Forgiveness
"Alright. A woman. The point stands is that I'm a guy and there are some viewpoints and just general knowledge and life experiences that I can't bring to the table in which you need the company of other women to find out about." He pointed out.

"Um. Melvin." This somehow managed to get even more awkward than it already had been. "I'm not a woman, either."
He drew a slow steadying breath and exhaled. He could be who he was now, consequences be damned. "I'm a boy, man, male, guy whatever you want to call it."

Melody looked around uncomfortably. Did Melvin just not believe him? Was he upset? He didn't know exactly what to do now as anything could easily make things worse. "I have uh..."
He rubbed his arm anxiously. "...do I need to prove it? I'd rather not."

Forgiveness
The implication of exposing himself snapped Melvin out of it as he shot a hand uo to wave away the way this situatuin might ve going. "No! No. I don't need any proof. God, I already have people thinking I'm a predator. I don't need that."
He pinched the bridge of his nosenas he clised his eyes, trying to collect his thoughts.
"So are you... A crossdresser? Trans? I don't understand." He really hoped he didn't say anything that implied personas.

Forgiveness
Melody sighed loudly. Not really sure where to begin with any of it.
"I don't honestly know what most people would call me. I'm a boy. I've always been a boy. I just. I like... I like this." He gave a quick twirl while holding his skirt hem gently. Stopping with a foot down.
"I feel uncomfortable and.. Well... Unhappy dressing any other way but some people just. People don't seem to like it or me when they find out. They're fine with me being a boy but not dressing the way I want. Or they're fine with me dressing the way I want, but only if I don't correct them if they mistake me for a girl."
"This place seems different though. But by the time I realized, I just. I felt like it was too long and - it didn't matter anyway."
"The fact I'm a boy didn't seem to matter. Until it did."

Forgiveness
"That's a dangerous mindset, Melody. Some people can and will feel you decieved them for them feeling they could trust you based on a kindship from gender of the comfort of sharing themselves with you to find you aren't as you say. I'm not saying you have to wear a badge but just because it doesn't bother you, doesn't mean it won't bother others. It can even be dangerous if you are on leave and someone takes offense so be careful."
"Have you told Lawr?"

Melody glanced down looking thoroughly scolded. "I know. It's why I decided it was worth the risk in the end. Because it has been a problem."
He rubbed his elbow with his other hand. "I hope I didn't hurt you. I was just scared." He blinked and quickly amended, "In general, I mean. Not of you."
His teeth bared in a grimace. "I thought there was a chance you already knew, because he knows. He uh. Saw when he was dressing my wound."

Melvin looked more serious at this. "Did he try doing anything to you while he was dressing your wounds."

Melody looked a bit surprised by the sudden shift but shook his head no. "No. He was entirely professional. Jordan made sure of it."
He offered a lop sided look. "Does this mean it doesn't bother you?"

"No. It doesn't bother me. It's your choice to do as you please. It's not killing anyone. Just be aware some people won't be and proceed with caution. Hate crimes happen, hunter strength or not. That's all I can really say about it."
It seemed Jordan knew about Melody too.

Ain't no sunshine He watched Zeke, staring at the back of his head for a while.
Adjusting the blanket around him from where he sat, he asked. "What do you think then, about me?"

Ain't no sunshine It made him pause again, and the phone lowered slowly as Zeke considered how to answer that question. "You're interesting." Which was the simplest truth. He turned to look down at the man in the blanket. "You've been through a hell of a lot, and it shows. I think what you want, and what you're capable of accepting don't always align, and I think you worry at a topic of conversation like a dog with a bone, unaware of how it makes the other people around you feel. Or uncaring, but I don't think that's the case. You seem to want to do good, be good, but sometimes it's a struggle." He shrugged after that. "What do you think of me?" If their last conversation was anything to go by, it wasn't a very high opinion.

Ain't no Sunshine
He considered his words silently but said nothing as of yet. Instead, he thought if the question.
"I've been trying to figure you out. You offer advice but I feel you hold back a lot of information about your life. I don't hear stories about your experiences or past. You're open and offer help, but your indifference to people's opinions makes it hard to empathize since you don't care what other people think. You work hard for others to help them succeed but I get a weird impression you care less about your own."
He thought a moment more. "But you aren't vindictive and don't seem manipulative either. Just easy going and lazy with relationships but hard working with actual duty work."
