This wasn't a complete loss-- the hail was at least doing damage, and though most of his moves were either ineffective or completely obsolete, he at least had the weather doing him some favor. Simon thought about the trade he had done for Carbink and wished he had trained it up as well. If he lost this battle he'd be something different for him, switch out Druddigon and maybe even Hydreigon for Fairy Pokemon. Back when he caught Floette he thought it would be the only Pokemon of that type he'd get.
