stopped if it didn't have adrenaline coursing through it so intensely, caught up in the heat of battle to meet the other reckless huntsman that was so determined to fight.

At the start of this battle, it was clear that this manticore had fought in many battles in its many years. Civilians and huntsmen alike have fallen victim to its hellish onslaught and its terrifying maw. That being a factor, the creature was very well on its last legs in this final onslaught against these huntsmen in training. While the creature was smart, it severely underestimated their capabilities. It was the ball of feathers in particular that took it by surprise, dealing a blow that let nature take its course and have its way with a creature that was never meant to be airborne. It was in the heat of the moment, in its final stand, that it threw all acts of self-preservation to the wind. The Manticore was smart enough to know that it wouldn't leave this place alive, not with so many huntsmen in training. The Nevermore had fallen, the snake was being made a fool of. There were too many students as well as a high-class huntsman on the sidelines. That being the fact, both the nature of the grimm and the pride of the lion refused to let it tuck away. It would not even attempt to flee. If it could take at least one more life, then the grimm would leave its final mark. At least, that's what it was intending to do. Its movements were sluggish. Even as it prepared to leap to the man, something would mount its rear. It was both a sharp bite and a series of slashes that filled the creature with anguish, the lion roaring in fury as it continued to press forward. It ran solely on adrenaline and would not hesitate even as the stringer was clipped from its tail. With all its strength focused in its rear legs, it would leap forward towards Richard and very well intended to carry the masked huntsman and the dog with it. In the midst of the leap, its target would once again pull out a tactic it hadn't expected. While they collided in a head-on reckless charge, it would be met directly to the skull with a mighty blow to the head. The series of bony plates that coated its head would fill with cracks as the mighty creature let out a cry of anguish. The body would fall limp, turning into a mass of dead weight that would collide with the armored boy, only to send him flying.

The Manticore would travel no further. An intense series of cracks would continue to crack and spread through its mask as its body collapsed against the metallic floor. From beneath the body mask, an eerie red glow would illuminate as the inside of any grimm did. One last time, even as the cracks continued to spread, a single paw would try to push the lion back to its feet. It was no longer roaring or growling. Instead, it let out a distorted and heavy breath. No matter how it tried, the creature just couldn't force itself back up. A mask nearly shattered both a leg and wing gone gimp, and a severed tail. There was only so much even the mightest of creatures could endure, and this one had indeed reached its limit. Once burning yellow eyes would lose their fire, going dim before its body slumped over against the metallic floor. The students would only be able to marvel in their victory for a few short moments before the creature and its scattered pieces would fade to dust.

XXXThese damn humans were far more annoying than the one that had brought it here. That woman appeared masked by ignorance as she danced with death at the seat of her pants. It allowed the creature to so easily cast her aside once her reckless nature proved it wouldn't get her any further. That being said, it was these select few that posed more of a compiled threat against it. The tactful teamwork was tearing it down piece by piece, to the point that the creature would never reach for the skies again. What else could this mighty bird of prey do, if not fly to the sky? Thrash. Destroy. Kill. The same plan of action that the Manticore took. At least, from that roar, it sure seemed like it. There was nothing left to lose in these final moments than not taking these humans down with it, just as it was meant to do. Kill them. An instinct that burned within the very core of the great avian, and that it intended to do. Its wings were in agony, the right being fragmented pieces while the other felt as if the bones were piercing its ebony flesh. Every movement writhed in pain, existence itself had become agony in only a few short moments.

