He laughed quietly, lifting a hand to drift sand covered fingers lazily through Otto's hair.
"I'm having fun," Chance answered mildly. "Are you?"
There was a twist of his lips, as if he was hiding a smile.
"There's an easy solution to that, you know."

"Yeah, I am. Ain't it obvious?" No, not really. Unless one knew Otto and his mixed facial cues. Otto's brow flattened and he reached over, pinching Chance's nose. "If skinny dippin' was in your agenda, I'd be inclined to say yes were the ocean not swarmin' with people eatin' creatures." He liked his jewels in one piece.

"Not always," said Chance with a little laugh, fingers drifting idly over Otto's forehead. "Fortunately, I know how you are anyway. But it's nice to be reassured every now and then."
A snort escaped him, and he attempted to bat away Otto's hand.
"That was not the solution I had in mind, though now that you think of it..." he said thoughtfully, though it was just him being obnoxious as usual, since Chance had no intention of attempting to skinny dip while there were terrible monsters in the sea.
"Besides, I only just barely learned how to float, remember?"

"Hmmmm.... yeah, I guess." Right, Chance still needed water wings for the big kid pool. Sucker. Made Otto feel like a pro in comparison. "So what was that idea of yours, Mr. I'm So Smart?"

He did indeed have a solution, but technically it had just been an attempt at being coy, innuendo lacing Chance's words that Otto's obtuseness had overlooked. In other words, Chance had flirted unintentionally and it had just been missed, not that he was particularly bothered by this, since Otto was Otto. It amused him instead.
"Well," he said lightly, "I was going to suggest something about a shower and a lack of clothing, but..."
Chance's fingers flitted briefly down Otto's temple. He was quiet for a moment, mulling over something in his head.
"You asked me before, about one-night stands," he said. "And I just wanted to make sure that you know I don't keep coming back to you just for the sex, right? I mean, that's great, but I don't like you just for that."

Lucky for Otto, Chance didn't seem to mind Otto's occasional thick headedness. "Oh... That was my second guess." Totally... Otto considered what Chance said a moment, a small smirk tugging the corner of his mouth. "Yeah, I know. I mean we hung out a lot before the sex part, anyway." He'd been good friends with Chance first, after all. "The sex is just an added bonus."

He seemed to relax a little at the answer.
"Good," said Chance. "I mean, I know we talked about it a bit before, but I just wanted to double check since you mentioned one night stands. But besides the sex part, you're probably the best friend I've got. I like just talking with you, even with that ridiculous sass of yours."
He smiled, leaned down, and kissed him gently.
"You're right, though, the sex is a nice bonus."

"What sass?" He asked with a straight face. He met Chance's kiss with a soft one of his own, almost hesitant to pull away.

"You're like, ninety percent sass," said Chance, rolling his eyes. But his eyes fluttered shut at the return kiss, his fingers pressing lightly against the side of Otto's face to hold him there before they slid around to the back of his neck, light and gentle.
Chance nuzzled Otto's face affectionately, unwilling to pull away just yet.
"Ninety percent sass, nine percent softy, one percent everything else."

"That's a whole lotta crud to stuff into a tiny one percent." Otto murmured, with sass. Cause apparently he had too much to spare. Even with the sass, the 9% of softy was enjoying being close to him. Idly, he flicked grains of sand off of Chance's skin.

"Maybe the sass is a little less than ninety percent," said Chance in a deadpan voice. "Or maybe your sass is just an entirely separate meter altogether."
He was covered in sand and still wet from the wave, but that didn't stop him fro sliding his hand away from Otto's neck to find his hand again, lacing their fingers together warmly. Chance leaned in and kissed him again, slow and lingering, before pulling back.
"Wanna go back yet?" he murmured gently. "Or do you want to stay here for a bit longer?"

"Hmm... maybe like a parasite." He murmured in consideration. "It's terminal. No surgery can cure it." The sass that would die with him. He felt warm, and it wasn't just from the sun. He covered up a lot of his softer side with sass as a armoured covering, but in little moments like this when their lips met, sass fell to the wayside. It was too pure and simple to be tainted by a joke. He gave a small shake of his head, feeling content and placated. "Let's go back."

"That's okay," Chance murmured, a smile on his face as he leaned into Otto. "I like the sass on you, it's a good look."
He squeezed Otto's fingers again, and eased himself away, sitting up and running a hand through his damp hair. Chance got to his feet and pulled Otto with him and, since he seemed a little more needy than usual today, slid an arm around his waist and bent to kiss him once more.
"Let's go back," he said, running a hand up Otto's back briefly before letting it fall away so he could reach for Otto's fingers again. "Get out of these clothes that have sand in places no one should have sand in."

Otto didn't mind the neediness. Now and then, he was needy too. Well.. maybe more than now and then. But still. He had just as many touchy feely moments with Chance as he did sass filled, or serious talk filled. When he was with him, he often felt like no one else was around. Funny enough, in most cases, no one was. "Right? And to think people actually have sec on the beach. Ain't that a health hazard?" He inquired while holding his hand. He was definitely looking forward to a shower and clean, dry clothes.

"I'm pretty sure that sex on the beach is not nearly as romantic or sexy as people make it out to be," said Chance with a laugh as he slipped his free hand into his pocket again and led them back up towards the campus and the dormitory buildings. "I had one guy that tried to tell me it was a good idea and then got pissed when I said I'd rather do it somewhere that didn't involve getting sand everywhere."
He wrinkled his nose, squeezing Otto's fingers absently. "I mean, sure there are creative ways of things, but that's definitely not one of mine."
