Kadriye post 5

Too many shouting voices, too many people talking over one another and giving no one a chance to respond. This was why they had rules and systems to govern them. The majority did not get to decide for the whole tribe, the elders gathered and discussed then handed down decisions most of the time. Mystics overruled them when it was necessary or when Aisha gave a clear vision or demand but to her knowledge that was rare. Even then one could not force every sister to follow guidance if they were truly opposed.

Mob rule was not acceptable even if it pleased Kadriye to hear voices championing her opinion over that of the Matron. This was a delicate situation and getting everyone to participate in a proper ordered tribunal was unlikely but some semblance of structure needed to be established soon before the sisters fractured into even more groups and the Alkidike people risked losing themselves to this fight.

Tahira post 3

The Matron could take a long walk into the ocean if she thought Tahira was going to oen day let herself be purged from the tribe. The hybrid woman was as much Alkidike as any sister here. Aisha had sanctioned her parent's union and granted them her blessing in order for Tahira to be born. Tahira came back every year to give to the great mother, she forsook earthling magic and studies the ways of alkidike blades because while she did not deny her mixed heritage her heart would always belong to the the tribe she was raised in.

One day Tahira would climb the tallest mountain in Sauti and while she might thank their godess Bergchi for the safe journey she would always be grateful to Aisha for giving her the body and fortitude to make the climb. Someday the hybrid woman would sail to new undiscovered lands and she would share news of them first with her fellow sisters so that they might make homes there before the other tribes could try and take the land from them.

She wasn't too sure about this all races under Aisha and everyone being pure or hybrid Alkidike plan Kadriye spoke of but it was a better future than brutal takeover and the breaking of the tribe under views that clearly not everyone shared.

Vollerei post 6

"Over acting like that ain't helping Tahigwa." Vollerei said with a sigh. "All you are doing is raising others hackles and arousing anger and making them dig in their heels rather than see reason. Much like she;' Vollerei pointed at the Matron, "is doing to me. It's going to be hard to make any army if you aren't being calm.... and not many will want to fight next to an Alkidike because of what the hybrid haters have been doing these past few weeks." There was too much anger towards her people right now.. and this is just making it worse. We can't even be at peace with our own sisters!

"You'd think that our Matron would want peace, that a Mystic would try to advance our people's cause.. making us go to war with a land so far away will only generate anger towards us! And then those who didn't help the shifters when we first tried to take Jauhrur over will join in. Maybe even push us all the way back! You don't seem to understand that the earthlings have strength! They also have more numbers than we do.... Turning the entire land against us is not a good thing." her voice was sad; why did people do this? Didn't anyone ever think before they jumped? Realize that all this anger and aggression had consequences that were going to come home to roost soon?

Maya post 6

The Guardian couldn't help but shake her head disapprovingly at the sisters around her. "What if the reason Aselia isn't here is because Aisha forsaw a terrible disaster and she alone answered the call do defend against it? You've all been thinking down one path, that she herself is an extremist just because she's missing a sacred gathering. I would miss it too if I were stuck as the center point of some argument. Maybe she's off trying to help another sister or two return if you haven't noticed." Maya shouted rolling her eyes at herself. "We are missing several sisters." The least of which Maya understood was a woman she wanted little to do with anymore. Not that anyone was listening to her

Her antenna perked up slightly at the sound of Ayria's voice as it carried over the crowd. And drooped again when she heard what it was saying. Using the pressure of her legs to guide her mount Maya shifted through the crowd. At the sounds of the voices the sea or roaring the least she could do was gather her bow and saddle Kakkara up with a few more materials. The festival was over so why was she still lingering here in the middle of a fight no one was really listening to? She had to return to Jauhar, forbidden or not she had to get to Teiluj and make sure her daughter was alright. She would take that step to defend the people in Jauhar from the devastating injuries her own sisters could cause. Oh why was it that V'demhe had to leave of all things! She was going to need assistance to gather a portion of sisters willing to stand against the extremists. If she could just get them to rush ahead of the group outnumbering her those thinking like her then perhaps there would still be a chance.

Turning quickly Kakkara moved her towards Ayria. "If you want to help the others you have a small window to join me. Come, if you want this is your chance to leave the islands. I am leaving to help those in Jauhar before they are trampled on!" Maya held out her hand to the young Alkidike.

The matron looked down at those opposing her and simply waved her arm in dismissal. "Your arguments just prove that you are weak. That something went wrong when raising you. Perhaps your training wasn't strong enough. Whatever the reason, if any have died from earthlings it just proves that the generation is failing, not that they are strong."

The extremists cheered in agreement before the Matron continued. "Do you think that the scores of Shifters that feared us managed to cut down Sisters?" She scoffed.

