Lasarra - Post Nine She nodded. She didn't plan on straying far from his side. "I'll have Achran." Izsha was with her as well, but in size Achran was much more visible.
She nodded as she heard the matron speaking. She had seen the mystic before, once when she was very small, and was surpised to see her. Things were worse then she thought. She followed her husband and was drawn out of her thoughts when he asked her if she was ready. She wasn't, but she never would be. Not to fight her sisters anyways. However she didn't have a choice. "No, front lines it is. I will show that not all of my kind are quite so stupid." Zuri - Post EightThat was perfect. With both of her siblings with the healers they would be safe and she wouldn't have to worry about them. "You know Kayin, I can teach you if you want. Later of course. At least some kind of knowledge with a spear."
As happy as she was that neither of them were fighting she wished that her sister had more of a choice. "Yes they are here, so I will leave you two now. Please stay safe, and stick together." she knew that she didn't have to say the words, but it made her feel better to do so.
Niadra - Post Eight She laughed. "Yes, this is when you realize how many of us there are. And some have stayed home, so imagine." she shook her head. There were a lot of people, but a lot of land so it evened out. If only everyone could see it that way.
"Well you are always welcome to join me and my troupe. As long as you help out every once in a while you'll have food and shelter..." she was about to say more when she heard the matron's voice. "We better go find a tent to help out in. Seems like things are starting to heat up."

Aselia Post 10 In Aselia's opinion it had taken far to long to return to Sauti with the extremists. But there she stood beside the Matron her head inclined to the side as her antenna's twitched. She wasn't the only sister keeping a close eye on their surroundings, keeping track of the movements around them. While the abundance of vibrations ahead of her were confusing and hard to follow she knew better this time around than to keep her flank unprotected. The hunt with the sisters around her had seemed to boost moral in a good way and while Aselia didn't fully trust the Matron she felt a swell of pride that she was assisting in helping them enter Sauti. No matter the reasons behind her help Aselia wouldn't contest if it meant getting back into Sauti to see the Suruhama. Listening to the Matron speak Aselia was one of the first to draw her bow. Her own awareness of her surroundings heightened from her previous experience. She was not going to take another blow so easily this time. Not without a good fight. There were at least two crystal crawlers in particular she wanted to dig her weapon into. That mocking stranger with the purple bandana and the ice woman who had ordered her out of Sauti. The sound of someone calling her name pulled her attention to the side, leaning over to a few of her companions Aselia whispered to them about watching your backs out here. Turning to see who had called out her name so blatantly Aselia's eyes settled on Rishima. Her smile faded as she stared him down, from where he stood Aselia gathered he was turning against his own people. "It's a shame to be standing opposite of you after all this time." Aselia responded by taking a step infront of the Matron closer to the hybrid. "What do you want to talk about?" Aselia mocked as she let her bow drop. "You haven't come to gloat about my inability to find the Suruhama now... have you?"

And so he was back in Sauti, staring down a horde of Alkidike women (armed with swords, spears and various other pointy objects).
It was a somewhat unusual turn of events, and for some time back in Jauhar he had considered ignoring the whole matter altogether. But with so much of Tendaji's population crowding the front lines, it seemed... imprudent. This was his homeland, after all, and he wanted to be around to see what happened.
He was stationed back at camp for now, helping mind the series of tents and canopies that held the defenders' kitchen and food supply. He was better-qualified for that than for fighting... although if the Alkidikes did break into the tent proper, he'd end up swinging his fists. Or maybe that particularly-heavy skillet he'd be eyeing... that'd make a good club.
When he heard the shouting from beyond the frontlines -- an unmistakably derisive challenge from the alkidike leader -- he moved that skillet a little closer to him and waited for the first clash of swords.

They had decided to come with the Matori force. "Times are changing", Oriole had said. "We can't just hop around and play fishing-songs forever."
So they had packed their smaller drums and now they were in Sauti, that strange land shelved above his native home. It seemed as if everyone in Tendaji had gathered here, and for a while the camp was a buzz of activity as everyone got settled and ready. The drumming troupe managed to do a good job of working up everyone's courage with pounding rhythms, even if these new war-songs were not a part of their usual routine.
Then -- in an instant -- the air itself seemed to tense and freeze. The alkidike leader shouted towards them, the drums went silent for that instant. What next?

