I AM USING ***MELEE*** AND THE CURRENT DAMAGE DONE IS 316
Following Morgan was either the best idea he'd ever had...or the worst. But Ahm didn't really have time to think about, contemplate or even puzzle over that question because his leader was shouting something he couldn't make above the melee and before he knew it he was being swept up into chaos, blade flashing.
A shadowy beast grabbed for his cloak, choking him and Ahm twisted to get a look before reversing his blade and skewering the little b*****d. It's cries rung in his ears even as he was jerking the rapier out and going for another of the shadowlings. I need room-- "Back the hell OFF!" Another monster went down under his blade and he wrapped his cloak up around his off arm to use as a sort of padding and to keep it from being caught again.

Pain aside, it seemed using the ballista was MUCH more effective. She was glad they had these things to work with. Made life so much easier. These shadows were going DOWN. Jala tried to move the ballista again, huffing as she pushed it to aim at a different spot. Man, why were there so many shadows? Where in the word was Morgan? And where was HER own great knight? Unbeknownst to her, Sir Galahad had already made an appearance, and of course, she was nowhere to be found. Jala always missed the important things when they mattered.
Well, at least NONE of that mattered right now. Right now, she had the pleasure of shooting holes in those wretched creatures, which she was more than happy to do. The second shot fired, and she winced as some of the shot ricocheted. Maybe more body armour couldn't hurt.

Ahm found rhythm to the carnage within himself, his blade moving like an extension of his entire body as he used it to tear apart the shadowy creatures, even going so far as to shove his entire arm into one's mouth so as to run the blade through it more fully.
He used a gore-spattered boot to the beast's head to help remove his blade and went right back to work, face a mask of grim determination and the blood of his fellows.

Oh, it seemed a lone knight was trying to fend off the shadows himself. Poor thing. Didn't he know it was more effective using the ballistas? Perhaps she should help the lad out.
"Shot coming your way, hun~" Her arm was getting tired from moving the large thing, and the shot went wide, only managing to skewer one of the shadowlings. Maybe two. Oh well. One was better than none, right?

Faintly, he heard it - a voice not his own and not his blades - the words barely registered before he was dodging the shot. Two beasts went down and he took a moment to salute her with his blade before going right back to his task.
But those large things looked...useful. Maybe if he could work himself over that way...hmmm.

Ughhhhhhhh, why couldn't these things be easier to MOVE? Jala's arms hurt and she wanted to take a break. This wasn't fun anymore. The shadowlings didn't seem to be dwindling in number either ugh. She pouted as she weighed her options. Would it be better to just attack by hand? Just the thought of it seemed extremely inefficient. Just look how many there were! But on the other hand, this thing was heavy, and slow, and the backlash hurt. Why couldn't they make smaller ballistas that dished out just as much damage? She supposed those were pretty much crossbows, and she did not have a crossbow. Alas.
Still, she started this, and she'd have to see it through. Surely they were making SOME sort of progress... sorta... Jala groaned out loud and aimed the ballista at another dark patch.

Hellfire and brimstone! The bloody things wouldn't stop, wouldn't let up. Ahm growled profanities mixed with invective and even excited little keens. Fighting was in his blood! Wasn't it? He couldn't remember, couldn't be arsed to remember either, because one of the goobley twits came at him with maw open and hungry; he had to throw up his cloak-wrapped arm to fend it off, nearly losing it in the process as he slashed wildly.

Using the last of her strength, Jala aimed the ballista at the decent spot, and let loose a shot. Shadowlings went scattering, debris went flying, it was awesome. A little less awesome were her muscles screaming in pain. Someone could take over now ugh she was DONE.

Okay. Okay. He did not have time for this horseshit!. For the second time in as many minutes he'd nearly gone down the maw of one of those shadow beasts and Ahm was. not. amused. In the slightest. Time for a change of tactic, clearly.
Thankfully he'd been making his way towards one of those ballistas, just a hop skip and a jump, right? He could make it without being devoured, right?
Right.
He just had to tear through a few shadows to do it...and turn his back on the rest. No problem. It was a crazy, reckless idea but...it was that or continue nearly being murdered by a ******** trick of the light. Goddamn, shadows really sucked! But that gal, she'd given him just the chance he needed!
Perhaps he was crazy, the way that Morgan had seemed to be when admonishing them to follow him into the courtyard in the first place. Ahm's expression went hard, his snarl turned to malevolent grin as he slashed, jumped and dodged towards his goal.

Oh Hell YES! Now this was way more like it! Ahm wiped his blade and sheathed it before checking the weapon. Calloused hands gripped the works and he laughed gleefully while aiming the massive crossbow. It was heavy and unfamiliar and his already sore muscles protested but he kept at it, a half-sane grin on his pale, spattered face.
"Ahahahaha, you little bastards get ready for some fun!"
Any question as to his sanity was now cleared. Ahm deVarr was batshit - and firing into the dark throng of shadows while cackling and whooping like during some game. Perhaps he'd regain his senses, but for the moment he was quite pleased to be lost in the thrill of the battle!
The Ballista fired, kicking back hard enough to bloody his nose and dislocate his shoulder. The pain brought him back to his senses and he blinked a bit while wiping his nose automatically. Eyes following the sight-lines of the weapon, he saw a patch that was mostly cleared of shadows. Momentarily, at least.
"Wow." The apprentice knight tried to man the weapon again, but the pain in his shoulder nearly whited the world out - he would not be the one to die because he'd fainted! Time to go see the medic...and maybe try to get a hold on whatever demon had settled into him while he'd fought.

When Camilla got to the courtyard she found it swarming with shadowy creatures! Many Knight-Apprentices and Knights were already battling and it was her turn to do so as well!
"Ha!" she yells as she draws her blades and lunges into the fray! At first the creatures blocked her attack and soon she found herself on her back with one ripping at her torso but she wouldn't give up! She had the thrill of battle running through her and with her blades in hand it felt like she had a trusty friend at her side!
Quickly she stabs the creature ripping at her with her Main Gauche which causes it to screech in pain and recoil off her Camilla wasted little time getting up and with a almost dance like movement she slashes with her Rapier then stabs once more with her main Gauche! The creature wails in pain before dispersing into a smoky shadow! She blinks as the creature just fades away then looks down at her crush velvet tunic with a frown it had long gashes and was totally ruined... ah well she could get another one... if she lived... A more pressing concern was the slight cut on her shoulder... Appently one of the monster's claws had gone through both her tunic and undershirt but it seemed to only knick the skin... after looking it over a bit she nods and looks at the creatures ahead she'd be fine! Now for more fighting!

I AM USING ***MELEE*** AND THE CURRENT DAMAGE DONE IS 358 Shun was having a hard time telling if their efforts were paying off at all right now. He tried not to focus on that. Rather than thinking too much on that sort of thing, he just sought out the next nearest creature of shadow and moved in for the attack. The creature lashed out to snap at him, exposing its long neck in the process. He took the opportunity to try and lob its head off in turn, hoping to make it pay for exposing itself like it just did.
