Malion sat hunched in the Life Skills class. Mending? Boring. If he needed something fixed, he'd give it to Galan. Or, y'know. Pitch it. Get something new.
With deft little stabbing motions, Malion put needle to his old sweatshirt and proceeded to stitch up the tattered cuff. The thread was bright yellow, so it was easy to follow the line as he worked on the plum-purple jersey.
At last -- all done! He flipped the shirt the right way out to look over his handiwork and grimaced. What had looked like pretty little stitches while he worked now revealed itself to be a garish mess of tangled yellow thread. Ah well, the hole was closed, but now he had a permanent 'ball of yarn' dangling from his sleeve. If it wasn't wrecked before, it sure was now.
Embi-lamb Sorry for the double-roll! I had tried to do two students, but I don't have a second eligible Junior at present! Ignore the second roll, please!

Odessa smiled happily at all the plushies she had managed to make. She had gotten used to sewing things when her mother was sick, trying to keep their clothing from being completely tattered, but sewing plushies was something completely different. She didn't know she was so good at it! She would be sure to give away some of them to some freshlings later, she was sure some of them would love them!

Pandora had never really tried sewing before. When she heard the assignment she had some reservations, but at least she couldn't fail, right? When she began to sew it she realized there were a couple hiccups in the thread and she had to redo it, but in the end she was actually pretty satisfied with how the little guy turned out. Maybe she'd actually have to keep it.

Kiessi was actually pretty nervous about this assignment since this was what they wanted to do with the rest of their life. They wanted to make sure everything was perfect, and perhaps that was the reason they had taken longer than they should have when making it. This wasn't their first time creating a plushie, but it was the first time sewing one in front of other people. When the plushie actually came out well, Kiessi let out a breath of relief, happy with their work.

Anara wasn't looking forward to doing a plushie, she thought it was rather pointless, but she needed the grade. There was a couple times she had accidentally pricked her finger and had to apply a band aid or two. In the end she was a bit surprised that her plushie hadn't turned out lopsided somehow. Maybe she was better at sewing than she thought?Embi-lamb Sorry for the multiple quotes! gonk

In fact he had sewn before. It was a simple enough activity once you got the hang of it. At least the mechanics of it were. Had you asked him to do something more creative rather than patching a hole it might have been a bit different. But all the same he was rather pleased with his work and happy enough to show it to the teacher once he was finished. "Does this look alright then?"