All the creature could do in the meantime was use its size in a desperate attempt to end these humans once and for all. Even as it felt the humans crawling up its back, the great avian would continue to thrash its body in a reckless manner. Limp wings would be tossed around without aim, without direction. To strike something, to crush anything, each movement was dedicated to that and solely that. It couldn't aim its wings, thus it couldn't launch a series of feathers again. The control just wasn't there. The creature continued to thrash and bash as everything grew colder. It had become so cold, yet the sun was still so high? With each movement, one would surely notice an oddity of the feathers for the grand nevermore buffing out its feathers to try and retain warmth. The cold had become so intense that even its movements had slow, the thrashes still mighty but sluggish. However, it continued to bob and turn its body as it moved which caused the onslaught of arrows to pierce into its already agonizing left wing. It would turn to toss its wing back, only to have its eyes go dark briefly the moment Adam struck the back of its neck. Such a sudden blunt force had knocked it into a brief daze, but for just a moment. Something so similar to the blackout strike that Rachel had done to it. It was then the bullet from Azura would pierce its breast, bringing it back to the waking world with the sensation of a burning bullet once again getting lost in a sea of ebony. Stumbling to the ground, the Nevermore would caw in desperation. From the endless agony focused in its left wing that grew more intense with every moment, the frigid sensation, and the bullet piercing its chest, it could no longer stand on its own. As desperately as talons tried to firmly latch into the ground, the mighty creature would tumble once more to the ground. Despite the desperate kicks of its legs, the struggled attempts to move its wings, even a half-hearted attempt to raise its head. It was all put to rest as black feathers were blasted to dust from the onslaught of shots from Adam. Flesh once a black abyss would peel away as the eerie tone of red shone through, bright and brighter as Adam punished the giant cockatiel once and for all. With one final shot, the Nevermore would let out a weakened squawk before its eyes went dark. The once fearsome predator of the sky would now slump over as its head fell limp. Soon enough, the creature would begin dissolving into dust as was the fate of any slain grimm.

"Don't worry about it, Bun. Spidy's got a plan. I think I'm going to take a page out of our Teach's book."

Looks like their valiant and heroic leader had an idea going, though his little nickname for Yenna made her raise an eyebrow. "Bun?" She repeated before watching as the only male on the team soon launched himself on top of their beast and looked to be riding it fairly well. His webs were straining the white head from attacking them directly, Yenna looking over to the rest of her team as each was reacting in their own way. How dare he try and take all the glory for himself! The tiny crusader pouted while thinking of what to do with the rest of the team.

".. Ideas.. Ideas?"

Yenna tapped her foot impatiently while thinking of her own strategy. She could maybe tussle with the thing but there wasn't much that she could do aside from maybe just toying around. Nox and Cali appeared to have their own plans in mind, which thankfully didn't seem all that off in terms of viability. Snakes did hate cold after all. Was that why Nox and her ended up in the same bed a lot? She was pretty warm.

"Let's beat this grim inta dust!" Yenna cried, her semblance going active as her crimson aura rocked around her, a crimson color. She slammed her shield on the ground once before crouching down in her battle heels (like any good crusader) and rocketing off towards the beast, thanks to her faunus heritage. Once a good distance close to the beast, she activated the effects of her semblance. In an instant, she blinked forward as if she had skipped the distance between where she was and the snake's black head. In reality, Yenna had simply manipulated the distance between herself and the area in front of the black head and focused on being at that point when she was in her previous location. Raising her shield, the small huntress aimed to whallop the beast with a rising shield uppercut!