The women supporting the Matron began to chant, their call for their rights to Tendaji taking over the sounds of others arguing. Those in support of bringing back the glory that was the Alkidike outnumbered those opposed two to one. It was a large crowd, and they wanted justice. They had sat by while the earthlings took up more and more of their lands every day.

Eshe kneeled forward, attempting to answer Lumikani, but before she could even speak out, she was drowned out by the yelling from the crowd.

"Now's the time!" One cried out. "We're done arguing here!" And cries of "To Sauti!" rang out in a dissonant chorus among the many voices.

The crowd that was just recently arguing with those around them picked up their weapons, calling words of encouragement to each other. Words of strength. It would seem that no matter how much those opposed would argue, there wasn't any talking to them. The Matron was on their side. Aselia was on their side. And Aisha was on their side.

They would conquer Sauti, they would show the earthlings that the Alkidike were better than them. And prove to the nay-sayers that they were wrong, there was no compassion to be had for those beneath them...

Bhima- post 4

Dread sank Bhima's heart. So that was it. Those who chose to believe they were somehow greater and entitled to land that had never been theirs were in the majority. Oh, Aisha, help lead them home. This couldn't be what you had wanted, she refused to believe it. Her hands went to her cheeks.

Oh, Hijil, stay safe. Please, for the love of the goddess, stay safe. Would there be anything to be done against the extremists? Oh, she could only hope. Gripping the hilt of one blade strongly, Bhima stumbled back and watched the extremists lose their minds.

Maya post 7

That was in pushing herself to her feet while standing on Kakkara Maya cleared her throat. "Stop with the yelling and bickering! Listen! The more we stay and fight the harder this is going to be. You need to think! Will anyone join me in helping defend the earthlings!?" Maya didn't care if this made her a target for the extremists she had a daughter in Jauhar to worry about. A timid girl who felt other people's pain as if it where her own. This war was likely to destroy her fragile soul if she didn't do anything. "We have brothers and sisters out there who may not be pure but care about the earthlings! Join me we must power ahead of that group and reach Jauhar before they do. If we can we may have the advantage of healers to restore us so we can stand against them. Time is of the essence who will come with me?" Glancing down to Ayria and then towards Kadriye, Eshe, and Yansa, Maya hoped she wasn't overstepping. She had spent the duration of the bickering to draw a proper conclusion and to think clearly. Not become heated like so many of her sisters were. Maya wobbled nearly falling off Kakkara as the Janarim shifted under her feet.

"I will lead you to Jauhar! I know a fast route and I am certain there are others waiting there for us. Hurry!" Dropping back onto Kakkara and positioning herself properly Maya nodded and moved towards the shore. She wasn't going to stand around and wait and this was the only time they had to move ahead of the others.

Lumikani Post 7

Lumikani watched passively as the matron spoke out once again, her eyes wide and unblinking as she took it all in. The cheers, the yells, the happiness and the anger. Everything was falling onto her as a wave as she watched her Matron speak out and claim the generation was failing.

At least she knew she was strong, and would never be a failure.

A movement took her away from the chants and she looked at Eshe, the current mystic. She swallowed as the woman kneeled forward, ready to speak, before everything was overwhelmed. She nearly jumped as the sounds came back, and she turned her head back to see what was going on.

War. War had been decided, and as she turned back to Eshe, she watched as the chance to hear the mystic speak was over.

It was time to march.

Elsheba: Post 5
Dread filled Elsheba - dread as the extremists made the choice to move, to war. Swallowing, hard, the woman took a step back, eyes straying to her sister - Lumikani - who was going with them. There was even a chance that their mothers were going - Elsheba couldn't know, for sure, because she didn't see them in the crowd - and yet. And yet her mother's opinion was likely to be similar to Lumikani's. A long breath was drawn, then released - and Elsheba willed the anxiety and tension that had filled her to leave her.

She turned, drawn to Maya, nodding in agreement. She only had to go retrieve her bow - and then go to war. The extremists had decided FOR her - there would be those who remained home, hoping to escape this conflict, but Elsheba couldn't be one of them. She should find Anya, through the crowd - tell her to stay, to watch over her remaining sister - but they were growing up, and Elsheba couldn't shield them from this.

In a way, it felt like she was abandoning her family - her mothers, her sisters - Aisha. Her eyes turned to the mother tree, prickling with emotion - because she didn't know, for certain, if what she had decided really was aligned with what the mother wanted. For all she knew... the Matron was right. This was Aisha's will. Elsheba ... and the young mystic's hopes for what hybrid Alkidike represented might be wrong... and then what? Elsheba, for the first time in her life, found her desires didn't lie with what her people might want. "Lead the way, sister!" She finally called back, to Maya, but it left her feeling both proud to lend her aid to this fight... and hollow. She'd have time to reexamine herself later - but for now they had to move.

