August 2017 Academy: Language arts Junior 1. Student writes a Haiku. If not original, proper credit must be given. 2. RP the student writing the Haiku. 3. 100 words minimum. 4. ??? Profit!
Username: Strawberri Stardust Student Name: Nyrili
Haiku: Beautiful wings of Palest rose and the darkest Cherries. Please be mine.
Response: Nyrili only half heard the teacher explain about the assignment. She couldn't help it, she was always distracted when Ophelia was close. For Hunter's Jubilee, the Naga had stuffed a romantic secret admirer note in Ophelia's locker but hadn't had the guts to come out and tell her that she'd written it. They were friends now, though. Kind of. Nyrili sighed quietly to herself and turned her attention to the assignment. What was she supposed to write about? Anything, she guessed. Maybe she could take another crack at wooing Ophelia... Yes, that sounded like a good idea. Even though it made the Naga's heart race in anxiety.

August 2017 Academy: Language arts Senior 1. Pick, save, and complete one of the crossword puzzles. 2. PM the completed puzzle to me Kivras. They will quote you to confirm they have received it. 3. RP the student completing and turning in their chosen puzzle. 3. Total word count is 100 words or more. 4. ??? Profit!
Username: Strawberri Stardust Student Name: Effie Crossword PM'd?: Yep~
Response: When Effie thought 'language arts' class, she did not think 'crossword.' But she enjoyed puzzles sometimes, and snagged the one about Daydreams. She didn't know them very well, so she figured it would be a good idea to learn more about them. Some of the clues made her frown and wonder why societies were cruel. Others were pretty neat. She thought she might like to meet a Fey one day and see their plant growing ability in real life. Goblins and their hot sauce she knew well, from her daddy Matty. She giggled a little, remembering the time she'd tried some. It was clear she'd inherited her daddu Ryker's more Grimm taste buds. No hot sauce for her!

Username: Embi-lamb Student Name: Rhys Crossword PM'd?: Yes
Response: Rhys found the crossword insanely boring and easy to complete. Such was the way of things when you had a substitute, though. Crosswords and wordsearches and lame movies always seemed to be substitue teacher's go-to for getting kids to feel like they were having a 'fun' day. Thing was, the seniors weren't kids and the funness of a crossword were long lost. Something maybe freshlings would find fun, depending on the type. Rhys knew a few freshlings he lived with who dreaded crosswords, but loved word searches. Hmmn ... he wondered why they even existed in the first place. Maybe a teacher created them.

Username: Embi-lamb Student Name: Laviticus Crossword PM'd?: Yes
Response:Laviticus rather enjoyed doing crosswords. He found them fun and sometimes even challenging. He loved watching all the words slowly fill in, and being able to guess based on pre-determined letters what the next set of empty spaces meant. The lax nature of the classes lately had been a much appreciated break. His years at the Academy were coming to an end, and it was making Laviticus feel anxious with all the things left to do in order to graduate. It was worth it, though ...

Username: VerityHattress Student Name: Jacintha Crossword PM'd?: Yes
Response: Jacintha knew lots about her fellow nightmares, so finishing this crossword was quite easy for her. There was a few she had to think upon, but by the end she was one hundred percent sure she had gotten them all correct. She wasn't sure how this would help her to understand language arts better, but it was something to do with words, so maybe it did? Anyhow, she found it fun to figure out what the answers were and putting them into their little spaces in the crossword puzzle, and she had even learned a few facts about a few of her fellow nightmare races. She would do this again any day. With her assignment done, she got up and turned it in to the teacher with a large grin.

August 2017 Academy: Language arts Freshling 1. Roll a 4-sided dice. 2. Depending on the picture rolled, Student writes a story about/of the picture. 3. RP the student reacting to writing the story and/or how they feel about the assignment. 3. Total word count is 150 words or more. 4. ??? Profit!
Username: Shaddaling Student Name:Jamie Number Rolled: 3
Story:Once upon a time, the lady in the chair met a pretty white horse, who was really an unicorn. They went on many adventures together to find the unicorns missing horn. Eventually they defeated the witch that stole it and the unicorn was so pleased, he healed the lady and together they went riding. Into the moon, because that is where unicorns live.
Response:Jamie did his best to write his thoughts on the paper, unsure how to spell a few things but rather excited to tell a story. The horse looked so pretty and nice, and the lady looked so happy. So it had to have a happy ending. And Unicorns and moons because they were neat. And the moon was pretty, like the lady and the horse.

Username: Sara Siren Noire Student Name: Yaruka Crossword PM'd?: Yeppers
Response: The class assignment was surprising, to say the least, but Yaruka loved word puzzles! When she looked at the puzzle she was given she thought it was clever to include a little history and cultural quiz in a game. Some of the answers were pretty easy but there were definitely some she had to think about for a moment before actually finding the right answer....though for some it was a process of elimination once other connected words were filled in. All in all, it was a cute assignment! It was nice to just sit back and relax sometimes....things were just so serious lately. She had to be serious, though....she had to graduate. The sooner she did, then she'd be one step closer to actually being able to do something to help people. Not like before....not again.