Sauron Post 6 Sauron waved Vuka over to his group busily counting everyone and making sure they had enoug supplies for the big mess that was about to befall them, so many kids and one adult iceling. He was well on his way to loosing his mind. Then a familiar voice screeched 'Daddy and he turned to see his daughter just in time to open his arms as she launched herself into them. "Sezarra! I'm so glad your back and all in one piece. I told you if anything happened you could reach us!." He smiled but an anouncement made his smile fall. They were here already. "Okay everyone are we all set? All accounted for? First of all be safe don't take unnessessary risks, I want you call coming home today." Sweat was pouring off him even in chill Sauti. Kiyelt Post 6 Kiyelt checked straps weapons, clothing everything he could on himself and those around him a broken anything could spell disaster in the heat of battle. "Your father is right always be aware of those in front and those behind, if you have familiars let them help you don't go off and show boat, not here at a time like this we have no idea what the alk's are capable of and war is akin to chaos." Kiyelt stroked his janarim's face for what comfort it could give him. He was nervous but who wouldn't be right before a battle? Sezarra Post 6 Seze hugged Vuka too and checked her own gear, she was nervous but after all Daddy had been through this before? How hard could it be? She tried not to remember the old battlefield she had seen when she had just become a prentice. That wouldn't happen here surely, they would dispate the alk quickly hopefully with as little violence as possible then they would be shipped back home and she could work on her beast charming skills and everything would be fine. She hoped it would be so. "I can't believe they are here already! Can you believe it Vuka?" At least she had one brother with her she had no idea where her other siblings were. How many were even here? Did it matter? Hopefully some were in a safter place then this. Vallenhyyr Post 6 Vallen looked around considering Isaris's question. "Looks like the alks just got here so we need to zoom over to get supplies." He put truth to words and marched into the supply tent grabbing useful things that he could drape over and in pockets. "Dad says you can never be too careful but I want us to be. I have much more to say to you and the alks are not going to get in my way." Vallen was very much a one target kind of person he saw his path and he would stomp up it until obstacles bowed before him. He wanted this war done so he could pursue more avidly this brand new relationship with Isaris. "Oh look there's Dad over there! Lets go!" He grabbed Isaris's hand and towed him through the crowd to the spear toting shifter fair surrounded by a montage of familiars and young shifters himself with one lone ice man for added zest. "Da! Sis! Bro!" Family more family, he thought half sullenly. At least they were together if they had to be in danger. He almost vibrated from the strain and pent up energy. "We are ready Dad."

alek post nineAlek was surprised when Kayin voiced her intentions, surprised but pleased, despite her own resulting displeasure. He couldn't even bring himself to mind that she was only sticking around because she hadn't chosen a weapon. There had been the distinct possibility that she might have waded into battle and learned there. He had certainly expected her to. The prentice nodded at Zuri as she told them to take care. "You as well," he urged, trying to school his expression to solemnity as he turned to his twin. An odd twinge of adrenaline lent a sparkle to his eyes that was almost inappropriate given the proximity of their enemies. "Don't look so glum," he teased. "There will still be blood."

Kayin post 8
"Stay safe," Kayin responded to her sister before looking to her brother, making note of the strange excitement in his eyes.
Was the thought of blood to blame? Perhaps the rush of battle being so close? These questions faded as he jested which made her stick out her tongue at him.
"So long as it's not yours," she teased back, a brief moment of happiness dancing deep within her chest, though as it had been these past few months, the feeling was fleeting. Her expression became serious again as she looked around at her surroundings.
"We should probably head to the healers to let them know we're helping"