Ariya Post 5

When Maya approached her she seemed to be a bit indecisive. However, the cries from the crowd spurred her on. As Maya stood to talk to others the girl had gotten onto Kakkara. When the beast shifted his weight her hands went to Maya's hips to steady her. When all was said and done she simply sat behind Maya and let her do the steering, and prayed that Niesh didn't see her. Ariya didn't want to hurt her mother with her actions, but it was inevitable.

V'demhe Post 6

In the time it took others to yell and give speeches, Dem had taken her mother home and collected both her weapons and her familiar. As well as a few other things that would be needed. Needless to say that when she came back into view of the crowd, to witness Maya leading the way no less, Maha was laden down with several packs and a set of spare blades and the young Alkidike was followed by several others. She jogged over to Maya, gave a nod to the girl seated behind her, then grinned at the older woman. "Miss me? I collected some basic supplies to leave the island with."

V'demhe took a moment to look behind her at Elsheba then forward again. "Well, aren't you popular, Mama." She chuckled as she spoke to her friend's mother but she was pleased to know that Maya had some influence.

NIABI POST 7

Niabi shook her head. This was getting out of control.

She looked to little Shima in front of her and hoped for her sake that she was going to be staying home. Maybe in Jauhar and away from all this craziness.

Niabi doubted whether she would even be going with the others, regardless of what side she was on. She wasn't sure she would want to face down earthlings, or face against her own Sisters. She craned her neck, trying to see Vollerei from the crowd. Maybe she would give Niabi courage.

Zahra Post 7

Zahra's antennae twitched like mad when she heard what was the 'final say' amongst their sisters, that being that they were going to Sauti and anyone that didn't were apparently just weaklings. Giving a snort she said, "Well, Jojo, it seems that it didn't take them wiping out the Earthlings and hybrids first before they starting deciding which of their pure sisters weren't good enough." Her tone was dripping with disgust before she turned her head, hearing one of their older sisters calling out, a voice of reasons amongst the maddness their extremist sisters. so the woman was going ahead, taking a fast route to the front lines.

Turning to her twin she said, "I have no intentions of fighting, not if I don't have to, but you know that Uncle Yaholo and Uncle Rilind will want to. We should go ahead and take care of the triplets for them." That she said in hushed tone next to her twin's ear, not wanting any of the crazy people to over hear such a thing. Taking a step back she said, "If you want to stay behind I understand, Joweese, but I want to help the part of our family that our sisters want so badly to turn their backs on."

After giving her sister a smile she hurried over to where Maya was gathering people, lifting a hand, "Please, let me go with you! I need to get to my Uncle Yaholo and his family." She said, waving her arm to make sure that she got noticed and would be allowed to tag along, "I promise, I won't drag the group down."

[Zahra is tagging along as far as Yera but will stay there to look after Yaholo and Ril's babies]

Niabi

Vollerei post 7

She was filled with a sense of despair, of anger, and of worry. What would become of her people if so many listened to these words of hate and decided to go to war with the rest of the world? What will happen to those who just want to live quietly? She thought to herself as she turned her back on the extremists. One thing was for sure: she would never march along side these sisters... not now nor ever. She would never lend her spear to such a stupid and hate filled leader.

And if that means I can no longer return here? So be it, she thought to herself as she walked back to Niabi.

"I will go... I'm taking Zweil and flying ahead to warn the earthlings of what is to come.. perhaps they will be ready and can beat back these foolish hateful arrogant sisters of ours." She said, wrapping Niabi in a hug, wanting to be comforted but knowing she had to be strong and turn her spear against her own Sisters. She had to do this, had to try something... if only to let the earthlings know not all Alkidikes were like this.

[Volle is going.. but going to support the earthlings with information, warning them of how many are coming.]

Anya post 7
The words, the loud cheers... she could bear them no longer. She saw others felt the way she did, saw them look ashamed, angry, sad... but not enough. Anya thought with despair; not enough spoke out... why does hatred ring louder than compassion? Why does anger gather more support than reason or peace?

She turned and ran away; back to the house they had. She would have nothing to do with these people anymore.. no war. She could not fight.. not knowing her triplet was on the other side.. Fate was weird like that; she just knew if it happened she would end up fighting Lumi directly.. and Anya could not bear the thought of that. Attacking Lumi? No.. yelling at her sure, calling her fifty kinds of stupid, blind, idiot; defiantly! But not attack..
