Aria couldn't let out an "Aww..." of sympathy as the fire spread from the zorua's behind to the rest of its body. It didn't help that the poor thing had apparently been clueless until the pain kicked in. Still, it was a clear indication that Bael had won the battle, as was Daydream's congratulations on the win. "Thank you, sir. I hope you get some new... Playmates soon, she said in an attempt to leave on a cheery note before turning for the door. "Come on, Bael. We've got more stuff to do." With that, Aria made her way out of the room, and Bael, who had been laughing at the zorua's misfortune until his trainer called him by name, followed after her.

"Maybe not, but he'll be in a coffin when I'm through with him," the trainer grunted in response to the voice's confused statement. Emboldened by the hit, even if it wasn't very damaging, the young trainer straightened up, clenched his fists, and put on a smirk. "Alright, Mephisto. We got this, just gotta keep it up."
The Gastly cackled, feeling much more confident after hitting his opponent. It might not have done much damage, but from where he was sitting it looked like his luck was turning around. And if that was the case, they were golden. He saw the vine whip approaching, and decided to try a favorite ghost trick- his gaseous body began spreading thin, attempting to allow the vine to pass through him without actually touching him.
It was only now that Altair reached up for the brim of his hat, with a moment of hesitation before he tipped it in a polite gesture before taking it off entirely. There would be no time to marvel at his looks, however; as soon as he had revealed his face he turned around and began to leave. "Adieu to you then. Thank you for the well wishes."

Squeake gave a nervous little chitter like a laugh; he'd landed the hit, but hadn't done much damage. This wasn't a battle he was comfortable with, so he ended up backing up, eyes fixed on the Fomantis. If his opponent lunged, he wanted to be ready.
"Ahhh, a beautiful clash!" Daydream cooed. "Still, I bet you can turn it around! C'mon, little buddies... oh, and Squeaker, you miiiiight want to get ready to dodge. dodge."
Squeaker let out a little whine, glancing back and forth. Why him? Why always him? Hissing and clicking, he began to weave back and forth in the darkness; if he was moving fast enough, perhaps the Fomantis couldn't touch him?

On the topic of taking damage-- see, doing damage in this guild doesn't stop at 0. If a Pokemon takes damage, and it goes below -7, the Pokemon will die. Fortunately, the potion your Pokemon imbibed will rescue your starter from death... but only once, and it won't last forever, so be careful. There are some events and items that can revive the dead, but they're very rare, so don't count on them.))

A striking attack, but one with deadly consequences. The shadows dug into Egghead's body, mixing with the room's natural darkness to create something bigger than probably intended. /W-what?/ the Dragon-type squeaked, shrugging to get out of the dangerous grip. Emboldened by the Ralts' counter attack, shadows of the room came alive, and with an almighty heave, the Bagon was yanked down into the darkness, disappearing without a trace.
"Hehehe, I get it!" Despite the disappearance of his Pokemon, Daydream seemed tickled pink by the battle's resutl "You hide a violent streak with a mild-mannered attitude! Prettyyyyyyy clever, but you can't fool me!" Daydream giggled playfully as the darkness deepened. "Anyway, well done! You're now a fully-fledged member of Akumu Academy! And as this fight shows, you'll fit right in! Now, why don't you run along to the Auditorium? There'll be a list of what you need to do before you go to class... He laughed again, quieter this time. "And good luck.

Vincent and Ralts watched the scenery as the shadows seemingly swallowed up the Bagon. "Neat." Ralts had a lot of potential and undiscovered power. This battle had gone very smoothly, they hadn't even suffered damage. Vincent stared at his calm, silent Ralts. "This battle...went so well..because we had Trust in each other. You trusted me and followed my orders..and I trusted you, and your strength. Trust...huh?...I think I'm going to call you that from now on!" Vincent grinned down at his partner, the officially named Trust.
Trust smiled back at her trainer. She liked that name. She was all about trust. Perhaps she would become the embodiment of what trust meant. /Thank you, Trafalgar. May our future be long./ Trust replied, calling him by his real name.
It seemed to Vincent as if Trust was happy with the name. "Well, thank you Daydream. Thank you for everything. We're out of here, for now. Vincent and Trust strode away to their other tasks.