Lumikani Post 10 Alkidike Extremist Camp
The hunt had gone pretty well, although Lumikani didn't get much talking in. Unlike when she hunted with Elsheba, this time it was silent and serious, and with little talking between her and the other group of Alks. She did give the signs she needed, but it was overall a very straightforward hunt, and very successful.
As they settled in and continued to move, Lumikani kept closer to the Matron and Aselia's group, keeping her ears open for words and guidance from the leaders. There was a lot of yelling and chanting in the back, but Lumi wanted to be near the front where she could make the most impact. Plus, she figured Aselia might want her help since she had hunted the night before.
It wouldn't hurt to get close to the Mystic.
When Aselia drew her bow and the Matron began to lead them close to the line of Earthlings, Lumikani pulled out the two blades she had grabbed before she came out, still getting used to the weight and feel of such weapons. To her side, her Radaku stood proud and focused, reading it's owner's own movements.
As she heard her Mystic speak out around them, she too began to dart her eyes around and 'watch her back', well aware these lands were not her own. More than a few sisters were focused on the front, bloodthirsty, and Lumikani knew she couldn't get though to them down to advice patience and calm.
In fact, had she more experience as a fighter, she most likely would have their focus too. But lack of skill made her second guess herself, and so she pushed though the excitement to focus on her own protection. One day, she would be a great warrior like her sisters, she just had to make sure she would survive.
It was then she saw the camp of Alkidikes, and she stiffened.
"Our sisters seemed to have beat us here, and have taken to their side..." She ground her teeth together, hoping she wouldn't cross path with her true sisters before he night was over.

Amarone Post 10 Healer's Tents
Amarone heard the commotion outside, and listened as the leaders instructed people where to go. It was reassuring to hear that they had such guidance, and moreso to see even more people coming in and out of the tent. She drifted to the entrance to take a peek, and watched as the soldiers and allies got together to prepare at the front lines.
And then she heard the Alkidikes.
It was hard to make out what was going on, so she closed the tent and turned to the current members who were there. Looking around at everyone, she shook her head before flashing a smile.
"It seems as if the Alkidikes have arrived...so I guess we should start prepping for the worst? How can I help, show me what needs to be done..."
She was chattering off in nervousness, not realizing how close she was to a warzone, and she followed guidance without any quips about better ideas or suggestions.

Callum 9
"Stay safe, Ming."
It wasn't as if he really needed to say it, but Callum wasn't a man of loose ends. He stepped away from the rock and unsheathed his sword as he walked. The young swordsman still had a considerable limp, one that caused him to lean to the left when he walked, but it wasn't enough to stop him.
His heart beat madly in his chest as the Alkidike's approached. No matter what was said around camp, or even within the confines of his own mind, they still terrified him. Any sort of violence did, really. This would be his first real test with his blade, and it was a true battle. He would need all the help he could get.
Vermin?! His hand clenched around the hilt of his blade as Callum tried to still his anger. Whatever was going to happen he would need a clear head for it.

Wyome Post 9
She shook her head at the thought, she could barely imagine. Why would people fight if there was so much to offer? One thing she couldn’t understand was why the Alkidikes felt like they needed more land. Jauhar was beautiful and Sauti was beautiful in a different way… not in the way that Wyome would choose, but beautiful in its own right.
“I would love to! I-“ she paused, a chill running down her spine at the word vermin. There was an odd, familiarity to that voice, though she wouldn’t ever be able to place it. “Yes,” quickly shoving the rest of their fruit in her bag, she glanced through the tents. She knew it was coming, but this was nearly too close for comfort. “Maybe we should see to the healers... warn them that our friends are here.”

Saraf Post 8Saraf glanced toward Karothdra, giving a slow nod of his head as she spoke. It was very possible that the Alkidike that were moving about in their midst, even being welcomed there, were the enemy. He didn't much care for having so many of them so near to him. At least they were well armed he thought to himself, one hand moving for a moment to tap against the hilt of one of his swords. Once he'd reassured themselves that they were in place where they needed to be he said, "So long as we stick together we should be alright, we just can't allow the Alkidike or anyone else for that matter, split us up." Divide and conquer wasn't something he wanted to deal with. As Nuri spoke he turned to look toward him, listening, before giving a nod, "I agree, these savages have no idea of our true strength." Poor leadership had caused them to lose the war, but those fools weren't here now. Those who stood around him all appread to be quite competant and he knew for a fact that Nuri was strong. They shouldn't have to worry about the same blunders... provided that idiot Besian didn't get them in trouble by ordering them about in a manner equally as foolish as a particular Captain that Saraf still carried a grudge against. Here was to hoping the guy was at least of some use to them. That particular line of thought seemed to fade away though as their enemies seemed to finally arrive, one of them calling out to them, addressing them as 'vermin' and saying that they were to move or their forces would move them. "So their being led by an old hag then?" He murmured, giving a snort. Were the Alkidike that pathetic? Or was Sauti more pathetic for begging everyone for help against them? He supposed time would tell. Turning away from the encroaching Alkidike as a new voice reached him, that of a woman from their tribe, and he gave her a friendly nod of greeting. He couldn't help but to give a bit of a smile, another of Nuri's women? That seemed to be three now? He really was a popular one, wasn't he? He was about to comment on that when a pair of large beasts went racing by, followed by a Shifter. Said Shifter ended up in a heap at their feet and Saraf's eyes narrowed a bit as he starred down at the boy that was apologizing and going on about his pets and something about plants. Lifting a hand he rubbed his temples for a moment before he said, "Does this look like a place that you should be playing around? We are a breath away from war, boy. You should go find your parents and stop screwing around lest you get yourself killed!" Perhaps a little harsh but Saraf was known for his distaste for Shifters and having one talking to him in such a friendly and casual manner was irksome at best.

