Matt snarled as his knee collided with King's jaw and carried through in the steel steps, nearly sending the platforms sliding in the opposite direction. Without missing a beat, The Storm reached down and attempted to pick up the fetal positioned King by his hair, and force him to slide into the ring. They were taking this back to the mat!

King was slid into the ring, consciously trying to roll to the far side of the ring and save himself from more punishment.

Matt slid into the ring immediately after King and attempted to stop him from rolling too far away. If he managed to grab hold of him, he'd flip him onto his back and go for the pin!

1!
2!
King had been holding the back of his head still, but he had the wherewithal to throw his shoulders up off the mat and prevent the pinfall.

A loud growl followed the failed pinfall, clearly a sign of frustration from the former BBW General Manager. He pushed up to his knees and looked up to the clouds for a moment, soon after rising to his feet. The rain hadn't stopped, and it wouldn't. Not tonight. Not while The Storm was breathing.
After his brief respite, Matt went running at the ropes as fast as his could, his movements so abrupt that he nearly bulldozed the referee over in his path. On the rebound, Matt came running at King and jumped in the air, aiming to bring his full weight down on King with a Senton!

King notably seemed to tense up just before the impact of the senton, as Matt's weight came crashing down on his chest and King concaved, rolling onto his side in pain.

Matt fell into a sitting position after crashing down onto King. He seemed to be expanding his arsenal of moves for this match; as long as he kept King on his toes, 2.0 was bound to slip up.
He took a deep breath before turning around, attempting to pull King back onto his back and go for a second pinfall!

King thrusted his arm up off the mat to kick out at two once again, but this time in doing so he brought his palm swiftly across the face of Matt Shanahan, slapping him as he kicked out in classic King fashion.

Matt felt a stinging smack hit him on the side of his cheek as his pinfall failed once more. He knew he should've expected such an underhanded insult; after all, it was in fact a classic King move.
And much like last time King had pulled it off, it only served to provoke The Storm's fury even more. He turned his head back to glare down at King, his eyes wide with anger. He grabbed him by the shoulder and tried to push him back down onto the mat. However, he didn't go for a pinfall. He attempted to mount King deliver his rage the only way he knew how: with fists. In a frenzied state, Matt sent blow after blow down to King's face, attempting to batter the man into unconsciousness!

As Matt was coming down on him with the very first fist, King suddenly grabbed Matt's arm and pulled it against his own chest, trying to get Matt closer, as he suddenly shifted his weight and tried to cross one of his legs over Matt's face, locking his hands around Matt's head and cinch in the Koji Clutch!

They always said Matt's rage would be his downfall; as his attempt to beat King into a pulp was interrupted by King's sudden grapple, it was clear that his rage proved to be just as much of a weakness as it was a strength. Matt roared in pain as Kelly pulled him in for that Koji Clutch, putting The Storm into a world of pain!

The fans were stunned by the suddenness of the counter. King had been out of the ring for so long, maybe people had forgotten that he was one of the most sound technical wrestlers in history, and definitely one of the smartest. King started to shake his body back and forth, pressuring Matt's face with his leg, trying to make him tap out to the rarely used super submission by the King.

Matt roared in defiance as King applied more and more pressure. He knew King wanted him to tap, but he wanted King to know that he would never submit to him. Not now, not ever. The pressure continued to mount, but Matt was already beginning to push his knees up to get closer to his base position. The sooner he could get a better stance, the sooner King could be shaken off.

As Matt started to shift his body, King sent Matt a direct message. His fingers locked harder around Matt's skull and he started to push forward with the leg that was around Matt's face; King was not simply going to be shaken off. He would have to be removed if Matt had any hope of escaping this hold without a broken neck.

The pain was nearly blinding at this point; the pressure on his face was nearly enough to make him want to tap. He wanted to. He wanted to...
And then, that desire left his mind. Everything left his mind.
Matt's knees gave out and his eyes fluttered shut, as the modified sleeper hold seemed to knock him out cold.