Chase along with his hound were taken for a ride as they mounted the manticore. Very quickly after he and hound latched on, arms wrapped around a stinger as teeth sunk into its hide, they were dragged behind it as it ran towards Richard. Moving his arm so his elbow was securely hooked onto it tail, Chase would use his sword wielding hand to begin trying to slice off the manticore's stinger to wound and weaken the beast. 'I'm. Not. Done. With. You!' He thought to himself angrily, seeing the beast as underestimating him and wanting to fix that. He wanted the beast to feel pain, and know it was because it had paid to little mind for him. Each thought was punctuated due to the rough bouncing of holding onto the manticores tail even as he was cutting its stinger tail. His hound just did its best to stay latched onto the manticore as best it could. Chase felt a bit of victory as the stinger gave way beneath his blade, even if the beast seemed to ignore it. 'Next I go for the head!' He thought to himself as he felt a blood lust fill his mind. However, it was at that moment that the manticore leaped for Richard. The sudden force of its leap caused his hound to lose its bite and be left behind as Chase went with it, not reacting fast enough to let go early and holding on because of panic. He saw, due to the arc of the leap, it fast approaching Richard who seemed to be holding steadfast and preparing for it. He would heard a series of loud cracks, feel as the manticore let out a cry of anguish, before it all went to fast as he felt himself crash onto the manticore and the ground roughly. They both slid for a bit, Chases legs being dragged painfully against the ground as he held onto the stump of a tail with all his might. Chase took in a series of short breaths, the adrenaline of hitting the ground fading from his body as he felt the creature mostly limp beneath him. 'Dead already?' He would think to himself, a savage satisfaction in his mind. Seeing it lift a paw, and begin to move albeit unable to pick itself up, Chase would rise and did not hesitate to bury his blade into its back a few more times. And kept doing so until it finally faded to dust. He would stay panting as he stood staring at where the Grimm once was, before dropping to his knees as he began taking deep breaths. The blood lust had taken over, and now gone, he felt the exhaustion of this short fight. 'Finally... Over' He allowed himself to relax slightly. He could hear the sounds of battle all around him, but his battle was done for now. He was too tired to continue in the others, even if part of him wanted to. He sheathed his sword, and drew his pistol. Checking to make sure it was loaded and ready, in case any other Grimm decided to prey upon him now. 'Wait, where is here?' He wondered to himself, turning his head left and right trying to find his companion. His shoulders relaxed as he saw his hound walking up to him. He had a small limp, at which Chase hugged him as well as petted him once he was close enough. "You did good boy. I'll get you a nice steak once we are safe. Sedate." Chase would softly say, voice low and likely inaudible with the sounds of battle all around. Well, inaudible to humans, but he was loud enough for his hound to pick up. The word sedate was a command word of the hounds, to make it be submissive. He didn't want him drawing the attention of another grimm. He was comforting the beast, but keeping an eye out as he had his gun drawn with one arm. If anything tried attacking it would get more than its fair share of bullets. He couldn't afford to treat it quite yet, not having anything for it. And he was stuck here till class was over, though as soon as it was he would leave to treat his hound.

Narx stood in the middle of a small grove of trees. The Arena had been setup as a peaceful setting for passive training. A floating forest. It was too serene for his liking, but Narx didn't mind some quiet every now and then. He had a bored look on his face as he rested his hand on his katana. His weapon of choice today. His hammer was over to the side. He may use it later if he felt, but he also needed to train with his sword on occasion to keep his skills sharp. "What a drag..." He said nonchalantly as he scanned the area. Nobody else in the whole place it seemed. Where was this girl he was supposed to train with? Did she not get the memo?"Maybe I should text her..."He didn't have her number though, but he might be able to get it off the extra credit itinerary. If he had kept that!"Well, nap time." Narx laid on the ground with his hands behind his head. He watched the clouds flutter by as he awaited his training partner.

Skylar dashed through the air in a complete panic. How could she have let this happen? She'd let him down surely and she had no one to blame but herself! She didn't really even have time to change, red spatterings covering the grungy shirt and hand at the horrible mishap. She'd never forgive herself for what she'd done and couldn't believe she'd let this happen as she found the platform that had been indicated to her and dove between the trees.

”Aww no...I'm sooo late! Ya dummy why dinya set like, an alarm or somethin? I hope he ain't too upset...Now I needta find 'im...” Skylar darted between trees, weaving back and forth searching for a good ten minutes or so until she suddenly burst from the trees and, directly below her, not even five feet below her, lay the boy who's picture she'd been sent when she'd been told about today's training exercise. She met his upward gaze for a moment and banked hard to the right, using her momentum to glide up and around for a moment before gently coming back down and dropped the last couple feet.

"My word, I'm soo sorry I'm late! Ya ain't too bothered righ? I-I kinda had a bit o' a mishap...Aww my team's gonna be right angry...I left the room in a terrible state...I-I los' track o' time and was already s'pposed ta be goin by the time I noticed. An' I look a right mess..." As she mentioned how she looked, she began trying to wipe the dark red smudges covering her hands off on the front of her shirt, which already had copious dark red stains starting from the chest. A particular larger swath looked to be fresh and sticky.