Jacinthus Post 7Jacinthus's body seemed to go still as he lifted his gaze, watching as those they were waiting on arrived. He starred a moment before his arms tightened around his mate. He didn't want them anywhere near Takoda. After a moment of merely holding on tightly to him he looked down at him and asked, "Where do you want to be, Takoda? Here or in the healer's tents?" He asked of him in a hushed tone, wanting to get him to the relative safety of the healer's tents if possible but knew he couldn't very well force him. If he wasn't going there then he would keep him at his side, keep him safe, no matter what. "If you're wanting to move we should likely see that you are moved there soon, before they make their move." He'd like the believe that the whole idea of peace talks was something that was actually possible but the extremists didn't seem as though peace was on their minds. In fact they were calling everyone behind the blockade 'vermin' so peace was likely the absolute last thing they cared about. Never a good sign when the people you wanted to chat with started off by calling you names he thought to himself, eyes narrowing a bit. Chalcedony Post 7Chalcedony gave a bit of a smile, "Until the day that they can beat me in a fight they are still boys." He said, "Not to mention that I can in fact easily still carry both of them around... provided of course I catch them in the same place at the same time. That seems to be the hardest thing to do these days. I do miss when they were smaller though, it sure made keeping them safe a lot easier." Not to mention it was far easier just keeping track of them. Of late the pair seemed to be harder and harder to wrangle, not something that Chalcedony cared for in the least bit. Leaning over the big Shifter swept up his heavy shield, putting it in place, before shifting his stance so that Keilana would be behind the shield as well just in case. Looking toward her he said, "Nothing at all about your fighting prowess, Keilana. Just figure we should be cautious when so many of our enemies are carrying bows." He didn't trust the extremists not to just skip passed the peace talks and move right onto the shooting them all with arrows part of the day.

Ming'we Post 7 She nodded her head to Callum as he left the base of her rock. She knew why he was leaving so soon after finding her again. The Alkidike's had arrived. Her gaze flickered toward them and then back to her friend as he limped. It bothered her that he would be out there like that, so she resolved to at least give him some aid with her crossbow. Shifting only slightly Ming brought a bolt up and loaded the weapon. She'd need it ready just in case. And her first target was the Matron. She seemed to have a lot of sway, maybe taking her out would take the wind out of the Amazons. However, she didn't pull the trigger, not yet. ------------------------------------ V'demhe Post 9 She had hoped to see Virain before things got testy, but Freya wanted the alkidikes out of the earthling camp. Dem didn't blame her for not trusting them. The young Alkidike gave a nod of her head and lifted one hand in a half wave to show she heard the order, then turned and walked away from the earthlings, taking her familiar's with her. No sooner she was on the outer edge of the earthling camp and the extremists had arrived. V'demhe paused where she was and watched, listened. "Get ready Maha. Tanou, I'll need you to flank them if this gets ugly." Both radaku's gave a growl, their glares fixed on the Alkidike's that were opposing their owner. Dem reached back and drew her blades, holding them at the ready as she faced down those of her own tribe. It was in resonance with the extremists as they did the same. "Sisters! You are being led by hate! Aisha's daughters should not be so spoiled! Please cease this course of action! Return to Aisha's bosom and seek her guidance!" V'demhe was certain that none would listen to her, but she had to try. What was wrong with her people? Had it started with Aselia or was it the Matron that had planted the seed of prejudice? "This should be a time of celebration, for all of Tendaji's people. Not a time for war and fighting. I beg you to reconsider!" One last attempt to change some of the extremists minds. Suhuba To the extremists and Matron. Also acknowledges Freya's command. Lirende She moved since Freya said she didn't want the Alks in her camp. XD ------------------------------------------- Ariya Post 8She said nothing as she stayed behind Maya, her hands resting on the woman's hips so she didn't lose her own balance. Ariya glanced around at the other sisters that followed them, it seemed others couldn't eat either. At least she wasn't alone on that front. She brought her attention back to Maya and leaned a bit closer to the woman before she spoke. "Maya, I fear what will happen if I have to face my mother.." After all, she couldn't turn against the woman that took her in and raised her as her own when she didn't have to. It made her wonder what she would do. "I'm not sure I can face her." ---------------------------------------------

