They plodded through yet another featureless segment of cavern. For lack of anything else to look at, Caliban glanced over at Goliath. He noticed that the pup was also carrying a glowing mushroom. Come to think of it, the mushroom-like growths on those Paras had also been glowing. Was there a connection there? The Leafeon squinted at his own mushroom out of the corner of his eye. Why had he picked up the thing, anyway?
The cave was a veritable labyrinth, but so long as Thunder Rat did not get lost, or die, or--Arceus forbid--fart in such an enclosed space with little ventilation, she figured things were going well! The path continued onward, and so did she.

Lain watched, still embarassed, as the group of pokemon made their way through the cave. One pokemon in particular seemed to know where she was going, finding not one, but two ways forward. Fluttering up to Thunder Rat, Lain smiled. "Have you been this way before? I actually kind of flew over the cave, personally."
Progress!
Alright, so we've gotten part way through the cave! If you guys roll enough 20s before the 24 hour mark ends, we'll proceed, but the paras will still be available until that time. Just so you know what's up. :3
Jax looked back and down, spotting a rather unique looking mudkip at her back heels. "Oh, hello. I didn't see you there. Are you alright?" She asks a little concernedly as they follow the Emolga and Lain. She goes to move down a different passage only to stop, dead in her tracks as she hears something very....strange that sounds as if it is rushing towards them. Jax stands protectively in front of their party, glowing a bit brighter and growling lowly to try and ward off the possible oncoming creature.
Goliath started to look at the walls and ceiling forgetting all about the rocky ground. He stubbed his toe yet again. He was glad for the silent company. Picking up his mushroom again he continued on.
Domo saw that the glowing was from a Paras that was scuttling about. Rather then bother it, he picked a nearby mushroom that was glowing just as brightly and continued about his business. He couldn't help but snicker at Jax's continued misfortune. His laughing was halted when he felt a small bump to his side. He peeked over his shoulder to see a mudkip.
"Oh, hello there small one. Are you lost as well?"
Jax snuffs at Domovoy indignantly, rolling her eyes. Like he was having any better luck. She shook off the feeling of trepidation and walked on, only to be stopped by another dead end. "There has got to be a better way..." She said to herself and looked around for another passage.
Caliban snarled as he finally stubbed his own toe. His mind must've gone so blank in this featureless darkness that he hadn't noticed the one rock in his way. At this rate, he'd become as clumsy as Goliath. Goliath, somehow still beside him. Loyal – or maybe just staying close to the light – though Caliban hadn't been especially welcoming. Forging on through the cave without a backward glance. The Leafeon was impressed.
Domo went another way after seeing Jax hit another dead end, only to hit one of his own. He glared at the wall. Once again, he thought, if he was alone he could just float up and out of here.
Keeping close to Jax and Domo, deciding it better to be with the safety of the two strangers than to be alone when there were things flying out of no where, and sounds echoing through the vast corridors.
He peeked down one path, though, having thought he maybe felt a breeze come that way.... only to lean enough to see that it was most definitely another dead end. However.... there were a pair of glowing eyes staring back at him.
A chill shot through him....
Nopenopenopenope.
Scooting back quickly to his company, he perked up as another joined their team. Wearily watching the Mudkip, he noticed that the other didn't seem all too fond of their surroundings either. For now, Barneby kept quiet, letting the others do the talking, since they would do a far better job than he.
Caliban stared down another blank stretch of tunnel. He'd checked carefully for treacherous rocks this time, but it didn't improve his mood. His leafy extremities were beginning to droop.
Forever, he almost wanted to tell Goliath. But he shook himself. "I don't know. But we can only go forward. It will be worth it." The Leafeon was convincing himself as much as the pup. "We have to keep moving."
Thunder Rat puffed up at the compliment, all courtesy and prim smiles. "THANK YOU, FELLOW GLOWSTICK," she blasted. "TRUTH BE TOLD, IT'S MY FIRST TIME HERE, TOO."
Case in point, she turned a corner and bashed her nose into a dead end.