The small, strange ball shot right into the Wimpod's eye... and promptly exited out somewhere near on of his back legs, leaving a pair of bloody holes behind. The poor Bug-type never stood a chance.
"Nyehehe, silent but deadly, eh?" Daydream remained too easily amused. "Well, even if you're the shy type, maybe you've got enough blood-hunger to make it in Akumu... oh!" he yelped, interrupting himself. "Congratulations! By winning this battle, you're an official member of the Academy! Welcome aboard, little buddy! Now, what you're going to want to do next is check out the Auditorium; there should be some info on what to do and where to go from here... I mean, I haven't left this place in like... I dunno, a century or so at least, so I'm no help to you. Good luck!" With that, the voice faded out, the shadows growing closer in his absence.
((All right, since we don't have a lot of time, I'll try to go back over the most relevant info!
Although you didn't need it (and you didn't have it), if you intend to use a healing item, you'll need to wait until your attack turn. Using an item effectively "takes the place of" your attack turn, so you couldn't use Weather Ball AND give your Fomantis a Potion at the same time.
Held items like berries and in-game items must be given to the Pokemon before battle starts.
If this had been a wild battle and you had possessed the right items, you might have been able to try and catch the Wimpod! To catch a Pokemon, simply throw a Pokeball (if you have one), and roll a D20. This is called your capture roll... of course, it's not that easy. Each Pokemon has a capture rate, and you have to roll that number or higher to catch the Pokemon; by lowering their HP, you lower the capture rate. Fail a capture roll, lose the Pokeball. Like in the games, you can't catch fainted Pokemon, and you definitely can't catch dead Pokemon.
One battle mechanic we didn't cover in the fight is counter-attacks. Counter-attacking involves attacking during your defense turn. A counter-attack can turn the battle around, but it can also be very dangerous. See, failing to land a counter attack results in a x2 penalty-- so if you would have taken 5 damage if you hadn't countered, you would take 10 damage if you did counter. Furthermore, countering consecutively results in a -2 HP penalty each time you do so. We've had people kill their starters multiple times doing this, so just be careful.
On an RP basis: Pokemon are capable of communicating between each other, and can use their own forms of speech. Humans cannot understand Pokemon, but Pokemon can understand humans.
Under no circumstances are you to delete your rolls. If you do like I did, and forgot to roll, that's okay! Just quote your post and roll. Given the nature of this guild's battle mechanic, that can be construed as cheating.

The girl stepped over to the killed pokemon and smiled a little before looking back at Fomantis with an approving nod. Fomantis jumped a little with joy as she got praised by her master. >yes I did it< it clicked before it was returned to it's poke ball.
The girl just headed towards the door leaving the same way she appeared exiting silently.

The girl would seem to smile lightly at the slight shift in the enemies demeanor.
"SO, it worked, and it would seem that it clears it from my own pokemon. Very useful, I wonder if it would work on things like confusion as well? A move like that could make status attacks useless and even better ...it can save me on things like items."
The girl would tuck away the dart in one of her shirt pockets, and then pull out a pencil and pad of paper seemingly out of nowhere. She was once more ignoring everything as the Murkrow feeling better would fluff out his feathers. He would check himself over completely before he would flap his wings hard ..being on the ground made him hugely uncomfortable.
Thus, he would power upwards, even as the attack came at him. It would seem he was ignoring something just as important as well.
"It's not everyday you run into a Woobat using Charge beam, so I can't help the little bit of praise."
The girl would respond to the thin air, which felt weird not long after she had done it. Talking to nothing, felt a lot like talking to oneself, and she had to wonder what others would think of her if they could see it.
She would huff silently to herself.
"No matter."
Aida would miss as her jaws would snap onto nothingness. She would just look at the pokemon and growl lightly. She wasn't sure what was going through its head, but a cold chill hit her at a thought. But she would quickly drown it, with both paws if she needed.
There was no way that that thing ...could possible think she was interested in it. Her blood and breeding was too true for that sort of thing as she was set herself up for the next attack. Afterall, in the air, she was helpless to chase it, so the best she could do was wait.
There was times like this, that she cursed her own lack of speed. No matter, she would have another chance.
"You are growling,"
The little princess would declare sharply to her pokemon.
"Ladies, and pure bloods do not growl."
She would comment snidely and immediately the sound would die on the Snubbull's lips. Her eyes sparkling with the thought of murder. Yes, pureblood, can cause a few genetic disasters, like madness, so, for the moment she defended and waited for her chance.

/Did you like what you see, cutie?/ Apparently, the battle was the perfect time for flirting... at least for the Woobat. He fluttered closer, chirping happily., though his cheery attitude would disappear quickly. /... baby, you're hot, but that's NOT what I what I was thinking when I wanted a kiss!/ Fluffers exclaimed, staring with growing horror as Aida lunged. Squawking, he beat his wings, taking to the sky.

Ignoring their opponents was a greatly unwise decision, as both trainer and Pokemon would swiftly realize. Again the barbs would embed themselves in the Murkrow's flesh. They'd taken care of one problem but they were still losing. If they didn't turn things around soon Chrono's goose was cooked! "Pencil and paper are for the classroom child. Here the only thing mightier than the sword is the bigger sword!" The voice declared in a dark, harsh tone.
Meanwhile, despite still feeling woozy, the Gligar would fold her left 'wing', diving sharply to one side. Swishing her tail and shifting her weight as she adjusted her arms, the purple shelled Pokemon would enter a series of aerial acrobatics. By Arceus she hoped this was worth it, cause any second now she was gonna puke....
With speed and power the whipping fine would cut through the Gastly's body, stirring up the various fumes it was composed of into a jumbled mess. Still the toxic nature of the gases would serve the pokemon well, as the wilting of the vine would weaken the damage dealt.
Meanwhile the voice was simply not impressed "You're definitely not a Cerulean. Work on your trash talk kid....or maybe I need to throw you in the trash! GWAHAHAHAHA!" certainly not the most malicious thing the voice had ever said, but it was still pretty mean.
Once again left to it's own devices the Bellsprout would begin wobbling away, shaking it's leaves for balance as it bobbed it's all too heavy head.