Kalliope Post 10Near the soldiers of the earthling campWhen Saraf told her to keep a look out she turned her head to look at him and smiled as she gave a nod. Kalli would make sure she didn't let any get near the healer's tents. Before she could continue on her way to where she said she would be someone had fallen on the ground. Her red eyes blinked several times before she did anything. "Are you alright?" She asked the shifter. When Saraf spoke she gave a bit of a chuckle before she stepped forward and took the shifter gently by the arm. "Come on, there are no plants over here and you don't want to be in the way of the soldiers." Kalli grinned at Saraf and gave a wink before she tried to lead the shifter boy away from the group. Orpheus Solon She was just barely close by. XD ---------------------------------------------------------- Phaedra Post 9Inside the earthling campShe nodded her head toward Vuka. Though she did notice that her trident was a wee bit bigger than him. It made the leafling smile a bit at him. When things started to get a bit tense she looked around. Then she heard it. The call of the Alkidikes. It looked like they had arrived. "I don't think you're gonna get any fighting tips, Kid." Her eyes went toward Xariy and then Vuka before she looked back toward the front lines and where the gap between the Amazons and the earthlings was. It wasn't much of a gap either. --------------------------------------- Syqvara Post 10 Earthling camp Even if the Obans weren't as bad as she'd heard she still feared them a little. She grew silent as she looked around at them all. Sy hadn't expected them to really show up here and it made her want to shrink away. Moving closer to Nyiim she gave a small nod as she acknowledged his words but her eyes seemed glued on the dark skinned earthlings. "I s-suppose." She said finally. When a cry from the front lines came she turned her head to look at what was going on. It was the Alkidikes. All over again she seemed to pale before she gave a small whimper and brought her staff up close. She only hoped that her spells could be of use. Those women looked brutal and she was a small thing compared to them. "L-Looks like th-things had started."

Karothdra - Post #10Karothdra did not respond to Nuri’s words, she listened of course, but her eyes were on the Alkidikes that had been given some space ways from them. Good, at least they hadn’t been foolish enough to just accept them with open arms only to have their throats slit open by the same people. Plus, they couldn’t be trusted so close to so many civilians. Karo on the other hand was itching to fight, itching to throw a punch or kick something. It got her adrenaline pumping in her veins and made her slightly more twitchy than usual. War was coming, time to be prepared.
Another Oban seemed to approach their group and she knew Nuri as well. It looked like Nuri knew quite a few people. Karothdra gave her a nod and a curt smile. The swearing made Karothdra smile, tall people indeed. The amusement was gone from her face the moment she spotted someone coming towards then only to come flying through their group. Karo moved aside with ease to make sure he didn’t hit her. He was exactly the reason why only soldiers should be on the front lines, he could get himself killed. “I wouldn’t want to wonder too far,” she commented. “Never know who’s waiting in the shadows while you have your back turned gathering herbs.”
It was a warning to him; he really shouldn’t ought to go wondering alone. Especially now that the Alkidikes had revealed themselves. Karothdra cracked her hands again, feeling even twitchier. She liked this Saraf guy, perhaps she’d ask Nuri for a more formal introduction once this was all said and done. “Should we move closer to the lines?” She wanted to hear the exchange between the leaders and the Alkidikes. Plus, she also wanted to be there if things went south and be the first to face the Alkidikes.