September 2017 Academy: Language Arts Senior 1. Student describes their favorite or dream outfit in as much detail as possible. 100 words or more. 2. Post a small RP response in thread with the student's reaction to the assignment. There is no word count needed for this. 3. ??? Profit!
Username: MiladyEmerald Student Name:Miera Dream Outfit: I love colors, the brighter the better. But they have to go together so no clashing. My Favorite color is Turquoise, followed by Purple. So my dream outfit would have to be in those colors. Seeing as I’m a Grimm I don’t need it to be super warm, though I love spring time because of all the bright colors. So I think I’d like a dress for spring to be my dream outfit. I’d want it to have puffy sleeves on the shoulders and a nice full pleated skirt. It would be done in a turquoise soft fabric, with purple lace and accents for trim.I’d like it to have a folded collar with little buttons down the front that are in purple, or possibly black for a bit of contrast.I’d want the buttons to be little flowers in celebration of spring. To complete the look I would love to have matching purple bows for my hair, I think that would set it off quite nicely. Response: Miera sat in thought as she looked at the question given. She’d never been one for clothing much, she’d sorta just worn what she had and developed a style from that, but to be asked what her Dream Outfit was came as a surprise. She sat in thought for awhile, before starting with the thing about clothes that mattered most to her- Color. Biting her lip in concentration she wrote out in stream of consciousness what came to her for an outfit. To her surprise she found herself quite liking the results. Smiling pleased with the outcome she handed in her paper.

September 2017 Academy: Language Arts Freshling 1. Student writes out their name with other words. 2. Post a small RP response in thread with the student's reaction to the assignment. 4. Must be at least 100 words total 5. ??? Profit!
Username: Midnightglow18 Student Name: Illusion Name-Words:
I (nviting) l (aughing) l (oving) U (nusual) S (weet) I (maginitive) O (riginal) N (ice)
Response: Illusion had fun working on his name assignment, he had a little trouble with the first I of his name, his name was pretty long considering his name was Illusion. He didn't think many other freshlings had so many letters in their names. Or maybe they did he really wasn't sure. Illusion thought he was an inviting freshling he liked welcoming everyone he met. He loved to laugh. He was sure that he had done his name project well, describing himself in a fun way. He smiled at the teacher and pulled a flower out of his sweater to give the teacher when he turned his paper in.

Username: Midnightglow18 Student Name: Magi Name-Words:
M (usic) A (irplanes) G (ames) I (magination)
Response: Magi wasn't really sure if she understood the assignment and her name was rather short, she only had 4 letters in her name being named Magi. She did like music, airplanes, games, and imagination. So that was good right? Magi was still trying to figure out who she was inside and out. Right now she was just content to be herself and read and play with other freshlings. She did want to figure out what she wanted to be when she grew up but that could wait for another day, Magi didn't need to figure everything out today after all.

September 2017 Academy: Language Arts Junior 1. Student picks a 'Leader' type character and defines which traits make them a leader. This must be 100 words or more. 2. Post a small RP response in thread with the student's reaction to the assignment. This must be at least 100 words total 3. ??? Profit!
Username: Midnightglow18 Student Name: Treat Character Chosen: Jack the pumpkin king from nightmare before christmas How are they a Leader?: Jack the pumpkin king is a leader because even though he was never the mayor of the town, everyone came to Jack with their problems and Jack did his best to make everyone happy. Even when he got things wrong he did his best to fix the problem and make the town better. Jack wanted to share his discovery of christmas with the others in Halloween town, and even though he went about it the wrong way, I think that Jack's heart was in the right place. Well if a skeleton has a heart anyway. Jack really should have listened to Sally sooner, but then the movie would have been really boring.
Response: Treat did his best to say what he meant about Jack the pumpkin king, but he wasn't really sure if it was right or the right way to say it. He sighed and turned his paper in anyways he wanted to get this done he really wasn't much for writing. He sighed again he wanted to go see Amber and do some more stuff with their haunted hallows projects. That he had fun with and was pretty good at. Also making haunted hallows treats. Writing about a leader really wasn't his thing, he just hoped he would pass the project.

Username: Midnightglow18 Student Name: Enju Character Chosen: James from James and the Giant Peach How are they a Leader?: James from James and the Giant Peach was a leader to the others in the flying peach after Mr centipede attempted to the leader and failed the others decided that James should be the leader. Enju wrote. James was the one who thought of the peach as food and drink when the others had forgotten. James might not have been the biggest or the most powerful leader, but when it counted James stood up for what he believed in and what was right. Even though it was scary James stood up to his evil aunts and didn't let them take him back to his sad lonely life.
Response: Enju was a bit worried that the teacher wouldn't like his paper, Enju wasn't the most confident hallowed he was shy and wasn't really sure of himself. He looked over his paper and few more times before he sighed and laid his head down on his desk then he got up from his desk and turned his paper in. He just hoped he had passed the class he really didn't want to have to take the class over again. But what did Enju know about leadership? He was a rammykin he was fluffy and soft. Then again James wasn't the biggest or the bravest but he was a leader.

Username: Midnightglow18 Student Name: Eisetsu Character Chosen: Mother Gothal from Tangled How are they a Leader?: Mother Gothal from Tangled was very clever and skilled, she had a lot of carefully laid out plans to protect Rapunzel who became a magical item after the foolish castle guards ripped a magical plant from the ground. When they could have learned how to use the flower without destroying it or in this case trapping the magic in a being's body. Mother Gothal did the right things protecting the magic, even though she refused to share it with the kingdom that stole the flower in the first place. Mother Gothal protected the gift and was killed by her nieve daughter's lover. Mother Gothal was a leader in my view point.
Response: Eisetsu decided to choose someone that some might not see as a leader, she chose Mother Gothal from Tangled. After all even though what she did was selfish and wrong she did lead every part of Rapunzel's life taking care of her and trying to protect her from the world. Hiding her away in a tower to protect her magic hair. Which could very well have been abused or cut if she wasn't safely hidden away. Eisetsu's paper had a cold edge to it, she wasn't really in touch with her emotional side of her mind, she thought in logic. She believed that Mother Gothal was smart and clever the plan Mother Gothal had to defeat Rapunzel's lover should have worked.
